Dr. Kevin Calongne is a native Houstonian who grew up in West Houston and attended Westchester High School, where he was a National Merit Commended Scholar and participated in football, track, and was President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He attended Louisiana State University, and was accepted into its prestigious dental school in 1987. In 1989, and again in 1990, he received the Deans Commendation for Exceptional National Dental Board Performance. Upon graduating from LSU School of Dentistry (LSUSD) in 1990, he practiced General Dentistry for four years before returning to LSUSD to complete postgraduate training in Periodontics. While in his post-graduate training he received a Billy Pennel Graduate Research Award for his study comparing various bone grafting and guided tissue regeneration techniques. This study was later published in The Journal of Periodontology; the most widely regarded periodontal publication. Dr. Calongne has practice Periodontics and Implants Dentistry since 1997. He has been utilizing the Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP) since 2009, making him one of the most experienced periodontists in Houston with this innovative technique. Dr. Calongne has also been called upon to lecture to other dentists and periodontists on the subjects of periodontics and dental implants. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Greater Houston Dental Society, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the Greater Houston Society of Periodontists, of which he is past Secretary. When not treating patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Tara, and his son, Cameron, in outdoor endeavors.

Normally I dreaded going to the dentist. It was never a pleasant experience however that changed when I was referred to Dr Colongne about 8 years ago. The staff is so warm and friendly that you feel like you are having a nice visit with friends. Dr Colongne is exceptional in every aspect. He cares.

Everyone was so friendly and very efficient. Dr Calongne was patient and explained everything that he was doing. Great experience and did I mention I'm not a fan of dental work ? Great experience.

I chose Dr. Calongne because of the pictures on the website of him and his staff. I could feel the wonderful energy through the screen. When I went in for my first appointment, the experience was one like I've never had before in my life. Not in any dentist office, doctors visit, church, grocery store, not anywhere in my life have I encountered such a warmth and care from people I'd never met in my life. My boys adore Chenell because she treats them soo kind, and offered them a piece of candy. Everyone in Dr. Calongne's office is magical. They are the kind of people you hear about in fairytales. I'm so thankful to have found this place.

This was my first visit and consult. Everyone was very friendly and efficient. I have been to many dentists, with many procedures, Dr Calongne gives me a sense of trust to do what he believes is best for me. I have scheduled my next appointment.
