We are excited to welcome Dr. Andrew Bjork as the newest member of the team! Although our name is soon changing to White Pine Dental, we will still offer the same great attention to quality patient care and services.
Dr. Bjork is originally from a small town in eastern Utah and attended Utah State University under Presidential Scholarship for his undergraduate degree. He graduated cum laude with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, and was then accepted into the prestigious Regional Dental Education Program to attend Creighton Dental School on scholarship. There he was trained in the most innovative practices of dental implants, oral surgery, and cosmetic dentistry.
He is skilled in fillings, crowns, root canals, implants, dentures, wisdom teeth removal, and veneers. He is excited to bring his training and talents to the Rogue Valley after spending several years as a general dentist in Utah.
Dr. Bjork is passionate about dentistry and helping his patients have all the tools necessary to make educated decisions about their oral health and how to maintain a long-lasting smile. He always strives to help patients understand their treatment plans and options, thoroughly and clearly answer any questions they have, and provide them with a positive and comfortable dental experience.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bjork believes in the importance of continuing his education in various dental courses to ensure he is up to date on the latest, most effective, and best dental care options for his patients.
On a more personal note, Dr. Bjork and his beautiful wife were married just last year and they love traveling and going on adventures together. He also enjoys mountain and road biking, basketball, hiking, serving those in his community, and exploring the beautiful outdoors of Oregon! A fun fact about Dr. Bjork is that he is fluent in Italian from a two-year service mission in Italy. In addition, he is able to communicate with his Spanish-speaking patients.
We diagnose tooth decay at the earliest stage and will do a small filling when needed. We use white fillings that are color matched to the shade of your natural teeth to help your teeth look great and also protect the remaining tooth structure. Fillings are a quick and easy process that help make your teeth healthy again.
We love having children visit our office! We help them to have a positive and great experience at the dentist. We teach them how to best take care of their teeth and develop amazing oral health habits that will last them a lifetime! Nitrous (commonly known as laughing gas) is also an option to help reduce your childs pain and anxiety during dental treatments.
Root canal treatment involves removing the damaged nerve inside of the tooth, cleaning and shaping the inside of the root canal, and then filling the space. It can allow us to save a tooth that would otherwise be lost. With our latest technological advances, root canal treatment can be done virtually pain free.
Dental implants are a great way to replace a missing tooth or severely damaged tooth with an artificial one that looks and functions just like a real one! We use a titanium post that is secured into the jawbone to serve as the roots of your missing tooth. Our office uses the latest 3D Conebeam technology to map the bone so that we can accurately position the implant for optimal chewing efficiency and esthetics.
If youre missing multiple teeth due to decay, injury, or the natural aging process, dentures might be a great solution. Dentures are much more durable and easier to use than before. We will carefully design and fit them so they can act and look like natural teeth. This isnt your only tooth replacement option, so well provide you with all treatment options and information necessary to make the best decision for you and your smile.
An extraction is when you have a tooth removed, typically due to disease, trauma, or crowding. If you need an extraction, we will educate you on proper post-care procedures and help create a treatment plan for an implant if desired in the future. Sometimes the extraction and implant can even be done the same day!
Crowns are custom made restorations like a cap that covers and protects the entire tooth. We recommend using a crown for teeth that are very broken down, cracked, after a root canal treatment, or for cosmetic reasons. Crowns are often used when a tooth has severe decay and there simply isnt enough tooth structure left to support a filling. Crowns restore a tooth back to its normal shape, size, and function, and helps make the tooth stronger or improve the way it looks.
We understand that going to the dentist can sometimes be a stressful experience. We strive to make it stress free! There are options such as, using nitrous (laughing-gas) or sedation to make your visit a stress-free and comfortable experience!
Restorative dentistry is any procedure that helps keep your mouth healthy and fully functioning. We also help with cosmetic dentistry, when you want to improve the appearance of your teeth and smile. We offer teeth whitening. We also can do veneers, which are thin coverings placed over the tooth to look like white natural teeth. If you have a cracked or chipped tooth, we also can do fillings or crowns to help bring them back to their normal appearance.
We understand that sometimes you can have a dental emergency that cannot wait! We will always do our very best to accommodate and get you in as soon as possible! Dental emergencies include: severe tooth pain, a lost crown or filling, or a cracked, chipped, or broken tooth. In the case of an after office hours dental emergency, you will still be able to talk with someone who will inform Dr. Bjork so he can help resolve your emergency.
