Gum disease, or periodontal disease, is caused by bacteria infection of the gums. Symptoms of gum disease include bleeding or sore gums, chronic bad breath, receding gums, and loose teeth. If it isn't treated, gum disease can lead to tooth loss and has been linked to heart disease and other health conditions. It can be prevented by brushing and flossing and going for regular dental exams and cleaning.

Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammation of the gums. Left untreated, patients can lose teeth and experience dental implant failure. Fortunately, patients with periodontal disease can reverse the effects with LANAP and LAPIP laser technology.

Sometimes damaged teeth need to be extracted to prevent risk to your other teeth and surrounding tissues. We perform extractions and offer a variety of replacement options such as bridges or dental implants.

Frenectomy is a procedure to remove connective tissue inside your mouth. Sometimes this tissue can be too tight and can cause discomfort and difficulty eating and speaking, so we perform a frenectomy to relieve the tension.

After a tooth is extracted, the socket left in your jaw may collapse. This can cause other teeth to shift positions, or the bone tissue surrounding the socket can begin to deteriorate. We prevent this from happening by filling the socket.

Tiny pockets can form around the base of your teeth and trap food debris and bacteria. This can lead to gum infections and disease if it isnt treated. Treatment involves surgically reducing the depth of these pockets so they no longer trap debris.

A flap procedure is used any time we need to treat the areas beneath your gums or around the roots of your teeth. The procedure involves surgically opening a tiny flap in your gums. Once we finish treatment, we close the flap with sutures.

Sometimes we need to lengthen the crown of one or more teeth for cosmetic purposes or to prepare the tooth for restoration with a crown. To do this, we remove gum tissue from around the base of the tooth to expose more of the tooth and make the crown longer.

Research shows that gum disease can increase your risk of developing heart disease. The link isnt completely understood. Scientists believe that untreated gum disease can increase the level of inflammation in your body, which can increase the risk of developing inflammatory diseases such as heart disease. More research is needed to completely understand this link, however.

Research suggests that theres a two-way link between gum disease and diabetes. Diabetes can increase the risk of developing gum disease. At the same time, good dental and periodontal hygiene may have a positive effect on blood sugar levels.

Plaque is a colorless biofilm that forms on the surface of your teeth. Bacteria can live in plaque and secrete acids that damage your teeth and irritate your gums, which can lead to tooth decay and gum infections. If the plaque isnt removed, it hardens into tartar. Tartar is extremely hard and cant be removed with a toothbrush. It can only be removed by a dental professional using special tools.

Have been going here for 15 years and my kids for 7 years. Never had a late bill or problem, hygienists are great and gentle. I was in there about a year and a half ago, when a young mother brought her kids in and she was 10-15 min late(maybe a little more) and the office said this is your 2nd or 3rd time being late, we can no longer provide service for you. When I wait 15 min past my appointment time 50% of the time. They may not have "raised prices" but the new Dr. Recommends way more treatments at a steep premium. Got a crown lengthening and now that I've switched doctors my new one... he said the lengthened wasn't necessary. Just in 2021/2022 I've been rescheduled 3 times. 2 of those times were the day of treatment. Then an hour before my last cleaning, I get a text you owe $75 your appointment has been canceled. Not a terrible place but seems to upsell a lot.

I am never one to enjoy going to the dentist and I find myself switching providers often. I went for my first appointment last week and from the second I walked in the door, it was such a positive experience! From the girls at the front desk, the hygienists and assistants, and the doctor- they all took the time to ensure I felt comfortable and were awesome! I will definitely be coming back for cleanings and dental work. Very professional, clean, and comforting. I'm glad I found this place!

Went in for a cleaning, under new management. Wanted to charge 3 times the normal price (I was there in September previously), need to meet dentist, have new x Ray's, etc. No warning in spite of havimg called to reschedule during COVID, claimed they would have emailed, but didn't have my email on file. They had my phone number. This new dentist charges 3x what Dr Ellenbogen was charging. A warning of the price jump would have been nice. I wouldn't have had to go in for nothing. Apparently they don't do simple cleanings under current management.

Know a few people that go here for dental work, dental hygienists are polite and professional, main doctor is a no go, seems kinda clueless and doesn't listen

First time there this morning. The hygienist I had was awesome. I'm relieved they don't have to send you out for bigger services like my old dentist did. They do everything there.

Couldn't recommend this office any less. And it seems as if I'm not alone with an uptick in 1 star ratings recently. I've been to this office every 6 months since I was very young- cleanings, retainers, fillings, whitening, etc and have always had such an amazing and positive experience. However since my last few appointments under new ownership I am frustrated to say I have been met with not only apparently new logistical issues with the same insurance company (and no foresight on the practice's part to let me know there was an issue until I showed up, three times in a row) as well as client communication skills from the new doctor that run from aloofness and a lack of care for patients to extreme attitude on multiple fronts. Some of the staff has left, and a lot of my family has changed offices but with a busy schedule it is hard for me to find the time to switch dental offices. The front desk girl was very polite, and I've always loved the hygienists, but the new doctor (/owner?) leaves something to be desired. I am a doctor myself and I would never run a practice in this manner, especially in dental care in which someone keeps that office for potentially their entire life. I am disappointed to say I will be looking for a new dental office after 20+ years.
