Dr. Diana McQuirter was born in Detroit, Michigan. From an early age, she explored her passion for learning through various math and science camps and credits her family with instilling in her the belief that she could accomplish anything through hard work and dedication.

Growing up, Dr. McQuirter also attended Saturday-morning engineering classes and considered engineering as a career path. During a career fair at her school, Dr. McQuirter discovered her connection to dentistry as a blend of math and science.

Dr. McQuirter received both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. As a student there, Dr. McQuirter worked in a research lab focusing on oral cancer. This experience was a defining moment in her educational career as it confirmed her zeal for the technical side of dentistry.

Dr. McQuirter is a loving wife and mother devoted to maintaining a healthy work/life balance. She understands the joys and responsibilities of parenting and shares that connection with her patients. When not at work, she regularly enjoys long bike rides with her family and creative endeavors, including oil painting, sculpting, drawing, and photography. Dr. McQuirters favorite photography subject is her daughter.

The New Jersey native first fell in love with dentistry as a teenager after she had her braces removed and looked in the mirror for the first time. She still remembers how good it felt the first time she saw her healthy, happy smile, and loves helping other patients experience that same feeling by addressing their dental needs.

Dr. Schwarczs proudest moments are when she can help a patient restore functionality following a procedure. She loves being able to help patients in her community enjoy the foods they love or feel comfortable smiling in public. That love of community propelled Dr. Schwarcz to dedicate a year of her career to helping underserved Michiganders with their dental needs, for which she received the 2017 Delta Dental Community Commitment Award. Dr. Schwarcz also believes that a dentist should be able to showcase their credentials to their community. She is an ADA member, as well as a member of the Michigan Dental Association and the Detroit District Dental Society.

Dentistry changed Dr. Schwarczs life in more ways than one. After deciding as a teen to pursue a career in dentistry, she spent a year studying in Israel and then got into NYU for her undergraduate degree.

Following a semester abroad in London, she returned to New York to begin preparing for her Dental Admissions Test. One day in class, a charming dental school student from Michigan named Amichai sat next to her and struck up a conversation about teeth. Rebecca smiled, and that was that. Rebecca and Amichai got married shortly after they passed their exams and spent a year living on the beach in Florida before returning to Detroit to begin their professional lives as dentists. They have a 4-year old son and recently welcomed their new baby girl into the world.

Sure, she values exercise and has a great love for the outdoors, long bike rides with her family, and hikes through the woods but she also has a voracious sweet tooth! Dr. Schwarczs newest hobby revolves around exploring the world of bean-to-bar chocolatiers, and she readily admits that those long bike rides... often end at an ice cream shop.

Her mother is a highly respected double-Ph.D psychologist and professor, and her father built a medical insurance business from scratch and reached the base camp of Mt. Everest, even as he battled multiple sclerosis. These strong role models showed Dr. Weiner the importance of family and perseverance, and she uses these lessons daily to improve the lives of others. Dr. Weiners passion for people was evident from the very beginning. In 2001, she was awarded a full academic scholarship to Colorado College, where she graduated with honors. She went on to receive several awards for excellence in research, practice management, oral pathology, and leadership, and she was the sole recipient of a scholarship for outstanding achievement in periodontics at Iowa. Her aptitude and love for surgery made her an excellent periodontist, and her passion for building strong relationships with her patients found a perfect home in the dental field.

In 2001, she was awarded a full academic scholarship to Colorado College, where she graduated with honors. She had what she describes as the typical doctor/dentist dilemma and, in fact, thought she wanted to be a plastic surgeon.

She ended up working in the ER the summer between her freshman and sophomore years of college. While she loved the thrill and adrenaline of it, she noticed a disconnect between treating the injury and treating the person. Her grandfather, a dentist himself and a role model to Dr. Weiner, suggested she shadow some oral surgeons and periodontists. After her experience, she took a leap of faith and decided to pursue dentistry.

She couldnt be happier with her choice. Dr. Weiner went on to receive several awards for excellence in research, practice management, oral pathology, and leadership, and she was the sole recipient of a scholarship for outstanding achievement in periodontics at Iowa.
