First visit to this office and was impressed with both the professionalism and ability of the staff. The reception staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. Dr. Smiley was patient in explaining dental procedures to be done and was very adept at her work. Senait was the hygienist and probably one of the best I've ever encountered. Very patient, took time to explain what she was going to do, and did an excellent job. Top notch all around!

1st time patient. Although the building is pretty sad looking (and under renovation), the office looks great. The staff have clearly been trained with a specific protocol and script for new patients. Every person I interacted with was very friendly and professional. Dr. Hoffman was absolutely stellar. Happy to have this new dentist close to home.

As always, I had a great cleaning appointment with Rose and check up with Dr. Neal. All aspects of the office were adhering to the health guidelines for this Pandemic. I felt very confident in my dental care and overall well being. West Springfield Dental Arts is and has always been an A+ office.

I wanted this to be a good experience, but it was not, unfortunately. As a new patient, I filled out the paperwork online ahead of time. I confirmed my appointment via text. I received a reminder text with a different appointment time. The office was extremely difficult to find. It's under construction. The marque inside is not well lit or easy to find and it lists two different floors for this office. The building is older and many of the offices appear to be vacant with no signage or numbers. There are no directional signs once on the floor. Was told I did not fill out the online paperwork and handed a device. I explained I already had. The hygienist was nice, but asked questions that she said were part of their new patient forms that I found to be antiquated and not related to my dental care whatsoever. She was also very rough with the X-ray and dental equipment, cutting my gums. They took extensive X-rays that they say will allow one to not have to retake for 5 years. This was before they ever did an exam or even looked at my teeth. The dentist did the cleaning. We move about every 2 years and have been doing this for going on 21 years which means I've been to a lot of dentist all over the US and in other countries. This has never happened. Is this so they can charge insurance more? Upon checkout, I explained how difficult it was to find the office and for a new patient it would be nice for the person scheduling to explain their location. Was told they do their best. I inquired about the difference in appointment times in the texts and was told they send a new time that is earlier for new patients. I explained it was confusing especially at the last minute. I inquired about the online paperwork as she had asked her office mate to look up if I had done it when I walked in and she had said no. She said yes, I did and yes, we can't find it but we are having trouble with our system. I said, all of this would be so much easier on a new patient to know.... And she cut me off. She walked away and told me I was being rude. I was not rude. I was stating facts. I was explaining to the front office why this had been a poorly experience when asked. She told me I was yelling when in fact I was not. As someone who has been in customer service, this is not how employees treat patients. She left and never came back. Her office mate listened to my concerns. Please take it from a new patient that isn't familiar with your every day routines, that this is not how you want the face of your practice to come across. Listen to suggestions and don't take offense. If a patient seems upset or uncomfortable, find out why so you can fix the problem. I will not come back.

My cleaning and examination were very thorough. The dental hygienist suggested and demonstrated home health care improvements that I could make to improve my home dental care. The dentist examined and explained the condition of my teeth and items related to complete oral care: bite, tongue, lymph nodes and other. I had open conversation with both members of the practice and they welcomed my questions regarding my dental care.

The care provided is exceptional. The technology is stellar and the care they provide is utterly amazing. I travel over an hour to visit this practice! They were able to identify a problem I was having during my initial visit and had it remedied that day. Where my previous provider had taken years and many referrals and nothing! I have been with them for a little over a year now. Contact them! They are SUPERB!!!
