Dr. Cory Fortson is a third-generation dentist following the career of his Grandfather and Father. Fortson Family Dentistry was started over 30 years ago by Dr. Raymond Fortson, Jr., who went by 'Bo'.
Dr. Cory Fortson joined Dr. Bo in the practice in 2014 after graduating from The University of Detroit Mercy Dental School and took over the practice when Dr. Raymond Fortson, Jr. passed in 2016. The team members at Fortson Family Dentistry pride themselves on the family atmosphere they've created for their patients as well as team members.
Fortson Dentistry has grown to 5 locations with the addition of the Gentle Touch and Milford practices in 2021. Our goal at Fortson Dentistry is to provide top comprehensive dental care within our group practice. In addition to our hygiene patients and routine procedures, we take on more complex procedures such as oral surgery, bone grafts, sinus lifts, braces and Invisalign, endodontics, and dental implants and we have skilled doctors to perform these procedures in-house in most cases. Currently, all specialty services are performed out of our Lathrup Village - South and Milford offices.
Fortson Family Dentistry utilizes top diagnostic technology to provide the best possible care for our patients. We utilize a Vatech Green CT, a Dental Cone-Beam CT scanner, which has improved its x-ray sensors to create high-quality images with a relatively low dose of radiation. Used in tandem with advanced 3D Imaging Software; our Doctors get a detailed look at your overall dental health.
We also use various Intraoral scanners such as the Medit i500 and iTero to create digital impressions of your oral anatomy for crowns and clear aligners. These scanners are more efficient and accurate than traditional impression molds, so you can start your treatment sooner.

I have had many issues with my teeth since I was a young child. I was born with 9 missing teeth. I met Dr Fortson to get a second opinion. I found out I was only chewing on two teeth and my jaw was not in the the right place. I had surgery 4 weeks ago. I had a prosthesis on top placed and additional implants on the bottom. There was minimal pain that was managed with ibuprofen for a few days. No brushing. I left with a temporary prosthesis and they are absolutely beautiful. I was able to eat soft foods right away. I had Dr Fortsons personal cell number in case I had any problems. The staff is always amazing. I even got scared after a week that they weren't ok and they got me in the same day to check. It has been a very good experience and I'm so glad I choose Dr Fortson and his amazing staff.

I am a new patient at Fortson Dental, and so far I am extremely pleased. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Dr. Kroll is very attentive and takes the time necessary to listen to her patients' concerns. The hygienist Jennifer was great as well!

Dr. Fortson is the best! I was having a lot of pain and I was told that I needed a root canal so I went to him for a second opinion. I ended up needing my bite adjusted and I was diagnosed with TMJ.I am now pain free and so happy!

My husband recently had four teeth removed in preparation for a partial denture. He gave Dr. Fortson RAVE reviews not only for the quick removal of the teeth, but virtually PAIN FREE removal. He had no complications following the surgery, and Dr. Fortson personally reached out the following day by calling to make sure everything was going well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dentist!

I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Fortson and the entire staff here. Everyone is incredibly caring and welcoming. I had a lot of work that needed to be done and was very apprehensive about it. Dr. Fortson was very thorough in his exam and laid out a treatment plan to get my mouth healthy again. Michelle in the front office walked me through the financial aspect and was very knowledgeable, helpful, and easy to talk to. I elected to have iv sedation for my procedures and the nurse anesthetist James was amazing. He eased all of my fears and took me step by step through what to expect. I got calls and texts the next day from both Dr. Fortson and James to check on me and see how I was doing after my procedures. I LOVE the way my teeth look and I'm finally not self conscious about smiling! Would highly recommend Dr Fortson to anyone seeking a dentist, especially if major work is needed. He is amazing at what he does.

I went to this office a few months ago for tooth pain and jaw pain. Dr. Kroll determined that my bite was not aligned and she was able to adjust it. She made me a bite guard and I have been pain free ever since. I went back recently for a routine cleaning and exam and I had another great experience. My hygienist, Taylor, was very thorough and efficient. I get a lot of hard to remove build up under my gums and she was able to remove it all. I didn't have any pain and I left feeling so good about the health of my teeth and gums.

Well the new doctor Fortson is no Dr Allain. I have not felt pain in a dentist chair since I had to have the same teeth repaired in the late 70s. While at my visit today asked for gas prior to work but didn't feel any effects so asked if nurse turned it on, he played with it a bit and I was told to take deep breaths and he proceeded with no numbing swab to inject me hurt like HELL but kept going. After a bit he took a break for bonding to dry nurse asked how I was and if I wanted more gas and Malissa came in to find out the gas was to low. Also Listening to him talk with others sounds like practice is going to be less personal and more quantity of Patients per day, so I will be looking for a new dentist

I haven't been to the dentist in years. Because of bad past experiences, and my fear of going to the dentist. There is nothing negative I can say about this place. The whole staff is super friendly, made me feel extremely comfortable. Dr. Kroll was super nice, and completely non judgemental. She made me feel at ease. Highly recommend if your a coward like myself.
