Ethan I. Hamer, DDS, MS was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana where his father (Scott Hamer, DDS) and grandfather (Charles Hamer, DDS) have practiced dentistry for over 70 years. He received his bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Indiana University - Bloomington. He graduated with highest distinction from Indiana University School of Dentistry where he served as the chapter president of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society, and was awarded the Student Achievement Award in Endodontics. He completed a 3-year advanced specialty training in endodontics at the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry where he served as chief resident. He has published research articles and abstracts in the Journal of Endodontics and Journal of Dental Research and is Board Eligible.
He is a big IU basketball fan and is married to his high school sweetheart and has two children. In his free time, he enjoys running, basketball, traveling, songwriting, and spending time with friends and family.

The experience was great from start to finish. I didn't feel a thing during my root canal. The staff and Doctor made me feel calm and relaxed and they were such personable people. I would highly recommend.

I really appreciate the flexibility of Dr Hamer and his staff today, in changing my appointment time. I had a good follow-up visit and Dr Hamer said I am progressing well. Highly recommend this place to anyone who needs more specialized care. My dentist referred me to this place to get a root canal and I'm so glad he did! The staff is super friendly and made me feel like a person, not just someone they wanted to get money from. They really eased my anxiety about getting a root canal, and the entire process was super smooth. They always made sure to check on me to make sure I wasn't in any pain. There was music playing everywhere, which was so nice to not have to listen to silence the whole time during the procedure. Definitely will go back if the need ever arises!

Working with Dr Hamer and his team was a great experience. I'm not planning on another root canal soon, but if I ever do I will definitely come back. Modern technology partnered with excellent skill left me in way better shape than I arrived. The entire staff was very warm and friendly. Thanks for making a painful situation so much easier than I expected.

Emergency dental work is no fun, but the staff made me feel comfortable and I experienced no pain during my emergency root canal. Highly recommend this office and staff.

Best experience.. Dr.Hemar and his staff were friendly and made sure the visit was comfortable. We went there for my wife. The hospital is well organized and clean.. The staff were knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions. The doctor spent ample time to learn about the issue and treated my wife effectively.. highly recommended!!

Very impressed with Dr. Hamer, his staff, and his amazing technology. He is very thorough and kind. I haven't had any major dental work done for 20+ years and my how equipment has changed. I trust Dr. Hamer with my endodontic needs. I just wish I didn't have any.

His bed side manner and ability to communicate with everyone is top notch! He has even stayed after his normal work hours just to help patients that are in pain. Dr. Hamer came through in the clutch for me again. I have periodontal disease so I have become quite the veteran of root canals the past decade. I got another infected root and He was able to see me in short order, cleaned her out quickly and painlessly and got me all fixed up, yet again! The man gives the softest most pain free injection I have ever felt. If you're on the fence on where to go, don't be. Call White River Endo every time. You won't regret it.

Dr. Hamer is the absolute best! I've never had a root canal before and was anxious about the whole thing. He and his staff were amazing the entire time and made sure I was comfortable and doing okay. He called the next day as well to make sure I was doing fine and feeling better. 10/10 would recommend!!
