Excessive gingival display in the upper jaw, known as 'Gummy Smile', makes people self-conscious when talking or smiling. Utilization of TADs (mini-implants) and elastics (rubber bands) during orthodontic treatment remodels the jaw bone and corrects the gummy smile. Placing TADs is a minimally invasive procedure, having a long-lasting outcome compared to repeated Botox injections, which is a temporary treatment with potential side effects.

Dr. David believes orthodontics is not just about straightening teeth. The airway of all patients should be evaluated for possible signs and symptoms of a constricted airway. In evaluating the patient's airway, Dr. David analyzes CT Scan (CBCT) images of the patient's Upper Airway in treatment planning.Narrow upper and lower jaws, tongue tie, enlarged tonsils and adenoiditis are among the clinical findings in airway evaluation.Constrictions of the nasal and/or pharyngeal airways can affect Dental as well as Orofacial Development. Significant systemic issues, such as ADHD, Autoimmune Symptoms (RA), Bedwetting, Narcolepsy, Hormonal imbalances, Vascular eventsand particularly Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA); etc.can arise from a constricted airway.

Impression Free!Intraoral scanners from iTero scan the mouths of patients, capturing images to create three-dimensional dental images in minutes. Intraoral digital scans help us to create accurate physical dental models for orthodontic treatments as well as crowns and implants.

Early or Phase One TreatmentThe American Association of Orthodontists recommends a check-up with an orthodontist no later than age 7. Usually, by this age several permanent teeth have erupted, allowing Dr. David to effectively evaluate potential problems with jaw growth and emerging teeth while some baby teeth are still present in some cases, we may recommend early interceptive treatment called 'Phase One ' treatment.Addressing orthodontic issues while your child 's bones are growing gives us the ability to: Take the least invasive approach to everything from making room for permanent teeth to advancing and/or expanding your child 's jaw if necessary. Correct issues that, left unchecked, could require surgery or more invasive approaches in the future.Whenever possible, we prefer to do comprehensive or one-phase orthodontic treatment during a child 's pre-teen and teenage years. If early treatment is necessary, we prefer to keep it as simple and short as possible.'Interceptive' (early) orthodontic treatment should be done only on select patients with specific types of bite problems. Otherwise, the ideal time to straighten teeth and correcting the bite can be done in one phase, when nearly all of the permanent teeth have erupted. When needed, early treatment can: .Create space for crowded, erupting and incoming permanent teeth .Create facial symmetry by influencing how the jaw grows .Correct harmful oral habits, such as thumb sucking .Simplify and/or shorten treatment time should your child need orthodontic care later .Improve some speech problems

Adult Orthodontic Treatment 1. Metal Metal fixed braces are made from stainless steel and are most commonly used. There are 2 types, one using colorful elastics (O rings) to tie the braces and the other using self-locking clip called self-ligating brackets. 2. Ceramic Ceramic fixed braces are tooth-colored and are less noticeable compared tometal braces.InvisalignInvisaligntreatment is a technique that straightens your teeth without braces, using a series of clear, removable aligners that are custom made to fit your teeth. The aligners gradually reposition your teeth into a smile of which you will be proud.Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign has no metal bands or wires to trap food and plaque. Maintaining a good oral hygiene program will also reduce chances of plaque buildup, tooth decay and periodontal disease.

Effective for a wide range of smiles. The Invisalign system has been successful in giving hundreds of thousands of amazing smiles to both teens and adults. Dr. David will create your individual treatment plan using Invisaligns clear, custom-molded aligners to solve a range of issues, including: Crowding, spacing, early to moderate overbites, underbites, and crossbites.

A major benefit of receiving orthodontic treatment in childhood is that its possible to take full advantage of a youngsters own natural growth process to treat or even prevent malocclusion (bad bites).

Palatal expanders create more space in childs mouth by gradually widening the upper jaw. Although this may sound scary, its really quite easy both to do and to tolerate. Thats because the upper jaw actually develops as two separate halves that dont completely fuse together until sometime after puberty. Before that happens, the two bones can gently be separated and stabilized, expansion screws are built into the appliance, and when activated, slowly separate and stretch the soft cartilage of the palate over several months. Upper expanders are traditionally attached to the molars with metal bands. MAX2000 is the first keyless expander designed to help us achieve that.

Dr. David graduated from the Universityof Missouri Dental School with extensive post graduate training in children and adult orthodonticsincluding accelerated and surgical orthodontic treatments as well as utilization of clear ceramic and self-ligating friction-less brackets. He also likes to useextra wideBeta Titanium TMA orthodonticarch wires (developed by himself) for patient comfort and to moveteeth to the most esthetic positions to achieve great results with a shorter treatment time. Dr. David is a certified level II Invisalign provider. He also received post doctoral training in surgical placement of dental implants at UCLA School of Dentistry andis proud to have over30 years of experience.

I called for an urgent appointment and I was able to be seen same day within an hour. As a new patient that alone was great. The staff and doctors are so friendly, professional, and caring. Parking can be found behind the building at no cost just read the signs. The office is very clean and nice. My doctors were extremely attentive during my fillings. They explained what I needed to get done and they definitely eased my dentist phobia.

Finding the other reviewer's experience hard to believe after the one I had with the same Dentist. During my initial consultation I waited an hour until I even got X rayed. When I finally got to that point, the nurse would only X-ray the part of my mouth where I said I had discomfort. Had to beg to even get the rest of my mouth done which took another hour. When I said something about the wait time, the Dentist practically blew up in my face, saying he was seeing 5 other patients at the same time. When I finally got to the point where the Dentist viewed my x rays (2.5 hours after I walked through the door) he tried to tell me that all of the previous dental work I had needed to be redone and quoted me significantly higher than what my insurance company has listed as it's prices for the same work, even charging for preventative care that is supposed to be fully covered. At this point I just walked out (thank god), as it was obvious at this point I was dealing with a crook. I'd have to be crazy to let this guy work on my teeth and am currently in the process of reporting his shady practice to my insurance company. The ironic thing is he wouldn't have even known about these other issues that he tried to price gauge me for if I hadn't insisted on them X-raying my whole mouth, which I still can't believe I had to do.

I would give 0 star for this place if I could. My mom's insurance assigned her to this place and went for the very first time. The dr. checked her and said she needed a specialist and reffed her to wester dental. They said she didn't need a specialist, and suggest a deep cleaning and sent her back to Westchester dental again, which they said their hygienist is out for vacation for a long time. I believe she's being discriminated due to her medical condition. I'm actually planning to sue for discrimination. They're giving us all excuses and closing the door on us. Worst place ever!

Dr. Moghaddas has been my primary dentist for over twenty years and I couldn't be happier. I live in San Francisco now and whenever I need a checkup or dental work done I still come down to LA. I've never had as great of an experience with other dentists. The wait is always short, the staff are so nice, accomodating and experienced. I was able to book a last minute appointment 2 days before. I would recommend Dr. Moghaddas to anyone in California.
