Dr. Joseph Sanseverewas born and raised in New Jersey. He has a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Montclair State University and Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He completed a residency specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UMDNJ (now the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine) in Newark, NJ. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Sansevere opened his private practice in Flemington, NJ. He has also served on the faculty of the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. He has the following credentials and associations:
Dr. Sansevere is Chief of Oral Surgery at the Hunterdon Medical Center and holds a staff position at the Hunterdon Center for Surgery in Flemington. He is a certified provider of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and a CPR instructor. His special area of clinical interest includes reconstruction of the teeth and jaws with dental implants and bone grafting. He has extensive experience in the field of dental implant surgery.
A graduate from Hunterdon Central Regional High School, he holds a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Biology from Montclair State University. He received his DMD from the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. During this time, he received extensive and specialized training in the removal of impacted teeth, office-based anesthesia, dental implants, bone grafting, corrective jaw surgery and the management of TMJ disorders. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support, and is a member of the ADA, NJDA, AAOMS and ADSA. He brings a wealth of knowledge regarding the management of the medically compromised dental patient, diagnosis and management of oral pathology, and treatment of traumatic injuries to the oral and maxillofacial region.
Dr. Reed is a well-informed and compassionate provider who takes great pride in providing exceptional care to the community in which he was raised. He is committed to maintaining great relationships with his patients, as well as fellow dentists and physicians, to ensure a collaborative approach to patient care.
The administrative and surgical personnel of West Jersey Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, PC are highly experienced in outpatient surgical care and anesthesia care. Their mission is to provide a superior level of customer service so that your experience at West Jersey Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, PC is the best possible. The staff are well-versed in insurance and financial policies and follow a strict infection control protocol. All of the administrative and surgical staff members are certified in basic life support (CPR).
Jody, R.D.A., joined the practice in 1997. She is knowledgeable concerning the many aspects of dentistry. In addition to overseeing the staff and the operational aspects of the practice, Jody is also the Dental Implant/Treatment Coordinator which allows her to serve as a liaison between the patient, referring dentist, Dr. Sansevere and Dr. Reed. She has her NJ Dental X-ray License, her Nitrous Oxide Certificate, and the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification. Jody is a Registered Dental Assistant, is an allied staff member of the AAOMS, and maintains OSHA updates and training.
Ashley,C.D.A., joined the practice in 2013. She has her NJ Dental X-ray License, and is a Certified Dental Assistant. She is responsible for processing and managing oral pathology. Ashley also coordinates out-patient surgeries at the Hunterdon Medical Center and the Hunterdon Center for Surgery. In addition, Ashley maintains HIPAA updates and training. Currently she is working towards becoming a Registered Dental Assistant and the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification.
Heather,D.A., joined the practice in 2015 and has worked in the dental field since 1990, bringing Periodontics knowledge and experience. She is responsible for inventory and purchasing of dental supplies for the office serving as a liaison between the practice and sales representatives. Heather has her NJ Dental X-ray License, and is a Dental Assistant. She is currently working towards the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification.
Isabella,D.A., joined the practice in 2018 and brings previous experience in Oral Surgery. She has her Dental X-ray License and the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification. She coordinates the monthly maintenance and biological testing of sterilization equipment. Isabella also maintains the inventory of surgical instruments. She is working towards becoming a Certified Dental Assistant.
Courtney,C.D.A., joined the practice in 2018 and has worked in the dental field since 2012. Courtney has her NJ Dental-Xray license and is a Certified Dental Assistant. In the office, Courtney is responsible for calibrating and maintaining working order of the offices iCat machine. She is currently working towards becoming a Registered Dental Assistant and the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification.
Kelly,joined the practice in 1997, and has been involved in the Hunterdon County dental community since 1984. Kelly is an allied staff member of the AAOMS and holds a certificate in advanced Medical/Dental Coding for oral surgery. She brings many years of experience in handling the various aspects of dental and medical insurance. Kelly is dedicated to maximizing your insurance benefits and is available to answer your questions concerning insurance.
Kylene, joined the practice in 2015 as an administrative assistant bringing previous experience in the dental field. Kylene serves as the Schedule Coordinator and manages the patient recall system to ensure that follow-up care is maintained. She oversees office email and the daily setup of the front office.
Joelle,joined the practice in 2017 as an administrative assistant. She brings twelve years experience in administrative and clinical practice. She communicates with referring dentists to ensure the office receives pertinent patient information prior to their visit. She assists in managing the office email and the daily setup of the front office. Joelle also has her NJ Dental X-ray License.

Let's face it, dental work stinks!! This is my second time seeing Dr. Reed (for 2 separate incidents). He is kind, listens to my needs, and makes sure I'm as comfortable as I can be. Both times I have gone have been great experiences. If you are nervous about the work oral surgeons do, don't be. Go see Dr. Reed. His whole staff is absolutely awesome!!

I started seeing Dr. Sansevere for a suggested dental implant. He and his staff are absolutely wonderful. They are professional, compassionate and explain everything before hand and during the process. He even called me in the evening to see how I was feeling. I highly recommend him and this practice. Wonderful staff and truly one of the best places to go. After a puzzling experience with the most unexplained pain ever in my jaw I am happy to report that all is going great now. This is a great practice! Dr. Reed is competent and caring. My husband and I can't say enough good things about how well we were treated professionally and personally by Dr. Reed, assistant Eryn and the rest of the staff. We highly recommend this practice if you need any oral surgery.

As I was scared to have work done on my teeth, the office staff and doctors put me at ease. The doctor and assistants talked thru each step of work they were doing so I wouldn't be so nervous. The doctor called me in the evening after the procedure to see how I was doing. Great and caring service was provided. I highly recommend West Jersey Oral Surgeons.

I have been a patient of Dr Sansevere for the past 18 months. I had an implant done by him. My experience with Dr Sansevere and everybody at West Jersey Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons has always been very positive. I was very nervous about having my implant but Dr Sansevere was very reassuring, answered all my questions. My procedure and follow up visits were excellent. I would never hesitate to recommend Dr Sansevere and West Jersey Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

A painless tooth extraction. I never thought it could happen but it did. If I had Dr. Reed as my dentist I probably would still have the tooth. He is so good at what he does. Toss your fear aside!

When I was dealing with a very painful condition in my mouth, Dr Robert Sansevere saw me promptly and was very caring and thorough in his treatment for me. He saw me for 2 follow up visits until my condition was fully resolved. I was very impressed with his concern and thoroughness. He and his staff are very professional and polite. I would definitely go back to their office again if the need arises.

My 97 year old mother needed an infected tooth removed. Dr. Robert Sansevere and his staff of Eryn and Heather were excellent. They took time to reassure my mom, were always gentle and calm. It was not an easy task but this team accomplished the goal and my mom was elated. They communicated with her regular dentist and answered all my question by phone and in person. I can't say enough good things. Marisol was also so gracious and polite in the office

My son had all 4 of his wisdom teeth removed by Dr Sansevere and we had an excellent experience. The office is clean, well managed and the staff is kind and caring. Dr Sansevere is also very personable and made my son feel very comfortable about the surgery. My son did very well with the surgery and healed perfectly. I highly recommend this practice for any type of oral surgery.

Sept. 1, 2022, I had a tooth extraction and tooth root particle, removed. Dr. Travis Reed and two technicians, were excellent, in the procedures. Also, later the same day, Dr. Reed, called, to assure, that all was well. Everyone, that works in the office, are very personal, and sensitive to your needs. I went to Dr Reed since I needed two teeth extracted. I was very nervous, but between Dr Reed and his wonderful staff the experience was so much better than I ever thought it would be. I would recommend them to everyone especially if you have anxiety when it comes to having dental work.

Dr. Reed and the staff at West Jersey OMS are wonderful! You immediately are presented with their skill, dedication and overall caring and concern for their patients. I came to West Jersey OMS experiencing intense jaw pain and, as a new patient, was scheduled with expediency and thoughtfulness. The staff explained all policies and procedures thoroughly and they, along with Dr. Reed, followed up numerous times after my procedure to see how I was feeling. While no one is ever happy to see the dentist, I can assure you that Dr. Reed and all at West Jersey OMS will make the experience much less painful, literally and figuratively.

My six year old daughter's labial frenum was large and had to be reduced as it would have caused her adult front teeth to come in crooked. Dr Reed consulted and advised that she should have the procedure done. I shared my concerns - my daughter is petrified of needles and I was very concerned she wouldn't do well. He told me he would never want to traumatize a child or make her fearful of dental procedures because of a poor experience. He told me that he thought they could do it at the office but if it didn't go well at the office it could be rescheduled to the same day surgical center. The day of the procedure came and I was so nervous - I was very concerned she would panic, fight and we wouldn't get it done. She was scared but the staff was wonderful. Dr Reed and his support staff engaged her, helped distract her, explained what was happening in an age appropriate manner and were just great. The procedure was done quickly but didn't feel rushed and she was very excited to leave the office with a prize and a balloon! A few hours later Dr Reed called to check on how she was feeling and if she'd enjoyed the ice cream I promised her (I am not above bribery!!). I cannot say enough good things about Dr Reed and team. If you are looking for an oral surgeon for yourself or your child I would highly recommend them.

After being treated by Dr. Travis Reed for the extraction of an abscessed molar, I am pleased to be able to recommend his work to others on all counts. He has a pleasing, personable manner, explains every step of the procedure, is sensitive to the pain threshold and overall needs of the patient, works with assurance and speed and provides thorough instructions for follow-up home care on the part of the patient. I was especially pleased to get a call from his the next day, wanting to know how the healing was going and if I had any additional concerns or questions. If you're feeling the least bit squeamish about having a tooth pulled or any other impending oral surgery, Dr. Travis is the man to see.
