Western Dental & Orthodontics - General dentist in Berkeley, CA

Weve been making quality care more affordable since our founder, Dr. Curtis Beauchamp, opened his first office in 1903. Like a lot of visionaries back then in Los Angeles, he did a lot more than start a practice. He opened up dentistry to the people and championed the idea that everyone should have good oral health.

He did it by delivering excellent care at affordable prices and letting his patients pay over time. Back then, they called it 'Credit Dentistry.' These days, it 's how almost all of us afford the braces, root canals and implants we need.

By the 1930s Dr. Beauchamp and his son, Dr. Robert F. Beauchamp were treating thousands of patients at multiple locations. Fast forward to today, and we serve over 1 Million people a year in four states.

The Western Dental in Berkeley they have the worst service and they are very rude. I had an appointment at 10am and I was in waiting room for an hour and half then after they took me in the room I waited for another 2 hours so I was not happy with that and I left the clinic. "Note" please do not make any an appointment with Dr. Neerumalla because she is the most disrespectful person on earth and she shouldn't be there at all. Remember We are the people that we paid tax in Berkeley and those dentists are get paid by our taxpayers Money .

Never answer the phone and when they do they leave you on hold. Great way to treat your patients. I called to have my X-rays and referral sent over to my specialist the lady took all my information and never sent anything. I've been in pain for months. I will never come back here.

This was worst experience I have gone. I had to go two times check in in paperwork. The persons in desk do not communicate well. Waiting times too long (for me it was 45 min) queue often don not maintained. When asked the representatives they simply asked for further waiting. Horrible experience! Don't worth it. Don't go there!

There was a long wait (computer trouble) but maybe that's why the place is low cost. I'm happy to wait. The staff was all nice and the skill of the treatment providers has always been good for me. I've been there around 4 times over 4 years.

Thought we were off to a good start, Western Dental was the only office that would see my daughter for a bottom broken permanent retaining wire. They gave her an appointment quickly despite being a patient who had completed her orthodontia treatment in Illinois and just recently came to school in California where her wire broke. I clearly asked if that could be replaced when I first called and then again when they called to confirm the appointment. When she arrived for the appointment, she was told they could not do that. Gave no answers or explanation as to why..... and the quoted cost for a plastic retainer was 800.00. Much more than the cost of a plastic retainer, 350.00, in Illinois. It would it would've been nice to know that they would not do a permanent wire retainer before we made the appointment. would've never even gone there. Nice trick!

This place is disorganized. I had three appointments and never got seen - the first was cancelled day of, the second I arrived for but they told me it was a 1.5 hour wait to see the dentist so I need to reschedule, and the third I arrived and the office was closed; customer service had no record of the appointment and several other people were waiting outside for appointments they had that day. Trying somewhere else, this place is a huge waste of time.

The staff and treatment were fantastic. My husband and I were fearful having not seen a dentist for awhile. The Dentist was great & compassionate, the dental hygienist was very thorough and so sweet. The lady at the desk was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Great visit and overall experience was outstanding.

You may initially wait for 45 minutes in the lobby then maybe you'll be transferred to the X-ray machine. Take X-rays for about 10 minutes Then they'll transfer you to another seat , you might wait about hour give or take. Maybe then you'll start to ask hey how long is it going to take for me to be seen?? Before you know it it might be 2 hours past the time of the appointment

They staff were friendly and professional. Over all the experience was good, but I didn't like the automated phone service. It made booking the appointment for specific procedures on specific days difficult.

Time wasting, frustrating, and incompetent would be how I summarize Western Dental. Every appointment they will make you come twice. Need a cleaning? Schedule one and then watch as you show up and are required to do X-rays and then sent home. This happened for both my first and 2nd cleanings. The 2nd one was less than a year from the first X-rays and still I needed to make it a 2 appointment visit. Think you can avoid it by calling ahead? Nope, I called ahead and was assured I would get my cleaning done in the same visit. I still got the same scammy resolution. Probably a way to scam more money from insurance companies. This place singlehandedly made me decide to pay more for a PPO dental plan vs an HMO. Avoid at all costs.
