Our office is specifically focused on the care and protection of children. Our goal is that every patient and parent feel safe and comfortable in our office. We pledge to deliver the highest possible level of individualized pediatric dental and orthodontic carein a warm, nurturing environment.
We work hard to address parental concerns by explaining each childs dental condition, why and what type of treatment has been planned, and how it might be prevented in the future. In all aspects, we hope that every patient and parent has a positive experience in our office.
We believe that by working together in cooperation with children and parents, most dental issues can be prevented. We stress prevention by consistentlyincorporating the use of brushing and flossing instructions, topical fluorides, diet counseling, and sealants into our daily practice. We believe that when the dentist, parent, and child each play an integral part in a prevention program, children can stay cavity free. We also believe that by creating great, healthy hygiene habits early on, children will maintain healthy hygiene practices that help them maintain dental health long after they have graduated from our practice.
In our office, we strive to do the right things for the right reasons. We recommend treatment that, in our opinion, is best for each childs unique circumstance and will treat and protect that child as if they were our own.
Dr. Katrina Chen grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and received her bachelors degree from the University of Utah. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Katrina attended Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. After dental school, she worked in private practice where she developed her passion for working with children and teenagers. After three years, she decided to continue her education, pursuing a specialty in pediatric dentistry at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. During her time in Philadelphia, she learned many advanced pediatric dental techniques and treatment options and excelled in providing safe oral conscious sedation and general anesthesia for patients whoneeded it. Dr. Katrinas goal is to be able to make all of her patients and their families feel as comfortable as possible while also delivering the highest quality of care.
After spending five years in the Pennsylvania snow, Dr. Katrina and her husband, Lee, just couldnt wait to get back to sunny Arizona. She enjoys spending time outside with her son, Greyson, and her new puppy, Luna. Dr. Katrina loves baking, traveling, biking, and exploring new restaurants in the area.

5yo waited 30 minutes in chair after a 5 minute cleaning to see dentist, just to be told the same filling has fallen out a 3rd time ( poor quality) and "we will just put a crown on it and 3 other teeth so we don't have to worry about them anymore ". ...Shopping for a new dentist.

Waited an extremely long time to get in. Wanted this location because of its close proximity to our home and great google reviews. Unfortunately, for our family this was a horrible place. The staff were hit or miss on friendliness, warmth and accommodation. While with my other child I went over to the x-ray and over heard the lady tell my older child "you will NOT be getting a sticker. You don't deserve one because you won't stop moving." She said this as the tears were rolling down the face. We will not be returning and I would not recommend.

We had a great experience at WVPD Deer Valley. Both of our children were put under anesthesia and had major work done. This team is knowledgable, friendly, very professional, and patient. The facility is always clean and we could see the increased measures they have taken during COVID to keep children, families, and staff safe. Our family was very satisfied with the whole experience. Thank you Dr. Brownstein, Dr. Hom, and Dr. Nicholson and your whole staff for the wonderful work and caring way you worked with our 2 and 6 year old. We highly recommend this facility!

Second time coming to this location after moving from Avondale. This location is amazing , clean, friendly, and the staff is beyond amazing and kind. They're great with my kids and kids in general. My 4 year old hated brushing his teeth and going to the dentist after coming to this location starting 6 months ago he absolutely loves brushing his teeth and coming to the dentist. I highly recommend this dental office !

My kids have been coming to WVPD for the last 5 years, my oldest has been through orthodontics with them as well. We have had nothing but great experiences with them, the care, treatments and service of the staff is awesome. I have a child with severe anxiety, I made mention of it from the first appt and they have always been so patent and kind with her, won this mama over from the beginning.

West Valley Pediatric Dentistry is fantastic! Their staff is wonderful. The atmosphere is comfortable and especially fun and welcoming for kids. My daughter says "YAYYY!!!" when I tell her we're going to the dentist. Best place ever for keeping your kids' teeth healthy and clean while keeping your kids happy. And parents are happy, too... They serve coffee!

I want to say thank you for going above and beyond today with your customer service!!! Terry and the team made my day by accommodating us as they were about to close. Instead of making us drive to the other location where our apt was they graciously help us. It really ment a lot! And my son had his cavitiy filled with no numbing medication thanks to the docs to let him where his headset to listen to music!!! That's how great they are with kids after going there and developing that relationship with the staff and doc my son trusts them which makes a happy mom!!

My experience has been amazing so far. I love how the Dr. Elliot Saperstein goes over everything very thoroughly. I had previously taken my daughter to a different orthodontist and they just wanted to put braces on because we know she needed them. However Dr. Elliot Saperstein took his time to show me and explain everything that was going on with my daughters teeth and what his plans were to help get her the perfect smile. It is only the beginning of a long journey but I'm looking forward to see what the end results will be.
