Our commitment is to encourage young patients to develop excellent oral health habits as well as positive attitudes toward dental care. Our emphasis on prevention and early dental care coupled with our child-friendly staff make for a great dental experience. Our office staff works to provide the best dental care in a non-threatening, caring and compassionate environment. For additional comfort, nitrous oxide (laughing air) is offered in the office. In addition, we offer in-office deep sedation/general anesthesia for our patients.
Dr. Matthew Whitesides knew he wanted to become a dentist from the time he was a teenager. Dr. Whitesides grew up in Aurora, Colorado. In High School, he started working for the pediatric dentist he saw as a child. He attended undergrad at the University of Colorado at Denver and attended Dental School at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. After graduating from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, Dr. Whitesides worked at Sunrise Community Health Center, in Northern Colorado for five years and served as Dental Director there for two years. Dr. Whitesides wanted to further his education and training by specializing in Pediatric Dentistry and attended the NYU Lutheran Pediatric Residency Program in Yakima, Washington. Dr. Whitesides served as Chief Resident his last year of residency. In addition, Dr. Whitesides also completed a one-year fellowship with the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) with the University of Washington.
I was born in Denver and raised in Greeley Colorado! I enjoy spending time out doors with my family watching my boys play golf, basketball and snowboarding. Although I love the changing of the seasons I love summer time in Colorado the most.
I am from British Columbia, Canada but was raised here on the front range. I attended Colorado Northwestern Community College for dental hygiene school. I love anything outdoors and spending time with my boyfriend and our four dogs. What I love about Colorado most are how different the seasons are, fall being my favorite.

They are so great with my kiddos. I'm always extremely impressed with how they make going to the dentist a fun experience instead of a painful scary one. Dr. Matt is so patient and he really cares about his patients.

We have had the best experience at Wild for a Smile. They are amazing with the kids, never pushing anything and always making sure they are comfortable. Would highly recommend for any parent looking for a pediatric dentist!

I took all three of my kiddos to wild for a smile today. I unfortunately don't win in the parenting department, I put off taking my kids to the dentist for far too long. Everyone was very kind and there was no shame or issues. I felt very happy with our visit.

Dr. Matt and his team are amazing! Going to the dentist is never at the top of anyone's list of things they want to do but my kids experiences (even when having fillings) are so great that my kids are focused more on the video game and the token toys then they are on the visit itself. I attribute most of this to the terrific staff!

We have going to Wild for a Smile for 6 years and we love it. The kids get top notch care. All of my kids have needed dental work and aren't afraid of the dentist! That is a big win. The atmosphere is friendly, comfortable and affordable. We recommend them to our friends and family.

Dr. Matt and all of the staff are always so warm, so kind, so helpful, and are fantastic with kiddos!! During one of our regular cleaning appointments, Dr. Matt saw a small cavity and said we needed to come back for a filling. He directed us NOT to talk about it with our little because he would explain things to her when we came back. SO glad; he explained it in a way that was not at all scary! Additionally, when it came time for the procedure, he kept the shot covered so she didn't see it when we walked into the room, then brought it up in a manner that was out of her site and she didn't even know that she got a shot! Truly amazing! We have been back for 2-3 cleanings since and she doesn't have the slightest fear or anxiety about seeing the dentist!

We absolutely love Dr. Matt Whitesides at Wild For A Smile Children's Dentistry! He and his staff have been very patient with our little guy. He is very hesitant to visit the dentist but they do a great job with him. They have been equally wonderful with our foster daughter! The atmosphere is friendly and inviting and the token/toy at the end just makes the kids' day. If you are looking for a great pediatric dentist, visit them!

If I could give 10 stars I would! The entire staff here is always wonderful. Dr. Whitesides is the dentist I wish I had as a kid. Our kiddo had to do some sleepy teeth work and the entire experience from start to finish was beyond amazing. Liking the dentist is such an important thing for our littles. They make it so easy for them to do that here. The very first visit our kiddo didn't want to do more than the one x-ray, no one pressured her or made her feel bad about that. Instead they all focused on how proud they were of her for getting the one done that she did. They all really know how to make any kid, especially an anxious one, feel comfortable and valued. The anesthesiologist this morning went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable too. It's extra awesome that as parents we get to be there for everything and they communicate every step of the way to both us, and then in kid mode for our kiddo. 10/10 recommend Dr. Whitesides and Wild for a Smile. So glad that we found them when we did and this gets to be our kids' experience and comforting place for dental health and care as they grow!
