Dr. Sigmon grew up in Westtown, NY, and moved to North Carolina to attend UNC Greensboro where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She knew she needed a career that was fulfilling yet helped people feel good about themselves, and couldnt think of a better way to do that than by restoring their smiles.
After attending UNC School of Dentistry, Dr. Sigmon did a general practice residency at UNC Hospital. While in residency she worked with medically compromised and special-needs patients in both routine and emergency situations. This gave her the opportunity to refine her skills in delivering compassionate care and excellent customer service. After completing her residency, she worked in as an associate in private practice and public health.

I had a lot of fillings done here in January. It has been a nightmare since. Nonstop pain for 9 months. On the day of my appointment, I said no novocaine. It does not work on me and the needle coming at my face causes me extreme anxiety. I can deal with whatever pain that topical cream does not take care of. They talked me into novocaine but 10 minutes later, it's effects were gone. Each time I winced in pain, she says "oh you're feeling pressure?" No. I'm feeling pain because when your patient told you something you ignored them. Day 1 I had fillings peeling, sharp spots, rough/gritty fillings, and an issue with my bite that caused enormous amounts of pain. I notified them of these problems and they agreed to fix them. They never polished the fillings so they are still gritty to this day. They filed them down too far so now some fillings are too thin, causing pain when eating, the peeling was never addressed and I already have a filling that has fallen out. I have constant gum irritation, frequent headaches caused by these new dental problems. I have never had any major dental issues in my life until this visit to this dentist. I went to this place with a general trust of dentists and now I live with dental pain every day of my life and have extreme anxiety about ever going to a dentist again. I gave them an opportunity to make it right and they didn't. Oh and I had covid when I went. I tried to cancel the appointment because of that but I was told I had to come in anyway or they would charge me a $100 cancellation fee. I was told I would have needed to cancel at least 48 hours in advance. .... because covid makes an appointment too right? Update: I went to another dentist that was shocked at the poor quality of work done by white oak family dental. The fillings are soft and thin and one filling was found to have been placed over a cavity that wasn't removed. My bite has shifted, will never be the same and has even started to cause bone damage. It will take many dental visits to fix the problems that this office caused. In response to White Oak Dental, arguing semantics in a feeble attempt to discredit a legitimate concern does not undermine the intelligence of the person voicing that concern, only yours. I never said I couldn't deal with pain. I meditate which works better than the "lidocaine". That's why you never knew how much pain I was in. Having to do a higher than normal quantity of work does not constitute a lower quality of work. If a disclosure of quality sacrificed for quantity would have been disclosed, this wouldn't have ever been an issue. I would have taken my business elsewhere. I gave your office a chance to correct the issues and they were not corrected. What would make you, or anyone in their right mind, think I would go back for a third round of punishment? I found a reputable dentist on my own, thank you. Dr. Brodie Jenkins does fabulous, high quality work.

Overall, the appointment seemed rushed and insincere. The team didn't listen to what I truly wanted as far as cosmetic tweaks, they immediately pushed me spending thousands of dollars on veneers. They told me they would follow up with me with pricing from my insurance, that never happened. Not sure if they are asking clients to post reviews for money off their next service.

Great practice! Everyone was friendly and I hardly had to wait before being taken back for my cleaning. Hilary did a great job and was thorough and professional. My entire family goes to White Oak Family Dentistry. The hygienist are the best and we love Dr. Sigmon! They have never said I need extra work that is unnecessary. The office is very clean and the front office staff is excellent at communication and dealing with my insurance. The hygienists do book up so definitely schedule your appointment far in advance.
