Dr. Micah Westmorland grew up in Morristown TN. He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and Walters State Community College. He graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center School Of Dentistry in 2004. He has been in private practice since 2005, practicing in Newport, TN since graduation. Dr. Micah meet his wife Christel in Memphis as a classmate in dental school. They have been married since 2005 and have been practicing dentistry together since 2007. Dr. Micah has devoted himself to continuing education, placing the health of his patients as his top priority. Dentistry is a continually changing. New techniques, materials, and technology have improved dentistry and Dr. Micah is always eager to learn something new that will benefit his patients. In 2019, Dr. Micah became a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. He was required to take a 4 hour test and participate in 500 hours of differing subjects of dental continuing education. Dr. Micah is an avid musician. Throughout high school and college he played in several bands and traveled playing venues across the country. He still enjoys playing his guitar, piano, bass, banjo and mandolin whenever he gets the opportunity. In 2015, Dr. Christel and Dr. Micah expanded their family and team and welcomed Leo, a 16 lb. miniature poodle. Leo is a certified therapy dog and is great with anxious patients or people in general. He loves playing with his foxie and lying in the warm grass. He happily goes on hikes with Drs. Micah and Christel, sniffing and saying hello along the way.
Dr. Christel Westmorland grew up in middle TN, but now calls east TN her home. She attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and received a bachelors degree in Biology with a minor in business administration. While she was at Martin, she knew she wanted to go into the health field, but wasnt sure where she could help the most. She discovered dentistry while glancing through college magazines. She had never even considered dentistry, then did some research and observed at her dentists office and decided dentistry was the profession for her and never looked back. She graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science School of Dentistry in 2004. She completed a 1 year General Practice Residency at the Memphis VA Medical Center in 2005. Shes been in private practice since 2005, practicing in Newport, TN since 2007. I may not be from Newport, but this is home for me. Her favorite aspect of being a dentist is getting to see someone with a low self esteem and give them the knowledge to take care of themselves which many times begins with their oral health and then watch their self esteem and confidence go up exponentially from where they were when you first met. You get to be a part of that familys life. You see them every 6 months or more and bask in their accomplishments and suffer with them through heartache. My patients are extended family. Dr. Christel has devoted herself to continuing education, placing the health of her patients as her top priority. I take 100s of hours of continuing education a year, because dentistry is always improving materials, technology, and techniques, and I want to bring that knowledge back to Newport, TN and give my patients the best care possible. Leo joined the family & practice in 2015. He is Dr. Micah and Dr. Christel's only child. He is a registered therapy dog. Leo usually knows when patients are anxious before the team does. We all love having him and the comfort he provides to our patients. This sweetie loves everyone!

Amy Rymer is a Registered Dental Hygienist from Bybee, TN. She graduated from Walters State Community College with an associates degree and then at East Tennessee State University in 2004 with a bachelors degree in public and allied health. She has worked in the dental field for over 20 years, with 16 of those years as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She has been at Westmorland Cosmetic and Family Dentistry since 2005. She is certified in CPR BLS AED training, nitrous oxide administration and local anesthesia. Amy attends a variety of continuing education courses that keeps her job interesting and exciting. Amy is a specialist at understanding the importance of a healthy smile. Her favorite part of her work is getting to know the individuals she cares for very well. Having a personal relationship with you allows Amy to be your advocate for maintaining a beautiful, healthy smile for a lifetime. She and Drs. Micah and Christel Westmorland work closely together to help you learn how to be proactive in caring for your smile. Amy resides in White Pine with her husband John and together they have a daughter, Allie. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping and cooking.
Stacy is a registered dental hygienist. She has been excelling in her career for over 25 years and brings much experience and enthusiasm to our practice. She began her education at Walters State CommunityCollege by receiving the Tennessee Board of Reagents Scholarship for outstanding merit and academic achievement. She was then accepted into the dental hygiene program at the University of Tennessee, Memphis where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree at one of the top dental hygiene programs in the nation. She received the American Dental Hygienists Association Institute for Oral Health Scholarship for outstanding leadership and academic accomplishment on a national level. She received the Tennessee Academy of Dental Hygiene Award for the outstanding dental hygiene student chosen by the faculty of the Dental Hygiene Department and graduated with high honors. She feels one of the most important aspects of practicing dental hygiene is educating her patients on prevention and treatment of gum disease while customizing her patients home care to each individual patients needs. Stacy is also certified in CPR/BLS training, administration of local anesthesia, and nitrous oxide administration. Besides practicing dental hygiene, Stacy also loves spending time with her husband, Mark, and two wonderful children, Tyler and Emily.
Andrea has been with Westmorland Cosmetic & Family Dentistry since May 2004. She has been a licensed Registered Dental Assistant since 2000. She has been involved in dentistry since 1998. She is certified in coronal polishing, monitoring nitrous oxide, dental radiology, and CPR/BLS/AED training. Andrea is Dr. Christels main assistant. She enables Dr. Christel to do her absolute best work while she focuses on keeping you comfortable. Andrea earned her dental assisting license at The Oakridge Methodist Medical Center. Andreas focus is to keep her patients comfortable and relaxed while having their treatment completed. She loves seeing patients excited about having a new smile and gaining the self-confidence that they deserve to have! In Andreas free time she likes to spend with her family and friends. She is married to Mark and has two children, Addison and Bentley. They currently reside in Newport, TN. She also enjoys shopping and spending time with family and friends.
