Dr. Paul Arfanis believes in a whole health approach to dental care. Why is that important? If you find a problem in the mouth, you may find an early indicator of much greater health problems down the road. Dr. Arfanis has helped patients avoid critical health issues by performing thorough examinations, explaining the findings, and referring them to their physicians for further testing.
Dr. Arfanis grew up on Long Island, New York. He pursued his undergraduate education at Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania and received his dental degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. He completed a residency for dental implants at the Misch Institute in Michigan. Dr. Arfanis began his career in Washington D.C. moving to New Jersey in 1980. He opened his private practice in New York City and the second location in New Jersey. In 1989 moved to Westfield and opened his private practice on Prospect Street before moving to 228 Saint Paul Street in 1996.
Dr. Arfanis and his wife of 26 years have a son, Derrick, a student at Westfield High School. Dr. Arfanis is a member of the Optimist Club of Westfield because he believes in the power of positive thinking and helping the youth of today finds their way in life. He is proud to have inspired some of his young patients to pursue their own careers in dentistry. Dr. Arfanis also participates in local Habitat for Humanity projects. Outside the office, he enjoys astronomy, physics, and taking his family to the American Museum of Natural History.

Dr. Arfanis is very thorough. I am new a patient of his and am very impressed with the level of care he provides to his patients. He looks at your mouth health holistically and spent over an hour examining me six ways to Sunday which I have never experienced in a dentist before. In addition, his staff is very friendly and well trained and his office has excellent COVID-19 protocols. I recommend Westfield Family Dentistry.

We've found that an issue often resolves itself without having to go through extensive dental treatment. Dr. Arfanis always gives options when treatment is needed, and he's available for emergencies.
