Our office is specifically focused on the care and protection of children. Our goal is that every patient and parent feel safe and comfortable in our office. We pledge to deliver the highest possible level of individualized pediatric dental and orthodontic carein a warm, nurturing environment.
We work hard to address parental concerns by explaining each childs dental condition, why and what type of treatment has been planned, and how it might be prevented in the future. In all aspects, we hope that every patient and parent has a positive experience in our office.
We believe that by working together in cooperation with children and parents, most dental issues can be prevented. We stress prevention by consistentlyincorporating the use of brushing and flossing instructions, topical fluorides, diet counseling, and sealants into our daily practice. We believe that when the dentist, parent, and child each play an integral part in a prevention program, children can stay cavity free. We also believe that by creating great, healthy hygiene habits early on, children will maintain healthy hygiene practices that help them maintain dental health long after they have graduated from our practice.
In our office, we strive to do the right things for the right reasons. We recommend treatment that, in our opinion, is best for each childs unique circumstance and will treat and protect that child as if they were our own.
Your child will always be cared for by a Board Certified Specialist in the field ofPediatric Dentistry or Orthodontics. With a combined experience of over 80 years, wepride ourselves in being highly trained and qualifiedin the latest dentaltechniques and materials.
Dr. Jeffrey Brownstein is the senior partner in a multifacility, group pediatric dental practice in the western suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona providing dental & orthodontic care for infants, toddlers, adolescents and adults with special healthcare needs. He is also a partner in Southwest Mobile Dental Anesthesiology, a mobile dental anesthesiology group providing office-based care in Phoenix, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Dr. Brownstein completed his graduate dental training at the Medical College of Virginia, his pediatric dental specialty training at the University of Florida, a fellowship in the dental management of Cleft Lip & Palate in the Department of Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine and advanced specialty training in dental anesthesiology at the University of California at Los Angeles. His clinical emphasis is in the area of anesthetic management of children and special needs adults, which includes providing care within office, hospital, and surgical center settings.
He serves as a clinical instructor in several moderate oral and IV sedation courses, provides medical emergency seminars, and is a certified AHA instructor for Basic Life Support training. Dr. Brownstein is also an adjunct professor in the Departments of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, University of California at Los Angeles, and Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Katrina Chen grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and received her bachelors degree from the University of Utah. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Katrina attended Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. After dental school, she worked in private practice where she developed her passion for working with children and teenagers. After three years, she decided to continue her education, pursuing a specialty in pediatric dentistry at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. During her time in Philadelphia, she learned many advanced pediatric dental techniques and treatment options and excelled in providing safe oral conscious sedation and general anesthesia for patients whoneeded it. Dr. Katrinas goal is to be able to make all of her patients and their families feel as comfortable as possible while also delivering the highest quality of care.
After spending five years in the Pennsylvania snow, Dr. Katrina and her husband, Lee, just couldnt wait to get back to sunny Arizona. She enjoys spending time outside with her son, Greyson, and her new puppy, Luna. Dr. Katrina loves baking, traveling, biking, and exploring new restaurants in the area.

Excellent experience! We went to get a consult for two teeth extractions, rendered from our orthodontist. They did the procedure same day and made for a very comfortable, caring atmosphere. The staff and dentists were A+

Wish they had a dentist office like this when I was a kid. They have really went above and beyond in trying to cater to children. There are televisions to distract the kids while getting cleaned. They also have a nice surprise for the kids once complete. They are really great at explaining charges.

the people at front desk never want too help, since I was referred over to them I've had nothing but problems. front desk will randomly hangup or won't call back when they say they will. they also will cancel your appointments without telling you. if you take anything from this review read the following I called to ask for medication, I had 2 extractions. the medication they gave me was Ibuprofen 600mg, first off I can get 500 over the counter, 2nd you think when you tell them "hey its been 3 days and the pain is just bad or maybe worse at times they would prescribe something stronger even if its just for 2 or 3 days. BUT NOPE, THEY TOLD ME DO YOU MIND COMING ON ON FRIDAY (THE DAY I CALLED WAS MONDAY) AND WE'LL CHECK YOUR EXTRACTIONS AND THEN GIVE YOU DIFFERENT MEDICATION??? YOU ARE TELLING ME I HAVE TO WAIT 5 DAYS WITH PAIN BEFORE I CAN GET SOMETHING STRONGER THEN IBUPROFEN? THAT IS NOT OKAY. PLEASE DONT GO HERE, THEY DONT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE AT ALL.

they don't care about you here at all. they cancel appointments, they are rude to people, they hang up the phones ( when they do decide to answer cause they never answer) I have to call them 6-8 times before I get an answer. the women in the front desk are rude. making slick remarks thinking you won't hear them. WGHAT EVER YOU DO DONT GO TO THIS STORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We love West Valley Pediatric Dentistry. Everyone is so friendly and patient. My son has a developmental disability and sensory processing issues, so dental and medical appointments are never fun. We went yesterday for a check up and he asked questions about every piece of equipment and everything that was going on. Dawn, the dental hygienist, was incredibly kind and patient with him. She answered all his questions and was very gentle. If you have a child with a disability, I strongly suggest bringing them here. They are wonderful!

Stuff/employees are rude, non professional, they communication skills. They need to give directions to a kid before touch them, especially when they feel nervous. Not mentioned how rude the tech-Michelle was with me. She didn't even face me when I was asking a question! No communication while they were doing my son's treatment/fillings the Dr A Spera. step out of the room without saying anything........ we waited until I had to tell her to stop the sedation if she's not coming!!.. tech said you're right I did.. this's ridiculous they just not organized and providing a horrible service. So disappointed after 20 yrs coming here they are getting worse.

Over priced place I have never gone to any dentist place that charge so much just for basic checkups ever after deductibles have been paid will never go again
