Being an orthodontist is a wonderful privilege because it allows me to make a huge difference in the lives of incredible people. I get to provide each person with an awesome, healthy smile and develop many new friendships in the process.

I look at this privilege as a big responsibility, too, and take my job very seriously. Im constantly working at expanding my knowledge and skills, and updating our office so we can continue to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Im passionate about providing an exceptional level of treatment to each of my patients. After many years of practicing orthodontics, Im still in awe of the incredible transformations we can provide through orthodontic treatment. The aesthetic and health benefits are obvious, but the positive changes in an individuals self-esteem and personal confidence are very special and rewarding to me, professionally and personally.

I have participated in hundreds of hours of continuing education courses and routinely attend state and national orthodontic meetings. Continuing education allows me to further advance my knowledge and skills to keep pace with ever-changing technology and advances. By staying current on developments, I am able to continue providing exceptional care for my patients.

I was raised in Great Falls. After finishing dental school and orthodontic training, I returned home in 1987 and have been practicing here ever since. My wife, Sheree, is from Missoula. We married while I was attending dental school, and have three wonderful children. Our oldest daughter and son, who are twins, are attending college. Our daughter is following in her mothers footsteps and will be a teacher. Our son is enrolled in dental school. Our youngest son is currently in high school.

We love pets, raise Labrador retrievers, and enjoy the company of our miniature dachshund. Sheree and I spend a lot of time following our childrens sport activities, and their running and wrestling events have kept us very busy. In fact, my childrens running sports have inspired me to run, too, and I completed my first marathon in 2013!

It is a great honor to be part of a profession that can have such a beneficial effect on peoples lives. One of the best parts of my job is the relationships I build with my patients and their families. I truly value the opportunity to serve members of my community with the level of respect and compassion they deserve. Plus, orthodontics is a lot of fun!

My rst experience with orthodontics was when I was treated by my father Dr. Robert West as a child. I remember the transformation of my teeth throughout treatment, and what my new smile did for my self-esteem. I love that I get to provide this service to others now.

Its a joy to come to the office each morning, knowing my day will be spent talking and laughing with our wonderful patients. Each person brings happiness to our practice, and I love getting to know them. I provide chairside assistance to Dr. West during orthodontic procedures. I make sure he has what he needs, and am there to support the patient, checking to see that theyre comfortable, and telling them what the doctors doing. The best part of my job is watching each persons reaction when they see their finished new smile for the first time.

Working every day to help people develop healthy, beautiful smiles, is very fulfilling. I spend most of my day in our onsite orthodontic laboratory, carefully fabricating the essential retainers and study models. Its important these are perfect, so Dr. West can most effectively move the patients teeth in a comfortable, accurate manner. I really enjoy making the colorful retainers, and seeing the excitement on a patients face when they first see theirs. They cant stop smiling!
