Dr. Lisa Wilborn has been providingthe highest quality orthodontic carefor children, teens and adults in the Gadsden area since 2009. Dr. Wilborn attendedthe University of Alabama for her undergraduate education and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Dentistry.Following dental school, she remained at the University of Alabama in Birmingham to complete her orthodontic residency program, where she earned her Masters degree in Science and received her orthodontic specialty certificate.
As a dental student, Dr. Wilborn held various leadership positions including: University of Alabama School of Dentistry Admissions Committee, University of Alabama School of Dentistry Admissions Hostess, Alabama Association of Women Dentists Vice President, Japanese Exchange Delegate, Junior Class Vice President, and Sophomore Class Vice President. Upon graduation from dental school in 2006, Dr. Lisa Wilborn was awarded numerous honors. She was recognized for being on the Deans List each quarter for all four years of dental school, inducted into the exclusive Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society, and received an additional four awards for scholastic achievement and clinical excellence: American Association of Orthodontists Award for exceptional interest in the development of the oro-facial complex, American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry Award for most clinical proficiency and greatest interest in esthetic dentistry, Leon H. Schneyer Award for being the outstanding student in Basic Sciences, and the Alpha Omega Scholarship Award for attaining the highest scholastics average for four years of dental studies.
