Dr. Carl Wheeler believes in providing friendly, personalized orthodontic care. His goal is to make his patients visits both a positive and an enjoyable experience. As an orthodontic specialist, Dr. Wheeler creates beautiful smiles, and this gives him the opportunity to help people by giving them confidence and a healthy self-image.
Dr. Wheeler studied as an undergraduate and dental student at The Ohio State University from 1981-1987. In 1987, he began his graduate training in the Orthodontic Program at The Ohio State University. He received his Masters degree from that program in 1990 and began practicing with his father in Grove City, Ohio. Dr. Carl Wheeler was a faculty member at The Ohio State Universitys Orthodontic Program for several years.
In 1993, Dr. Wheeler and his family were pleased to move to Toledo where he joined the orthodontic practice of Dr. Ronald Nassar. Soon after, Dr. Nassar retired. In 2002, Dr. Wheeler moved his office to its current location on Sunforest Ct. Dr. Wheeler opened a second office in Archbold, Ohio in 1997. He enjoys working in the Archbold area one to two days per week. Dr. Wheeler became a Board-Certified Orthodontist in 1997 and believes in staying current with the latest procedures and techniques that may benefit his patients. He is one of the founding members of The Great Black Swamp Study Club of Northwest Ohio. Being active in this local study club keeps him practicing at the highest level of cosmetic dentistry and helps him to keep in touch with area dentists and dental specialists. Dr. Wheeler enjoys meeting new people through his work and helping them to achieve a beautiful and functional smile!
Hollys friendly manner will make you feel comfortable when you sit in our clinical area for treatment. Holly has assisted Dr. Wheeler with placing appliances and making adjustments since 1993. She is great with educating the patient about their new braces and how to care for them.
Betty likes to spend time with her family and German Shepherds. She also enjoys reading and working in her yard. It really makes Betty happy when she has the opportunity to attend a Notre Dame football game GO IRISH!
Jessica has recently joined our office as a front office administrator. She comes to us with 5 years of experience in an orthodontic office where she first worked as a clinical technician then transitioned to scheduling and finances. She is artistic and a people person and has two beautiful children who keep her busy.

We had a wonderful experience. The staff is amazing, so kind and accommodating! Dr. Wheeler is the absolute best! Explains everything in detail- I always left knowing exactly what is happening with my son's dental care. I would highly recommend Dr. Wheeler and his staff to anyone. Dr Wheeler and his entire staff are very courteous and professional. Being an older patient, Dr Wheeler has put together a treatment plan that is appropriate for me. We have discussed in detail my desired results, a timeline, and he fully explains each step of the process. I highly recommend this practice for anyone that is looking to improve their smile.

This is the absolute best office to take your children to for braces. Dr. Wheeler and his entire staff are top notch! They are personable, kind and take the time to answer any and all questions. We are on 2 of 3 kids being patients here, #3 is next!

This office is amazing , dr wheeler and his staff is the best , make you feel welcomed and work with you if there is any problems. This is the second time I had braces , dr wheeler wasn't the same orthodontist I went to my first time around but I wish I did I'm so happy with my teeth his work is amazing times ten if you are looking for an orthodontist he is your guy you won't be disappointed thank you to him and his amazing staff

I'm sure they must be wonderful once you actually get inside their office according to the reviews- but perhaps now is not the best time to become a new patient. It took almost 2 months to get my first appointment in and when I needed to re-schedule it to any other day (due to work), they told me that "Dr. Wheeler is particular with his times and he will look at this and see that you had to reschedule" (like it was going to be a "black mark" on my kid's record????) The office staff answering the phone suggested I just not reschedule with them. I thought odd for a service business.

Dr. Wheeler and his staff are amazing! I had braces as an adult through Dr. Wheeler 13 years ago. What a treat to return with my daughter and see the same friendly and familiar faces. You can definitely feel the family like bond between the staff and that feeling carries over to patience in care received for sure! Today was "braces removal day for my daughter!" We were in and out as usual- now my daughter is beyond excited to flash this beautiful smile! I'd like to thank Dr. Wheeler and associates for all of the care provided throughout this process!
