Dr. Poncewas born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, where she attended La Universidad Central de Venezuela to receive her dental degree. She moved to Boston in 1984 in order to attend Boston University. She earned both her Master of Science in dentistry and oral biology and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in orthodontics. She has been working for about 20 years now. While her children, Yone and Anthony, were at home, she maintained a harmonious balance between caring for her family and caring for her patients. Now that they are grown, she is free to devote more time to the needs of her practice. Sheis frequently involved in dental missions to foreign countries and has volunteered at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Dental Clinic. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Arizona Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontics, and The Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics
