Western Dental & Orthodontics - General dentist in Van Nuys, CA

Weve been making quality care more affordable since our founder, Dr. Curtis Beauchamp, opened his first office in 1903. Like a lot of visionaries back then in Los Angeles, he did a lot more than start a practice. He opened up dentistry to the people and championed the idea that everyone should have good oral health.

He did it by delivering excellent care at affordable prices and letting his patients pay over time. Back then, they called it 'Credit Dentistry.' These days, it 's how almost all of us afford the braces, root canals and implants we need.

By the 1930s Dr. Beauchamp and his son, Dr. Robert F. Beauchamp were treating thousands of patients at multiple locations. Fast forward to today, and we serve over 1 Million people a year in four states.

The first visit for X-rays they took me in right away and everything went well. For all the other appointments they made me wait an hour or longer before being seen. I made one appointment to see both the orthodontist and dentist both appointments were an hour apart I never got to see the orthodontist because I waited a whole hour for them to tell me I had to reschedule and waited an additional 30 minutes to see the dentist. I had scheduled another appointment at the time when they opened back up from lunch ( they shut down an hour for lunch) They never opened back up on time and I waited up to 20 minutes and the office was still closed so I ended up leaving. I had scheduled an appointment for a dental procedure I needed 4 fillings the doctor only did one filling and it was rushed. I had came in for a deep cleaning and in the middle of my deep cleaning the doctor stopped and went to help another patient while I waited up to 15 minutes or longer before she came back that's just ridiculous. When you are working on someone you should continue until the job is finished before going to another patient. I won't ever return back to this office because it's such a waste a time and they are very unprofessional. They don't treat you with quality care your just a number to them

They only get one star for calling the insurance to verify eligibility. I scheduled an appt online and when I called the office they said they didn't see my name on the schedule. They said the online isn't accurate. So they offered to schedule me same day at 3:45pm. When I got there at 3:30 they said the regular general dentist is off for 2 weeks and they had a replacement dentist but that they suggested I reschedule because there are 3 people ahead of me and the dentist is leaving at 5pm. Then when they called my insurance they said the fax paper didn't have them assigned and no code. But yet the fax had their Dentist Nairy Sekayan but didn't say Western Dental. So they said if I can call them and have them fax over the eligibility, benefits and fee schedule it would be best. So I called customer service directly took 10 min. Finally paperwork was faxed to them but I had to reschedule. I came back Saturday 10/22/22 now again they verified my insurance eligibility again they said the fax didn't show a code that they need. so now I have to reschedule again because the customer service is off on the weekends. Seriously please get it together!!! I'm done I'm never going to a Western dentist location. I think the people with Medi-cal had more luck then me someone that actually pays for DHMO. I'm switching back to PPO way efficient customer service.

Appointments apparently do not matter as after I filled out all the forms it was half an hour past my appointment time Plus the facility was not listed as being in the building per the list of facilities in the building so I took a while to find it And the name of the dental office had changed so I was looking for the wrong office name

What an easy process this has been! I mean really, who likes going to the dentist after not going for a couple years, not me! Julianna and the staff have made it really easy for me to accept I have terrible gums and they need some TLC. Julianna got me all signed up for the Gum x trays with kills a bunch of bacteria with using a specific gel in customized tray once a day for 15 minutes! It also came with a bunch of goodies too! An electric tooth brush fluoride, whitening tooth paste, whitening trays, holders for everything and more! I can't wait to get this started and feel much better about my smile!!

Avoid at all costs. I waited 3 hours for a routine teeth cleaning. The office was in chaos. Nowhere to sit. Dilated waiting rooms with part of the wall falling down. No one checking in with patients about wait times. My actual teeth cleaning was just my teeth being polished and took around 15 minutes. They tried to upsell me on products but after waiting so long I wouldn't even listen to their spiel. It is worth paying out of pocket instead of going to this place with the amount of time they will have you waste for subpar care.

(Translated by Google) The worst service, I was there for 3 hours and they only said that the doctor was not there, we had to leave without attention and there was not even someone at the reception, I only had to call my daughter to come out at the end, nobody noticed that we left the place, yes, it was terrible the service was only transferred to a room for no time wasted (Original) El peor servicio, estuve 3 horas y solo dijeron que el doctor no estaba tuvimos que salirnos sin atencion y ni siquiera avia alguien en recepcion solo tuve que llamar a mi hija que saliera al final nadie noto que nos salimos del lugar a,si de pesimo el servicio solo la pasaron a un cuarto para nada tiempo perdido

This office in Van Nuys Sherman Way is THE WORST experience I have EVER had in my entire life of visiting the dentist. Staff has so many problems with scheduling, customer service, and level of care provided. First I arrived last week at 2 for my 2pm appointment, and they didn't see me until FOUR PM. Then the doctor told me I didn't have a cavity and I had to show him where it was in my mouth. Then he said "oh yeah you do. Well cant fix it now, you'll have to come back next week." It is NOT my problem that they saw me so late and couldn't attend me. It should have been taken care of. To make matters worse, I had to make a new appt for today with the receptionist who told me I would have my filling taken care of first thing on my next visit. Come by today, and NO ONE has a key to the office. They have to wait 30 minutes for someone to open the office!!! EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Then, once I make it in to my appointment, the nurse says "oh we can't help you today because your appointment type is a check up not filling." HE TELLS ME I HAVE TO SCHEDULE A NEW APPOINTMENT FOR MY FILLING WHICH IS WHAT I CAME HERE FOR!!!! ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING AND WITHOUT ANY EMPATHY. WOULD NEVER COME BACK HERE. SAVE YOURSELF FROM THIS TRASH HOLE.
