Dr. John Meyer has been actively practicing dentistry in the Des Moines area since 1981. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kansas State University in 1977. He continued his education at Creighton University where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1981.

Dr. Meyer has five children and six grandchildren. He enjoys biking and has rode on over 3 RAGBRAI rides. He is also an active member of his church where he sings in the choir and is a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is proud of his office sculptures, landscaping, and flowers. He is very grateful for his outstanding staff and enjoys being able to work with two of his daughters.

Dr. Ashley Edwards is a West Des Moines native. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Iowa in 2006 and continued her education by receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2010 at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. After graduation, she completed a one year general practice residency program in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Edwards joined the West Des Moines Dental Center team in March 2014.

Dr. Edwards is committed to providing high-quality dentistry by caring for and educating patients while implementing advances in dental technology. She is a member of the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry. She earned her Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry, which symbolizes excellence in the dental profession and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Dr. Ali Meyer grew up in West Des Moines. She earned her bachelors degree from Kansas State University in 2012 where she studied Human Nutrition and Spanish. She continued her education at Creighton University School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2016. Dr. Ali joined the West Des Moines Dental Center team in 2016.

Dr. Ali is a member of the American Dental Association and Iowa Dental Association. She enjoys connecting with her patients to provide them with the best options for their individual needs. She enjoys all areas of dentistry and enjoys learning about the newest advances in dentistry so that her patients receive the highest quality care possible.

Julie has been a Dental Hygienist at West Des Moines Dental Center for 22 years. She was born and raised in Norfolk, Nebraska, and moved to the Des Moines area, where she attended Des Moines Area Community College and received her Associates degree in Dental Hygiene in 1999.

Julie loves her profession as a hygienist and enjoys her relationships with her patients. She especially likes helping patients feel comfortable by getting to know them, sharing laughs, and helping them to improve and maintain their overall dental health.

Sara has been a vital part of our West Des Moines Dental Center hygiene program. She graduated from DMACC in 2004 and has been here ever since. Outside of the office Sara enjoys biking, hiking, visiting Colorado, and spending time with her husband Adam and two Daughters.

Patty has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 29 years. She is married to her husband, Steve, and has one daughter, Lauren. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, fine wine, and spending time with family and friends. What she enjoys most about her job is meeting new people, establishing good relationships, and educating her patients on good oral health.

Emily was born and raised in Des Moines, and has lived here a majority of her life. Emily graduated from DMACC for Dental Hygiene in May 2018. Emily loves interacting with patients and helping them achieve a healthy beautiful smile.

Jessica attended Waldorf College for prerequisites. She obtained her Associate of Applied Science degree for Dental Hygiene in 2010. She is passionate about oral health and the systemic links to overall health. She has three years of experience at a periodontal specialist office, specialized periodontal health training and training in pain management at Mayo Clinic. Jessica strives to make patients feel calm and relaxed with her compassionate nature. She ensures patients have an enjoyable experience with a gentle but effective touch to ensure a long term relationship.

Established in 1985 by Dr. John Meyer, our dental practice continues to grow in order to better serve West Des Moines and its surrounding communities.
