Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.

An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.

Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

I just loved my dental hygienist and dentist. Andrea is very thorough, explains everything she will do etc. Dr Cook is the same way, both very patient and wonderful to patients...at least on my part!

I contacted wp for a checkup and clean. And have been a customer of theirs for many years and never had the same dentisti... that should have been my clue to beginThey took X-rays and then the hygienist did her check up and the report was: I needed a super deep clean, showing signs of gum loss, 2 crowns, and I had periodontal disease. I have insurance and the cost for me to pay, was to be around $650-$750 range that day. The insurance was to be around $4000ish... I was very disappointed and have been very disappointed with this company, their unprofessional attitude. I was at their office for almost 2 hours, didn't get my teeth cleaned. And walked away very frustrated. Think about it, if I had periodontal disease, my gums would be bleeding, sensitive, and I would be in pain. They never asked me how I was feeling, if I had bleeding gums, etc... Subsequently, I went to a local dentist office, sat with a hygienist of 22 years who also x rayed my teeth and the dentist checked everything as well. Guess what, none of those items were present.. do not use this company they are not concerned about you the patient. Even though my insurance provider covers the cleaning and check ups. I will never darken the doorstep of this company again. Oh, I've been a customer of theirs for many years and never had the same dentisti... that should have been my clue to begin with...

I don't have the words to express how impressed I was with the entire staff. Having an incredible fear of dentists combined with needing some potentially painful procedures, I actually was able to come out of that chair without experiencing any pain, feeling calm, & knowing I had been in good hands. My son was also treated as well & shared with me that his experience was very much similar. I do want to mention that Dr Matthew Gessell, DDS, was incredibly caring & made sure I'd not experience any pain. I would not ever recommend anyone within the healthcare business unless I had complete confidence in them. I most certainly recommend West point modern dentistry. I would like to mention a few names, & I know there's many I'll have forgotten (I apologize) Megan who assisted as well as Andrea who did incredible work on deep cleaning my teeth., & of course Carolyn as well. They all placed the patient as the priority vs trying to overschedule in order to make more money by getting patients in & out the doors quickly as possible. They spent time explaining everything, & we're seriously the best staff I've ever experienced in a healthcare environment. They actually care about people, & even donate their time & labor once a year to provide free or discount services for those who cannot afford them. Very rare to see in business today. God Bless these people!

Had a great experience here! I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist, but Dr. Gesell made me feel at ease! I had to have two fillings done, he was gentle and efficient! I will definitely be back.

The staff are so very attentive and kind. They have never steered me wrong during exams, treatments, or billing. But I must mention an opportunity: The recently added e-check in process. It's inconvenient and a hassle if your phone service is so-so. It begs the question what the point is when we still have to answer more questions after completion. If it was a hassle for me, I can only imagine how it's going for elderly and under-privileged customers. I saw an older gentleman so confused in the lobby on my way out, and I felt for them. It puts them at a disadvantage. I am so sad to see more and more places requiring technology and giving less time of day for human interaction.

This place is a total rip-off. They misdiagnosed me and my daughter and wanted us to get stuff done that wasn't even needed. Went to another local dentist and was diagnosed completely differently within a month. I've heard of Dentist scams making you do unnecessary work. These guys are pro's at it. Beware...

I had originally gone to this location in 2013, and did not return after my first visit. I remember the reason had something to do with them trying to charge a large amount of money for something - potentially my wisdom teeth, which I wasn't sure I was going to get taken out anyways. I remember them being pushy and treating me with disregard. They also had upset my mother in those years as well. Making her wait over 30 minutes for a doctor to come in, and tell her no, that she would not be cleaning her teeth, insisting that she must pay for the upgraded cleaning, or they would not be touching her teeth. I unfortunately am on an insurance plan which only allows me to go to this establishment. I went in knowing that I have gum issues, and that I would eventually need to have an upgraded cleaning done. Everyone was decently nice this visit, but after showing me that it would cost over $1,200 for the deep cleaning I declined, and requested they just do a traditional cleaning (I'm switching insurance plans this coming September, so wanted to get another quote) They refused. They would not clean my teeth unless I would spend the amount stated. I find this very hard to digest since it is my choice whether to get the deep cleaning or not. I can understand that they may use the excuse of "necessity," but I can't afford that price, so instead of cleaning my teeth to help maintain for the meantime they just refused service to me. Allowing my teeth to remain dirty and causing me to have to pay out of pocket for another dentist.

Dr. Gisel and his team were the absolute best! I had an emergency and no other dentist I talked to could/would help me. I was told I needed an oral surgeon by 4 other dentists here in New braunfels. I found Westpointe and Dr. Gisel worked for hours even after the office had closed due to the nature of my emergency and the amount of pain I was in. They made sure I was in no pain, during the procedure, and they did a fantastic job! They were more than fair on their prices and even let me make payments. there's no one else I will trust to handle my dental needs. I can't thank you guys enough! -Kara

Kudos to Dr. Matthew Gesel and Jacey Maritza, the dentist and assistant who worked tirelessly to remove two teeth that were abscessed and according to other dentist could only be removed by an oral surgeon ca. . These two health professionals are extrodinary in their field. They were kind caring and concerned with their patient ,my daughter Kara Binnicker. I would recommend this dental service to anyone . Excellent job Dr. Gesel, and Jacey Maritza. YOU ROCK !
