Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.
An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.
Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

Pricey! You'll also be recommended additional procedures that start at $$$$. If you hate your money, you can discard all of it here

Very frustrated by my experience here. Was convinced by Dr. Westphal to get 2 implants rather than a partial denture. After quoting me a certain amount, they have charged me more at every appointment than they had previously said. Today, it was $2641 MORE than I was quoted (5k total). And since I'm in the middle of the implant process, I wasn't in a position to get up and walk out (though in hindsight, I should have). Long story short, when all said and done I will have paid about 14k for 2 implants. YOU CAN DEFINITELY FIND A MORE REASONABLY PRICED DENTAL PROVIDER. Not to mention, the work is NOT done gently- I've had long, terribly painful recoveries after each procedure, and they treat you like a junkie if you request pain management. There are plenty of dentists, keep looking. UPDATE: I called my insurance provider, and they are highly interested in seeing these astronomical bills and they suspect that I've been overcharged. I'll come back and post again once the insurance company investigates further.

Another example of the rapidly growing corporate dental practices across the US that disguise their clinic with a generic "local" name to minimize their shady financial incentives. Patients are gaslighted into believing they have a severe, ongoing, dental hygiene issue that require a $300 to $700 appointments every 3 months (none of which are disclosed until time to check out). I spent over $1,000 for 2 back-to-back, 3 month window visits to address "an on-going periodontal condition" that would financially indenture me for the next few years. Every time I checked out, I felt strong-armed into scheduling an additional service with their traveling surgeon for drilling and surgery. When declining each time, their staff would reply with an ominous answer implying I was neglecting my health and would greatly suffer for it. The dentists are chatty, sloppy and I left each time with an empty wallet and a mouthful of blood. I went to another *actual* local clinic (think old, established, paid off buildings that have been around forever) who confirmed both that my condition was non-existent, and they are also well aware of these growing, greedy corporate practices trying to nestle into neighborhoods keeping patients on a tight financial leash for inaccurate diagnosis to pay off their own debts.

Dr. Erik Westphal has taken very good care of my mouth since I moved to the area four years ago... I have done multiple root canals and crowns, a night guard, cleanings, cavities, and even had to reattach a veneer that broke loose. All of the above Dr. Westphal was more than helpful and was able to get me in and out in a timely manner. His staff is solid as well!

This place is a scam they charged my insurance $138... Now I have to pay over $200. To just look at my teeth with xrays ... they never did a cleaning!!! just wanted my money .... so not happy with this place..... yeah the people who work there are very nice... but thats about it (what about first time patients special).....

DO NOT GO HERE I am having a crown replaced that Dr Westenfall did not even a year later! They do terrible work and have terrible customer service. They wouldn't give me a breakdown of my charges and am now discovering they filed with my insurance incorrectly! Seems like insurance fraud to me

Not that a dentist office should excel at this, but there is nothing warm and fuzzy about this Wheat Ridge Dentists. Every interaction felt like a business transaction, making an already uncomfortable situation more so.
