The reason they would prefer t that children go back without a parent is because a child of any age does way better without a parent in room their more calm and listen to instructions way better and it gives them confidence in trusting doctors and nurses and builds a stronger independence for their future. I actually think its awesome they do this and I've had 3 kids that all been seen there and they've all enjoyed it and really liked the staff as I did as well

Dr. Pickett and all his assistants are superb! His work is thorough, effective, and his manner is warm and welcoming. In all my years of visiting the Dentist, he's hands down the very best! The entire staff is friendly and helpful. I look forward to every appointment. Thank-you Dr. Pickett!

They have been trying from day one to separate the child form the parent .They wanted my two year old to go in by her self. But they didn't stop us. Now with Covid they are forcing it saying its for safety reasons but you can wait in the hall. Turns out my now four year old was crying most the time and they did not come get us. Was having a cap put on not just a quick cleaning or a X-Rays. don't know if they are trying to hide something behind them closed doors or what but we are done and gone. I would give 0 stars if I could. They are the worst people to work with. They wont even send my kids records to the new dentist with out one of "THEIR" release forms signed. so now we have to drive 45 min one way just to sign one of there even though we signed a release threw the new one. I would recommend any other place other then here.

We have been taking my daughter here for years and started taking my son this spring for his first visit. They are warm and welcoming, with a kid friendly waiting room. They talk the children through what they are going to do and ease them into the care if they are scared. My son was hesitant at first but loved his visit to the dentist and cannot wait to return! The kids get to choose a prize at the end of their appointment. I am so glad we found this dental clinic instead of going to Boone! Both were halfway from our home but the care they are receiving at Wilkes Public Dental Clinic is up and beyond!

Terrible staff I spent 30 mins in hold, mind you they go to lunch at 12. I called and was put on hold from 11:30 till they went to lunch and was told to leave a message. Beyond furious.

My first visit was wonderful. Had xrays and exam, 2nd visit was for cleaning and I was happy. Third visit for refilling a tooth. Appt. was for 3:00 pm. Arrived at 2:45 pm. After 45 min wait, I was told the appointment was actually 3:20 pm because they needed 20 minutes to do the Covid test. WHAT?? It took less than half a min. After one hour, I left requesting a refund. I am not accustomed to paying before I have service performed. I'm changing my dentist immediately.
