Western Dental & Orthodontics - General dentist in Lancaster, CA

Weve been making quality care more affordable since our founder, Dr. Curtis Beauchamp, opened his first office in 1903. Like a lot of visionaries back then in Los Angeles, he did a lot more than start a practice. He opened up dentistry to the people and championed the idea that everyone should have good oral health.

He did it by delivering excellent care at affordable prices and letting his patients pay over time. Back then, they called it 'Credit Dentistry.' These days, it 's how almost all of us afford the braces, root canals and implants we need.

By the 1930s Dr. Beauchamp and his son, Dr. Robert F. Beauchamp were treating thousands of patients at multiple locations. Fast forward to today, and we serve over 1 Million people a year in four states.

This place is terrible. The office staff are extremely toxic. I came in for my scheduled appointment, and was told my records never came in. Then, the office manager tells me they don't have a fax machine, and my records have to be emailed. Which was a LIE. I have been trying to get records transferred for a month, and being told they don't have a fax machine was extremely upsetting. They refused me service, and refused to explain themselves. The office manager clearly has personal issues that are creating a toxic work environment. The Whittier office was great, and contacted the other ortho office in Lancaster to make sure I could transfer, and possibly be seen today. I'm on my way to the other ortho office in Lancaster. I do not recommend this office for service. **Update** The Lancaster office on Challenger is awesome! Professional & Compassionate! I made my appointment for Monday. I'll FINALLY get my braces tightened.

My dentist was closed, so I called my insurance company and they advised me to go here for emergency care. For starters, the front desk receptionist was sitting there with open food around medical documents where it could easily spill. I asked if I could be seen and they said no because I was seen by another dentist 2 months ago. Which is bizarre to me because the emergency care has NOTHING to do with my routine dental check up that I had. I even said I could pay cash and they said no. They were just being lazy and didn't want to risk the possibility of maybe having to stay a few minutes late IF that. Definitely do not recommend.

Came here and I tried giving benefit of the doubt but I don't know if I can now. Came here as an emergency, waited 2 hours after appointment time and was seen for five second which is fine since I just needed antibiotics. They told me in an hour my prescription should be ready. Two hours pass I call, they tell me to wait another hour. An hour and forty pass and they haven't put it in nor are they answering their phone and will be closing now. I don't necessarily think this place is a bad place, I think it's good just needs more staff such as actual dentists. They have more people running around filling stuff which is fine but there's only so much staff can do that the actual dentists themselves have to do and they can't because they're too busy with multiple patients back to back.

Save your time and money, I went to this dentist about a year ago payed a good amount of money for crowns to be done, 2 months later my crowns began to fall off . I went to the office and told them all they offered me was a new treatment plan to do the work again when I had just paid 2 months ago to do the same work . I went to another office they did a full exam and that office told me that there was no tooth structure left at all on my teeth that's why the crowns are falling off there was nothing to where the crowns can hold on to. This office gave me a quote for implants because the dentist at western dental didn't know what he was doing and shaved to much of my tooth . I've been trying to get a hold of the office manger for months now she's always "busy " or with a patient left multiple messages I don't live in the area I thought if I would sit there she would have some Courtesy for me and help me because she sees me sitting there nope she didn't care ! Waste of my time and money now I have to get Implants done and pay again, if the doctor would've know what he was doing he should've diagnosed me with implants instead of crowns. BUT CLEARLY THEY HIRE ANY DOCTOR !!!!!!

They don't care about people they make you sit there for weeks waiting for procedures just to deny you. Even when you tell them your mouth is now completely infected there's still absolutely no urgency at all they say they'll call you back and never do. They have incorrect numbers posted online then act SO attitudy when you call about ANYTHING and they have to transfer you 10 times because they have the incorrect numbers posted, taking up hours of your time and by then you're lucky if they haven't just straight up hung up on you.

The front office staff need to be trained fully on approvals for dental procedures. Turned away numerous times because of there inadequacy of not fully understanding approvals for dental work. To busy chatting to effectively do there job. They are unprofessional, and actually have the audacity to BELIEVE she was right . I would highly advice TRAINING before you find yourself in court for refusing services to eligible patients. Honesty and integrity goes a looooong way.

Only giving 2 stars because the dental surgeon is great. Otherwise, bad office manager and bad dentists. Would NEVER recommend. I went in to have some work done. I was quoted about $1,000 due to the anesthesia. The dental surgeon on the day of said the previous dentist was wrong and there would be more work than previously stated. The office manager said I would not be charged the extra since it was their mistake and the previous quote was still all I would pay. The procedure went great but I was told by the surgeon to make another appointment since it looked like there was something that the dentist missed. When I went back, the dentist asked if I was in pain and didn't even look at my teeth. She said I was fine to go home. I mentioned what the surgeon said and she looked at my old X-rays and said I was fine and to go home. There was a cavity that they missed that became a bigger issue than it should have been if they had just done their job. Then When the bill came they more than doubled the amount. I called to get it fixed back in February, paid off what I owed, and I thought that was it. I recently got another bill. Apparently the office manager (who you can rarely, if ever, get a hold of in the afternoon) never fixed it. Now they're trying to send me to collections. Don't waste your time here.
