A native of Westlake Village, Dr. Chen, a Thousand Oaks Family Dentist, attended Westlake High School, class of 89 and received his undergraduate degree from the University of California Irvine. Dr. Chens dental degree is USC School of Dentistry.
Because of his dedication to the art of dentistry and his compassion for people, Dr. Chen spent five years volunteering with mobile dental clinics, helping underprivileged children get the dental care they need.
As a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Santa Barbara Ventura County Dental Society, Dr. Chen is dedicated to many hours of continuing education to keep up to date with the best technology, materials, and newest dental and orthodontic techniques, thus offering you and your family the most advanced personalized dental care available.
I really enjoy coming to work with Dr. Chen and our team and Ive been doing it everyday since 2006. Each day provides new and exciting opportunities whether Im learning a new technique or meeting a new patient for the first time.

I've been to a lot of dentists over the years, and I can tell that Dr Chen's skills are the most craftsman-like I've ever seen. He's got a calming and no nonsense approach.

I go to Dr. Chen because he is very honest and professional. He does not recommend unnecessary procedures and truly cares more about your dental health than making money. The office is beautiful, pleasant and calming. Best of all, he is gentle and caring and when he works on you, it's not painful!!

State of the art equipment, very professional and friendly staff... Dr. Steve is great!! he has a very calming demeanor and my teeth never hurt after a cleaning.

Scheduling is convenient/flexible with good follow up and very little waiting around; I'm usually sitting in the chair minutes after arriving. They have a good admin staff - Maria does her homework and knows my Dental Plan coverage better than I do! Dr. Chen is a good communicator and tells you exactly what needs to be done. I like the way he works and feel very comfortable sitting in the chair whether he is pulling a tooth or just cleaning my teeth. I've been a patient for several years and have been very satisfied with his care; he also stands behind his work.
