Dr. Chung after 5 years of practice in Neibauer Dental Care decided to leave corporate dentistry. After an exhaustive search, Dr. Chung purchased Westphalia Dental formerly Dr. Leonard Bers DDS. This practice had been serving the Upper Marlboro community with exceptional skill and devotion for over 30 years! Westphalia Dental Implant Center hopes to be the antithesis of corporate dentistry, where patients are afforded the time and attention to receive quality personable care. With a wonderful and exciting staff along with cutting edge technology and a doctor striving for excellence, Westphalia Dental Implant Center is a caring and comprehensive dental office that exists to raise the bar in dental care.

Dr. Chung comes from a family of physicians. He was expected to adopt the same path. His education was catered to facilitate this path and ultimately led him to attend the prestigious Yonsei University Medical School in South Korea. While in Korea, Dr. Chung taught English and served as an adjunct martial arts instructor for ROK Special Forces.
Dr. Chung eventually left South Korea to return to the U.S. He briefly attended law school, but quickly realized that his calling was, in fact, in the medical field. During this transition, he met his wife, a jewelry designer. He also received training in aesthetic and wax carving which served as the impetus behind his entrance into NYU College of Dentistry.
Dr. Chung completed a general practice residency in Jersey City Medical Center where he was introduced to implants and third molar extractions. Since then, he has piously and vigorously continued to enrich his implant education through the AAIDs (American Academy of Implant Dentistry) Maxicourse, an intensive year-long training compendium with courses through International Academy of Dental Implantology.
Michelle was born in Washington DC and raised in Charles County, Maryland. At the age of nineteen, she enlisted in the United States Air Force and completed her training as a dental assistant. After tours of duty in Bitburg, Germany and Yigo, Guam, Michelle returned to Maryland and continued her career as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA).
Appreciation for the field of dentistry, along with its overall impact on total health, prompted her to pursue her passion for achieving the next level in her career. In 2015, after over twenty years as a CDA, Michelle acquired her Associate of Applied Science degree in dental hygiene from Fortis College. Her desire to provide optimal and compassionate care is evident with every individual she encounters.
When Michelle is not doing what she loves by providing exceptional care, she enjoys traveling especially to an island with Jamaica being her all-time favorite. Other hobbies include meeting new people, spending time with family and friends, and anything that involves Prince or the color purple!
Jaci was born in Alexandria, Virginia but moved to Maryland when she was 6 years old. Jaci graduated from Potomac High School in 2018. Jaci fell in love with dentistry when she was introduced to it in June 2020. Jack took to dentistry as a fish takes to water, loving surgical procedures as well as the aesthetic aspect. Jacis favorite part of her day is making people smile.
Carson has been practicing for 20 years in dentistry. He loves engaging with patients and his priority is to provide people with quality, honest, and sensible dental treatment. His family is his motivating force. They keep him grounded and extremely busy. He enjoys his job and looks forward to serving the community.
Nika was born in Washington DC but moved to Prince Georges County in 1998 where she earned her high school diploma from northwestern high school in 2001. After high school, Nika worked at a nonprofit company for 10 years until the company went out of business. In 2012 she was blessed to have the opportunity to enter the dental field.
With over 9 years experience in dentistry, she has had the opportunity to work with and learn from some great doctors. Nika is very knowledgeable when it comes to consulting or talking with patients when it comes to dental treatment and procedures. She prides herself on being a people person; making her personal goal to ensure the patients first visit is not their last.
Born in a small country called El Salvador located in Central America, Yenifer is the third child out of four daughters. She moved to the states at the age of eleven, living in Virginia for a little while but then moved to Prince Georges County where she currently resides.
Yennifers passion for working with people, always having a positive attitude and networking skills has guided her into the world of dentistry. When Yenifer is not working, she loves to hang out with her family and friends, enjoy learning new things and taking care of herself.
Melvas intensive training in fast-paced environments has prepared her for all situations, and her compassionate nature makes patient care a natural fit. Her dental background consists of attending seminars, completion of education courses and working in various areas in dentistry such as endodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry.
With her strong leadership skills and strategic thinking abilities, she ensures that the administrative functions run smoothly while improving the quality of patients lives through excellent dentistry and communication.

10 star if I could. I've been suffering from a very very bad tooth that needed a root canal for a long time. I was in excruciating pain and called that morning to get a same day emergency appointment. They took me in that morning - no wait time when I arrived. The staff was incredible. Dr. Chung is a dental magician, I felt no pain during the numbing and none during the root canal procedure. He was so thorough, consistently checked in to make sure I was okay and to top it off the office has massage chairs for patient procedures. I was so comfortable I almost fell asleep. 10 star - I'm only going to Dr. Chung from now on.

1 word... FANTASTIC!! Dr. Chung and his staff are nothing less than what everyone looks for in a dentist. The front office staff is professional and friendly. JC's bedside manner is phenomenal and Nika's help and communication was well appreciated. Dr. Chung removed my WISDOM TOOTH in less than 10 min, with NO PAIN! He's spectacular! If your looking for a dentist, this is THE place to be!

Hands down the best service I've gotten in a while, I went online at around 1 am to get a call back for an appointment they scheduled for the same day. From when I walked in to when I walked out it was nothing but good energy and vibes and Ms "Purple rain" is the most enthusiastic and friendliest person I've met it doesn't even feel like your being serviced by a stranger it's like talking to a family member. The way she cares for you and makes sure you know what's going on is beyond words! If you're looking for a dentist I 100/10 recommend coming here you won't be disappointed.

I really love this dentist, everyone from the front desk, to the hygienists to the Dr. Chung himself are absolutely wonderful. I've been coming here for over three years, and I will continue to do so. Michelle has been amazing at helping me correct years of gum damage, and Dr. Chung has seen me twice for emergency wisdom teeth extraction. Every time that I go, whether it's for scheduled treatment or an emergency visit, the entire staff has been accommodating and welcoming. I appreciate that Michelle and Dr. Chung are also very attuned to their patients's sensitivities and pain level...they are NOT stingy with the anesthesia and they're willing to take their time to get the job done while making sure you are as comfortable as possible. 10/10 I definitely recommend.

Would give ten stars if I could!! Absolutely the most relaxing and enjoyable dental experience I have ever had! I fell asleep getting a root canal! The staff has amazing "bedside" manner from start to finish. Very gentle and informative. I had two procedures done in the same day and I am still impressed by the lack of pain I'm in after. I had a tooth pulled and a root canal done THE SAME DAY, on the SAME SIDE of my mouth. Talk about pain management! Would (and am) definitely recommend their services! And I'd schedule an appointment just to be in the energy they bring to the office!

Dr. Chung and his team are amazing! I really don't like going to the dentist (don't think many people do) but Dr. Chung and his team make it a nice experience. I've had fillings and a root canal done and they were painless and quick. His team are very friendly and helpful, answering any questions I have and following up after procedures. Hidden gem of a dentist in Upper Marlboro!

My grandson (8 years old) had his first visit here and I was so impressed! The office was super clean and the staff was super nice. They greeted my grandson by his first name when we arrived. Dr Bo was amazing and my grandson was completely at ease through his entire visit. Dr Bo was very engaging with him showing him the xrays and answering all his questions. At 8 years old, my grandson felt good about being able to speak for himself. The staff as I said was super nice and courteous. Im so glad I found this dental office. Also booking an appointment was very easy! They fit him in the next day after I called. To me, that shows that they really care about the patient. I must make an appointment for me next!
