Dr. Kawuloks interests lie in comprehensive dental rehabilitation focusing on cosmetic and reconstructive therapies. This includes cosmetic bonding and veneers (since 1986), aesthetic crowns and bridges, implant prosthetics including smile makeovers for denture wearers, a strong periodontal program including soft tissue management, and endodontics (painless root canal therapy).
Dr. Kawulok has been nearly a life-long resident of Boulder, moving here in 1966. He attended Sacred Heart School, and is a graduate of Boulder High School. Dr. Kawulok attended Northern Arizona University, graduating Cum Laude in Chemistry after 3 years. He played football at the university and was elected to the NAU sports hall of fame in 1998. Dr. Kawulok is a 1983 graduate of the University of Colorado School of Dentistry.
Dr. Nicole W. Kent is a Wisconsin native who began her dental career working as a dental assistant for several years prior to becoming a graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2008. After Dental School, she practiced in the Northeast for several years in both a community health clinic setting as well as private practice. After a brief interlude to London, Dr. Kent moved to Boulder in 2013 with her husband, Shane, and their two daughters.
Since moving to Boulder, Dr. Kent served as a Clinical Instructor for a Dental Hygiene program in Denver and has been practicing in Loveland. She is pleased to join Whole Family Dentistry and to have the opportunity to practice in, and contribute to, her local community.Dr. Kent is a practitioner of the methodologies of the physiologic approach to dentistry as taught at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (the same institute and continuum that Dr. Kalfas and Dr. Kawulok attend) and is devoted to lifelong learning.
Dr. Kalfas, like Dr. Kawulok, is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, and she was a Clinical Instructor and Fellow at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. She offered general dental care, exquisite cosmetic dentistry, treatments for obstructive sleep apnea, and Physiologic Based Neuromuscular treatment for advanced TMJ problems. Dr. Kalfas brought her practice and patients to Whole Family Dentistry in 2017 and retired in 2018. We have continued to care for the dental needs of her long time patients, they are truly part of our Whole Family.
I have been in the dental field since 1995, I started as an assistant and moved to the front desk position in 2009. I became part of Whole Family Dentistry in 2017 when Dr. Lisa Kalfas and our team merged with Dr. Kawulok and his team. Dr. Kalfas retired in 2018 and Dr. Nicole Kent joined the family. I feel blessed to be able to continue to serve not only the long-time WFD patients but the patients that came over with Dr. Kalfas that I have known for many years. We truly have the best patients!
My husband and I are high school sweethearts from South Dakota, we moved to Boulder in 1990. We have four children, a son-in-law, and a precious granddaughter. Outside of the office I have always enjoyed volunteering, watching our kids play sports and riding on the back of my husbands Harley.
Originally from Wisconsin, I earned my Bachelor of Environmental Design Degree from the University of Colorado. I joined the Whole Family Dentistry team in July of 2011 after 20+ years of being in the interior design field. My career in the dental field began as an assistant before moving to the front office. I will happily assist you in making your dental experience a pleasant one. In my free time, I enjoy all the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer, as well as yoga, cooking, interior design, and traveling.
In 2009, I received my Expanded Duties Dental Assistant Certification from Gulf Coast State College in Panama City Florida and passed the Dental Assistant National Board in the same year. In 2018 I moved to Colorado and have been working with Dr Kawulok and Dr Kent. I take pride in my 13 years of assisting experience to help you be as comfortable as possible while youre here with us getting the best care. When I am not working I enjoy making art, knitting, and hiking. Quality time in my family is spent playing tabletop, role playing games and video games together.
I started my job as a Dental Assistant in August of 2020. I had been working as a waitress at a restaurant building my customer service skills. I was born and raised in Longmont Colorado with minimal moving here and there. I absolutely love to get to know people and hear about their life stories. I currently live in Longmont with my Golden Retriever named Biscuit & my cat Rinley. Some of my favorite things to do are go on long walks with my dog, spend time with friends and family, and doing DIY projects.
I began my dental assistant training in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I started my career with Whole Family on my birthday in 2020, where Ive expanded my knowledge on Physiological Dentistry and caring for patients. In my free time I love watching and attending sporting events, spending time with my Great Pyrenees Archie and soaking up the sun!
I joined the team as a dental assistant in 2019 but you may occasionally find me at the front desk as well. In the short time Ive been assisting, Ive quickly gained a love for dentistry and feel fortunate to be a part of a team that encourages growth and provides opportunities to further my education. What I enjoy most is creating a positive environment so each patient walks in and out with a smile.
I have enjoyed a great dental career which began in the 90s in California. After moving to Denver in 2014 I felt drawn to the mountains and eventually landed in Boulder County. I love to teach and inform patients of the condition of their oral health, and what can be done to remedy a less favorable condition. When not in the office, I enjoy laughing with friends and family, and the great outdoors with hiking, biking, running, and skiing.
I was born and raised in Colorado. In 2006 I earned my degree in Dental Hygiene, in Denver. I make it a priority to frequently take courses to further my knowledge in providing comfort and care for my patients individual needs. When not providing preventative dental care, I am actively leading and serving in church and Bible study with my husband, Brian. Together we daily instruct and encourage our 3 kids in school, swim team, baseball, basketball, volleyball, flag football and artistic swimming. I also enjoy jogging and paddleboarding with my Golden Retriever and playing board games with my family and friends, especially when I win! Proverbs 3:5-6
I am from Northeast Montana and grew up on the Fort Peck Reservation. I graduated from the Dental Hygiene program in Sheridan, WY and also took courses prior at EMC in Billings, MT. Besides getting my degree, I also met my wonderful husband, Brian in Sheridan. We moved to Boulder in 1995 when I began my career as a hygienist.
I enjoy hiking, running, some mountain biking and started strength training recently and have come to love that. My passion is being a role model to the younger teens, especially the Native Americans on the reservation. I also like writing when I make the time. My husband and I enjoy spending time with family, especially our son and grandkids who live nearby. I have met so many wonderful people over the years practicing in Boulder. I love the relationships I have developed with patients. I enjoy hearing about other peoples lives.
