Theres nothing more satisfying than to have spent over 22 years in school, and after all the dust has settled, and all the stars have aligned, to realize that youre doing what you were created to do. My name is Paul White, and Im the son of a dentist who taught me integrity above everything else, and to always do whats right for my patients. As a family dentist, I noticed that many of my patients would return from the orthodontist with straight teeth, only to watch their teeth gradually shift, and re-crowd over time. I also noticed that many of my older patients who had braces as teens, now, not only had crowded teeth again, but, they also had receding gums, excessive tooth wear, and some even had clicking jaws and headaches.
I discovered that these patients all had one thing in common. They all still had an uncorrected bite or malocclusion. I knew there had to be a better, more comprehensive way to do orthodontics, and thats when I determined to find out everything I could about the proper way to correct a patients bite. In 1991, I started my orthodontic practice with a singular mission to improve the quality of orthodontic care in the Richmond area. Nothing is more gratifying to me than to see a patient whom I treated fifteen to twenty years ago for bite problems and headaches who still has a beautiful smile and a comfortable, pain-free bite. Dr White and his entire team are incredible!! I originally came to Dr White for a second opinion for my first child and have now been through treatment with multiple children. Dr White and his team are knowledgeable, professional, timely, efficient, detail oriented and honest. Dr White's goals are not just esthetics but function. Having years of additional training in jaw musculature and achieving correct bite alignment, Dr White thoroughly explained during our initial consultation why this aspect is so very critical to orthodontic treatment. Achieving more than just "straight teeth", correct jaw and bite alignment is critical to lasting results and long term health... this is what we learned we should want and expect and Dr White delivered. Having the most up to date technology, he is extremely attentive to every detail and we feel he treats our children like his own. Orthodontic treatment is truly an investment of time, energy and money and we truly couldn't be happier with all White Orthodontics has done for our family. We all of course want what's best for our kids and I honestly couldn't give Dr White and his team any higher of a recommendation!

Have used White Orthodontics for both of my kids and myself. Dr. White had the best treatment plan for my situation, which wasn't an easy one. I had consulations with 2 other orthodontists before chosing for myself and wouldn't consider anyone else after hearing their proposals. When Dr. White is done, you'll have a great bite and straight teeth. The staff is wonderful and they definitely care. I highly recommend this practice, especially if you have any issues with your bite.

I am finally posting my review after 12 years of consideration. It was my 3rd time for braces. My bottom front teeth were caving inwards and I had that space again between my top two middle teeth! I knew I needed help! The staff bragged he was the best! He said I needed jaw surgery! Why didn't I need it before? My fault I guess, but now I still have numbness in my jaw especially on one side. I got the braces and wore for 2 years, but according to his computer models, he had to "saw" one of my bottom front teeth to make them all fit again! Now, every Dentist I see says I have a chipped tooth! I say- no my ortho sawed that tooth - they are shocked. Also, on the outside of my upper incisor, he had to leave extra space so that my front teeth line up. It looks like I'm missing something. Yes, I paid double for "the best" - he is not the best! Go to a classic ortho! After that, I brought all my kids to regular ortho's and paid a fraction of the cost. Their teeth are way better than mine and will last a lifetime! p.s. Braces only on upper 4 teeth 4th grade, then standard braces 7th - 9th grade, then i had issues and returned as an adult! p.s.s. I moved away while wearing a retainer and believed I had to return there for next retainer. That was my fault as well. Now I know better. 10 hour trip each way!

As a dental hygienist I describe myself as a big orthodontic critic. I know the future consequences of orthodontics done incorrectly. I have seen jaw problems and wear on the teeth of young adults that could have been avoided. After spending thousands of dollars and years of braces I have had to tell some very upset parents their almost adult children need to correct a bite they thought was fine. My 25 years of experience in the dental field told me there was only one choice for my children's orthodontics, Dr Paul White. We have had a great experience here! I am on my second kid with braces with Dr. White. He came highly recommended by my dentist and we have been very happy. My daughter has been out of her braces for over a year and her smile is gorgeous. Everyone at the office is very helpful and responsive. My son, who is in braces, plays year-round sports and Dr. White's staff even helped him fit his mouth guard. Five stars!
