Practice Owner Dr. Michael J. Gordon, Jr is a North Carolina native. Dr. Gordon graduated high school in Fayetteville, NC then attended the United States Naval Academy where he earned an Aerospace Engineering Bachelor of Science degree while also completing his pre-dental courses. After fulfilling his service to the U. S. Navy, Dr. Gordon earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Dr. Gordon started Western Carolina Family Dentistry in 2017. He has tirelessly worked to bring quality and care to our patients ever since. Known in the community for his effort to serve his patients with little to no discomfort, Dr. Gordon treats every visit with the goal of making it the best dental visit anyone has ever had. Dr. Gordon is passionate about staying up to date on the latest dental procedures and technology and employs his engineering background to continually improve on the science and mechanics of dentistry.
Dr. Gordon also embraces the Western Carolina community and has served as the Vice President and President of the Western Carolina Dental Society. He and his wife, Cecilia, have six wonderful children and when not in the office, you may find him camping as the Scoutmaster with the local Boy Scouts.

WCF Dentistry is full of kind and gentle staff. I had a major cavity that I've neglected to get fixed, and they were so comforting and informative. They were able to come to a solution and talked me through everything. They're very personable and care about their patients. If you're someone like me who is wary of the Dentist, I would 10/10 recommend them!

Love this place! I have to take my 6 month old son with me and they accommodate me the best they can. They don't have to but they sure know what a momma life is about. 100 percent recommend.

Love the dentist, he is very kind and gentle and does beautiful fillings making my teeth look pretty. All staff has been really kind and cool too. They're all younger and easy to get along with and talk to. 10 out of 10 would def recommend!

I appreciate this location immensely. The staff is always incredibly kind and provides the best services. I appreciate getting my teeth cleaned here because I always feel welcome. My two kids are always made to feel welcome and at ease when I bring them along since they are so wonderful with kids.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!! MY 14yr old is currently hospitalized due to required facial surgery after a botched root canal from Dr. Beachemin!!!! I'm warning everyone I can. My son was REFUSED antibiotics prior to the procedure. On top of this, the dentist lost a metal piece of a tool inside my sons tooth and left it there! Due to his negligence my son's tooth got even worse after the root canal. He got a massive infection that required surgery to his face and will now have scars. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE AT THIS OFFICE!!!

My children have been going to Western Carolina Family Dentistry for almost a year and every time we've been there the staff are so wonderful! So polite, never a bad experience! They are fantastic!

This is the best dental office I have ever been to. The staff was all very friendly, very professional and VERY gentle. I had my teeth cleaned and then later came back for a extraction, the tooth was out before I knew he had even pulled. highly recommend for anyone who is scared of the dentist

I came there on March 31, my appointment was for 9 AM in the morning, I was referred by Biltmore family dentistry. When I made this appointment I thought it was very odd, no one asked me for my insurance information nor did they ask to request my records from Biltmore dentistry. They just made the appointment for a root Canal. That should've been my first red flag. If they had done those two things we would've known prior to the hour and a half drive that I made; that you guys would've not been able to do the root canal. Instead I came to The appointment. The dentist who saw me that morning. In my opinion is very rude and here is why! After they got done doing my x-rays. The dentist finally came in. Too look at my mouth and I realized that that tooth is considered a back tooth, not a front tooth. Which my insurance Medicaid would not cover. Now this could've simply been figured out prior to my visit if the front end would've done their job properly. But that is not even where the problem lies. The problem I had yesterday was the fact that I felt belittle because the doctor said to me thanks for wasting my scheduling time. I am 38 years old and I have never in my entire life felt so discriminated against in that little three minute of time, One because I wasn't going to let him pull the tooth out and he was already upset that nobody realize that this was not a front tooth and that Medicaid would not be covering it. So instead I got the backlash from your dentist that should've been upset with the front desk people. I will never be coming back to this dentist place ever again. And I also went ahead and called Biltmore family dentistry and I hope and pray they never send anybody to you guys ever again.

This dentist was very kind to my fiance he done an excellent job! He was so nervous he had to get three teeth taken out, the dentist was so kind and understanding he done such a good job!!! I'll be recommending everyone that I know of that needs a dentist to go to this place!
