Dr. Michael Schut is a native of Wisconsin. He received his B.S. in pre-med Biology from Mississippi College. He then attended the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry and received his D.M.D. in 2007. He went on to complete a year of post-grad training at the university hospital in Mississippi in the General Practice Residency program.
Jamie has been serving many of our patients for 17 years. She performs hygiene at the highest level and loves helping patients enjoy a lasting and healthy smile. Jamie understands that every patient is different, requiring all of our professional skill and experience. Perhaps her most impressive quality is how she treats her patients as though they are family.
When she is not taking care of oral hygiene, Jamie loves anything to do with the beach. She also enjoys board games and activities that present a challenge. Sure, she is easy going but has plenty of energy to love on her two boys and one fur baby.
When you meet Chelsea, it is hard to miss that she loves her career. Ive been a dental Assistant for 5 years and I love it. She is always looking for ways to make our patients more comfortable and confident. Chelsea enjoys learning and makes it a priority to ask questions and learn from her teammates.
Joy launched her career in dentistry over thirty years ago serving as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Diefes. Her warm personality and extensive dental knowledge ensure that our patients feel comfortable before, during and after their dental visits. She is truly passionate about meeting the needs of our patients and helping them achieve and maintain a healthy and confident smile. Aside from dentistry, Joy loves spending time with her wonderful husband Tim and her adorable dog Sonny. She is very active in her church and is a frequent volunteer for mission work.
Nanette didnt grow up in Whiteville but she and her family love to call it home. Her attention to detail, developed over 32 years in dental assisting, makes her a natural part of our the team at Whiteville Family & Cosmetic Dentistry. Patients find her to be accommodating and always willing to help.
Nanette was born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming arguably one of the most beautiful part of the United States. Nanette met and married her husband, Sam, before leaving Wyoming. She says I am so grateful to have served as a US Air Force spouse for 16 years. In addition to her long-time husband, she is the proud mother of daughter & son, and 3 wonderful grandchildren. She loves spending time with family, making crafts, and creating works of art with cross-stitch.
Pam has worked in our practice as a dental assistant since 1988. Through the years she has established many wonderful friendships with our patients and staff members. She enjoys assisting Dr. Diefes in helping our patients with their dental health and improving that most important featuretheir smiles. She is very patient and thus works extremely well with children; she always has a smile on her face for everyone. Time with family and friends is very important to her; she considers herself truly blessed to have wonderful people in her professional and personal life.
Lynn has served as Hygiene Coordinator for our practice since 2003. She also assists other staff members, both front desk and clinical, when needed. She takes great pride in her work and always meets her tasks with a smiling face and a willing heart. She truly cares about the well-being of our patients and does her part to make sure that their experience is a pleasant one. Away from work she loves her time with family and friends.
Cindy joined our office team as a patient care coordinator in 2012 after working in the medical and dental fields for twelve years. Her experience in scheduling and insurance, coupled with her commitment to making sure that each patient has an excellent experience in our office, make her an invaluable asset to our practice. She enjoys traveling with her family, cooking and Blue Devils basketball.
Linda has been a valued team member since 1992 as a Patient Care Coordinator. Her organizational skills and dedication ensure that our office runs smoothly and efficiently. She is committed to optimizing the patient experience and she loves being a part of a practice that continues to provide the ultimate in dental care.

This was my first visit to this office for a broken tooth, and while I have anxiety, I felt that the doctor and staff provided a safe environment. The room I was in even had a window... and for me that helps tremendously! Staff was fantastic. The assistant Cindy was friendly and helpful, and made me feel at ease. Went for a tooth extraction, and the process was quick and easy. Dr. Simpson had excellent bedside manners, and was very patient in explaining each step he took during the process, which again made me feel better. Even the office staff for appointments and staffing were friendly. 5 out of 5 I will be returning for a cleaning.

I admit I was a little skittish going to a dentist in a small town for the first time. But they were in network with my insurance so I decided to give them a try. Boy am I glad that I did. Not only are they conveniently located but the staff is so very friendly and helpful. As for Dr Simpson, I've never been to a better dentist. He's awesome! This is a great dental practice in every way. I highly recommend them.

This office and staff are wonderful! I am a new patient with Whiteville Family Dentist.Being someone who has high anxiety when it comes to dental procedures, I was immediately put to ease as soon as I walked into the office. The ladies in the front office were very warm and welcoming. It was nice to be greeted with smiles. Dr. Simpson's assistant, Cindy, was absolutely amazing. She took extra time with me and was so so nice. She made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Simpson made sure to explain my procedure and took good care of me. I will be back for all of my future dental needs. I am so thankful to have found this office and it's team.

Staff are friendly, efficient and professional. X-ray equipment, dental cleaning instruments and tech equipment all appear to be the latest in dental care. My appointment was on time and the hygienist took me in quickly and I was in & out within an hour. Great service!

Dr. Black and his staff are excellent. I particularly appreciate that Dr. Black is an experienced dentist. He's very thorough and did not hesitate to refer me to a specialist for something that he did not believe should be done in the regular dentist office because of the need for specialized equipment. Additionally, the hygienists there are always very good. All staff are polite and professional. The wait time has never been long enough for me to update my contact information before I'm called back to my appointment and reminders for upcoming appointments are helpful. Finally, the office, including waiting area and exam rooms, are always comfortable, neat, and clean.

This office is GREAT!! I've been a patient here since I moved back to Whiteville in 2012. Everyone in this office makes you feel comfortable and are very nice and professional. My dental hygienist Jamie is the BEST!! She is great with her patients and makes you and your teeth feel great!! This office is definitely a 5 star or above!!!
