Dr. Kale Langley was born and raised in south-central Kansas. He received his undergraduate degree in Human Biology at the University of Kansas and is a graduate of Creighton University School of Dentistry. Following dental school, he attended an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the UCLA. This program focused on complex dental need patients including implant placement and restoration, esthetic dentistry, and full mouth rehabilitations.

Dr. Langley is an active member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and Minneapolis District Dental Society and participates in a local Spear Study Club. He serves on the Creighton Alumni of the Twin Cities Board and Creighton Dental Alumni Advisory Board.

Dr. Langley moved to Minneapolis with his wife, Brooke, in 2013 to be closer to their families. Their daughters Ronja and Ravelle as well as their dog Jovi keep them busy while at home. Dr. Langley's hobbies include hiking, golfing, running and biking. He will cheer for the Twins as long as they are not playing the Kansas City Royals.

Dr. Brooke Smars grew up outside of Rochester, Minnesota and earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and Norwegian (despite being born to a Swedish immigrant) from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. She went on to graduate from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska and completed an Advanced Education and General Dentistry residency at the University of California - Los Angeles. She returned to her home state of Minnesota in 2013 after convincing her husband that there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.

Dr. Smars has been practicing in the Twin Cities Metro since moving back to Minnesota and committed to continuing West Lake Dental's 100+ year legacy of providing excellent dental care for the community. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and the Minneapolis District Dental Society and strives to constantly advance her knowledge and patient care through dental study clubs and seminars. She believes strongly in providing quality, comprehensive dentistry in a friendly and comfortable environment while promoting good oral and overall health.

Dr. Smars and her husband live here in Minneapolis with their two daughters, Ronja and Ravelle and their dog Jovi. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends, running and biking around the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes, reading, traveling, snowboarding and enjoying the outdoors (no matter the weather).

Katis a member of our administrative team at West Lake Dental, serving as an insurance coordinator and patient scheduler. She was born and raised in South Minneapolis, where she has worked in the dental field for over five years. Before working as an administrator, she went to dental assisting school and has experience in the clinical side of dentistry as well! In her free time, Kat enjoys being a freelance makeup artist, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.

Stacey joined West Lake Dental Center in 2019, bringing with her over 25 years of experience in both the clinical and business sides of dentistry. Her previous experience as a dental assistant gives Stacey the ability to confidently guide our patients through their treatment plan as well as provide necessary information regarding insurance and financial planning. When shes not at the office, Stacey enjoys spending time with her husband and teenagers, cooking, fishing, traveling, and gardening.

Kat began her dental career at her brothers dental lab in 2000 and graduated from Lakeland Academy/Herzing University in 2003. She came to West Lake in 2006 and has enjoyed watching the practice grow and change over to the next generation of amazing dentists. Patient care is always at the top of her priority list, and she loves helping patients whiten their smiles. Kat very much enjoys mentoring new assistants and other students in the dental field. Her spare time is spent with her husband, their kids, and friends. She takes every opportunity to travel and go on new adventures.

Parma born and raised in Minnetonka, Minnesota. She graduated from Carleton College in 2021 with a B.A. in Biology and minor in Biochemistry. She has been interested in the dental field for many years and comes from a family full of dentists. She is currently working as an assistant and starting dental school in the fall of 2022. She is so excited to be a part of the team here and is learning new things every day! In her free time, Parma enjoys going on walks, playing beach volleyball, reading, crafting, and hiking. She also enjoys helping the office with our social media, and specializes in West Lakes TikTok account.

Mary was born in Fargo, North Dakota. She moved to the northwest suburbs of Minneapolis in the 70s, where she still calls home. Mary has been a licensed dental assistant for over 30 years with much compassion and love for the profession. She now calls West Lake Dental her second home, as of the summer of 2021. In her free time, Mary enjoys quilting, reading, walking, travelling, and snowshoeing. Most of all, she loves spending time with her grandsons and family.

Heidi grew up in Walker Minnesota. She's been in dentistry for over 30 years. She loves the relationships she gets to build with people and lives she can change by helping them get the smile they've always desired. She believes that continuing education is very important in providing the best quality care to her patients. She has two grown children, her son Cody and her daughter Morgan. She also has a puppy, Mocha. In her free time, she enjoys boating, kayaking, biking, walking, scrapbooking, and spending time with friends and family.

Tina began her career in dentistry as a dental laboratory technician, and then went back to college to pursue her dental hygiene degree from the University of Minnesota. She continues to learn by taking continuing education classes and participating in study clubs. She enjoys being part of such a dynamic dental team, and the one-on-one interaction with patients that bring about the best oral health and care. In her free time, she enjoys family and friends, volunteering in her community, crafts, nature, and reading.

Jenny grew up in Jefferson City, MO. After studying dental hygiene at Marquette University, she moved to Minneapolis for a quick stopover while her husband finished grad school. 20 years, 2 kids, 9 chickens, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 lizards, and an unknown quantity of fish later, she is happy to still call Minneapolis home. Somehow, she even learned to love winter. In her free time Jenny likes to swim, spend time with family and friends, garden and take walks. Jenny aspires to help patients achieve optional oral heath through education, understand and providing quality, compassionate care.
