Dr. Trecha has been practicing dentistry in the Pittsburgh area for over 30 years and has developed a practice that embodies the belief that each person deserves high-quality comprehensive care in the most compassionate way possible. She has the combination of experience, empathy, and ethics that make us confident your visit to our office will be pleasant, positive and comfortable.

A graduate of The University of Michigan School of Dentistry, and a lifelong Maize and Blue fan, Dr. Trecha moved to Pittsburgh with her husband in 1987. She has two grown children who live out of state and spends her free time gardening, traveling, reading and watching her husbands crazy hobbies from a distance.

Her peers have voted Dr. Trecha as one of the Top Dentists in the Pittsburgh region for the last 12 years. She has been a member in the American Dental Association, the Pittsburgh American Association of Women Dentists (President, Vice President, and Treasurer), the North Dental Group (Vice President and Secretary) and presently belongs to the Academy of General Dentistry and the Seattle Study Club (Pittsburgh Dental Network). She attends over 50 hours of continuing education every year to stay current on new procedures and advancements in the dental field.

Dr. Joanna Alrubie was born in southern France and, as the daughter of a diplomat, found herself traversing continents and living in six countries. She is now happy to call the North Hills home. With over 15 years in dentistry, Dr. Alrubie offers her patients exceptional care, empathy, and a gentle touch.

A graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry, Dr. Alrubie earned her doctor of dental medicine degree in an interdisciplinary program that integrates world-class academics with clinical training, pioneering research, and innovation. Dr. Alrubie also earned an academic degree in dental medicine while living and working abroad. Her specialties include general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry coupled with pediatric and senior dentistry, periodontics and prosthodontics. Dr. Alrubie is married and a mom to two children. Her hobbies include gourmet cooking and cultivating her passion for interior design.

Dr. Alrubie is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). She participates in 50 hours of continuing education each year so she can offer new insights, techniques, and solutions to her patient clientele.

Mary has been a dental hygienist for over 40 years and has recently taken on the duties of the front desk and office coordinator. Her caring nature and friendly smile will welcome you on the phone or in the office and her years of dental experience are an asset in answering any of your questions. Mary is a graduate of The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Hygiene and has worked with Dr. Trecha for the last 20 vears. Mary loves being active outdoors, walking her dog Tanger, riding bikes and hiking with her husband and traveling to new places. Her passion for birdwatching has taken her to exciting states and countries like Alaska, Hawaii, Belize and Norway. She and her husband live in Wexford and have three wonderful children; a daughter in NYC, a son in Texas, and a son at Penn State.

Brenda joined our team in 2019 with a degree in office administration. She brings her 35 years of experience in welcoming, scheduling and assisting people with great attention to detail. Brendas goal is to ensure both our patients and our teams needs are met through encouragement and a kind word. She enjoys being part of our team as we all work together, each doing our part to successfully and thoughtfully support each person. Brenda and her husband have 2 adult daughters and enjoy living in Cranberry near her parents. Together she and her husband have fun updating, redesigning and flipping houses.

Debbie has an astounding 30 years of chairside experience with a certificate in Expanded Functions Dental Assisting from the University of Florida. While her skills are outstanding, Debbies top priority is the comfort and safety of her patients. With her strong faith in Christ and empathetic nature she can reassure even the most nervous patient. Debbie also possesses a great sense of humor which keeps her co-workers giggling. Debbie resides in Portersville with her husband and college aged sons. In her free time, Debbie enjoys her cats, crossfit, scrapbooking and in the summers runs a shaved ice business, The Snowman.

Sue is a West Virginia University graduate with 30 years of hygiene experience. She is passionate about educating her patients and challenging them to achieve a higher level of dental health. Sue has been married for 28 years and lives in Valencia with her baseball-loving family. Her husband is a high school varsity baseball coach, her eldest son is a MLB pitcher for the San Diego Padres, and her middle son is a pitcher for Mississippi State. Her daughter is in high school, plays travel fast pitch softball, and occasionally helps in our office. No wonder she is such a great team member!

Tonja has been a hygienist for 32 years with a degree from Temple University. Her cheerful smile and friendly personality make her patients feel right at home. Tonja has been a valuable part of this practice prior to Dr. Trecha owning it. While working part-time in our practice, and in two other offices and raising her 4 beautiful children, Tonja has limited free time. When she does get a minute, she enjoys horseback riding, watching movies and cheering for her kids as they play an assortment of sports.

With over 18 years of experience as a dental hygienist, Karen joined the team at Dr. Trechas office in 2014. She brings youth, energy and phenomenal organizational skills to our office; and her caring nature and gentle technique are perfect for patients of all ages. Karen graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a dental hygiene degree and also worked as a dental assistant prior to that, developing the uncompromising professionalism she displays every day. Karen has lived in the Pittsburgh area her whole life and despite being able to pass for a teenager, she is a married mother of 4 children, including a set of twins. In her free time, Karen enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Nikki is a Clemson University Graduate and earned her degree in Dental Hygiene from Fortis Institute. She chose to become a hygienist because she believes oral health is essential to general health and well-being at every stage of life. She became a part of the Wexford Dental Arts team in 2018.

Nikki loves discussing travel with her patients. In 2019, she was honored to get the opportunity to do volunteer work in Nicaragua with Hearts, Hands and Smiles and she enjoys working with Missions Of Mercy and Team Smile Pittsburgh. She has traveled the world and lived in many exciting cities including Austin, San Diego, London and Denver. She grew up in Northwestern PA and moved back to Pennsylvania in 2016 to be close to family and spend time with her young nieces.

Rasha graduated from Duquesne University in 2018 with a bachelors degree in biology. She started working with us February of 2019 as an auxiliary assistant and she is looking to apply to dental school, her goal is to become a dentist in the future.
