Dr. Hanny Hamoui was born and raised in Brooksville, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida, where he received his bachelors degree. Afterwards he obtained his dental degree from Boston University School of Dental Medicine where he graduated magna cum laude. He then completed dual residencies in Advanced General Dentistry and Endodontics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. During his tenure he also served as a resident endodontist at the Pittsburgh VA hospital system.
Dr. Hamoui is board certified and a member of the American Association of Endodontists. He is past president of the Hernando Dental Association and participates in many local dental and charitable organizations.
Your tooth consists of two main parts: the crown, which is that part of the tooth above the gum and visible in your mouth; and the root or roots, which is that part of the tooth that lies beneath the gum and is surrounded by bone. Inside each root is a channel that runs the length of the tooth. This channel is the root canal and contains the pulp (nerves, blood vessels, and soft tissue), which is often referred to as the nerve of the tooth. The pulp may be irreversibly damaged by bacteria associated with decay, very deep restorations, fractures, trauma, or periodontal disease.
In order to preserve a tooth in which this has occurred, it is necessary to remove the diseased pulp tissue. This procedure is known as endodontic therapy. Since endodontic therapy is concerned with removing only the pulp from the root canal, the root will continue to function normally because the supporting tissues remain intact. It is advisable to remove the injured pulp because it may become infected or act as an irritant to the tissues surrounding the tooth.

Another *great* experience at Dr. Hamoui's for a root canal. My first root canal here was a breeze. And my second root canal was equally a breeze. Professional, coordinated, present and engaged. I'd say that I just can't wait for my next root canal but I'm not sure I'd go that far. Thank you, Dr Hamoui & Team.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! This is by far the BEST dental experience I've ever had. My root canals went smoothly and were as painless as it can be. He kept me updated on what was going on through the procedure so I knew how long was left and also reassured me it was going well. Dr. Hamoui is a great dentist! You are in good hands coming here!

The best dentist I have ever been to, I have had this bad molar for some time, and I was very much terrified of getting a root canal. But my face got swollen, and it was getting to the point I thought I may have to pull the tooth, but Dr Hamoui and his staff were very accommodating and explained every step of the procedure. I was still nervous but once the procedure started, I felt at ease and was done in no time. I did not feel anything and was very happy to know I could go into work the next day. I thought yeah right once this anesthesia wears off, I would be in great pain but no!!!!I feel excellent, and I am able to carry on with my day as usual. I was a little worried about price but to my surprise it was very affordable as I my insurance does not cover this procedure. I highly RECOMMEND this office for a root canal and for some good laughs. Thank you staff and DR for the excellent experience. P.S. I GOT THE PROCEDURE DONE YESTERDAY AND I AM AT MY WORK DESK WRITING THIS AS YOU READ:) (I wanted to wait a day to see if I was in any pain to give a very honest a true review.) **P.S.S. The office staff was very friendly and compassionate. Usually, when you see an endodontist your in pain, the staff and Dr Hamoui understand this and work hard on making your experience as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend Dr Hamoui.

My husband came in for a root canal he had been putting off for months because he's had such bad experiences. He came home afterward saying how much he liked your office. The office staff were very accommodating to our schedule and got him right in. The dentist did and amazing job numbing him, they were patient and kind, they called that evening just to see how he felt. They kept him at ease and made him comfortable. I can't express enough how far this goes when someone has had multiple bad dental experiences. We wish every office gave this kind of care. Thank you!

I went there because a dentist drilled my tooth too far during root canal and left me in horrible pain. first I went to another endodontist and he told me my tooth was perforated and they have to remove it I cried all days to go and see dr.Hamoui. he took some xrays and told me there is still a chance to save a tooth . he is so professional and caring. the staff are so kind and caring too they followed up me even in weekends. and they could save my tooth. I highly recommend this place especially for sensitive procedures.

I have never had a root canal before. I heard a bunch of horror stories. But let me tell you what, the entire Westshore Endodontics Team made the entire experience very pleasurable, believe it or not! Hanny was very reassuring and gentle and my own personal cheerleader! I felt very at ease and calm. I hope I never have to get another root canal, but if I do, I'm coming here !!!

I went to dentistry on swann, & after i got my cleaning & was having the area that i was specifically in for i got referred to Dr.Hani at the westshore endodonics. He was very very nice & caring. And he took care of me right away - it was also a same day referred appointment & he made sure to help sooth & further treat the pain ive been having. So happy to be apart of this practice! 100% recommended

Got my root canal done. the building was very clean, the staff was friendly, and the machines were advanced. The procedure did not take more than 20 minutes. Highly recommend for root canals.

Ohhh my gosh! The best for root canals! I gotten one root canal before and had a horrible experience, I felt so much pain even though they numbed me. Dr. Hammoui had to redo an old root canal. He and his office staff were professional and truly went above and beyond! The procedure itself was as painless (as possible, it was still a root canal lol.) A few days after the procedure, I found that my bite was still a little high & needed correcting. He got me that same day and also texted over the weekend to check in on me. Excellent care, I'd highly recommend him!

Dr. Hamoui is fantastic! I had my first root canal done by another endodontics group about 2 years ago and had been experiencing problems including pain ever since. After multiple visits back to the same group with no solution and continued frustrations, my dentist referred me to see Dr. Hamoui. Now to my satisfaction I am post oral surgery with no more pain! As a fellow healthcare professional myself, his bedside manner is to be commended. He is patient, understanding, explanatory (even during the actual procedure), and through his demeanor you can tell he truly cares about his patients. He and his team have been a pleasure to deal with and I would without a doubt make a return for any future services needed.

If I was able to give more than 5 stars I would!! This by far has been the BEST dental experience my children have EVER experienced! So professional and so gentle! I had 2 kids that went for root canals and one child for a pulp cap and they all came out smiling.
