Dennis Murphy is president and chief executive officer for IU Health. He joined the health system in 2013 as chief operating officer, overseeing the operation of IU Health entities throughout the system.
Prior to joining Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Murphy was vice president of Ambulatory Services and Financial Planning for University of Chicago Hospitals, and before that he spent 10 years at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore in a variety of roles, from administrative fellow to administrator of the Department of Medicine.
Murphy earned a master of healthcare administration degree from Duke University, and a bachelor of arts degree from University of Notre Dame. He is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health.
Murphy serves on the boards of Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, 500 Festival, Indiana Hospital Association, IU Health Foundation, Riley Childrens Foundation, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), National Bank of Indianapolis and Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE). Murphy has chaired the American Hospital Associations (AHA) Transparency Task Force since 2019.
Kevin Armstrong was named chief mission and values officer for IU Health in January 2016 to help integrate the mission and values into all aspects of the organization. A year later, he accepted the responsibility of chief of staff. Prior to these roles, he served as the president of Methodist Health Foundation.
Armstrong began his career as associate chaplain at DePauw University and then pastor at three United Methodist congregations in Indianapolis. His ministry included global leadership in ministries of education, healthcare, housing, food sustainability and restorative justice.
Armstrong graduated with a political science degree from DePauw University and a divinity degree from Duke University. His board memberships include Duke Divinity School, The Louisville Institute, University of Indianapolis, Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, Spirit and Place Festival, and Central Indiana Education Alliance Executive Committee.
Jason Gilbert, PhD MBA RN NEA-BC, joined IU Health in 2011 as Director of Nursing Operations at the IU Health adult academic health center in Indianapolis, IN. Since then, he held several progressive leadership roles at both the regional and system level, and was named Chief Nurse Executive in February 2020. Prior to IU Health, Gilbert spent four years at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
David Ingram, MD, is the chief medical executive for the Indiana University Health system. He has been a part of the IU Health team for more than two decades, most recently serving as president of IU Health Physicians.
Dr. Ingram earned a bachelors degree in religious studies from Brown University, is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and holds a masters degree in theology/ethics from the Divinity School at Vanderbilt.
He completed his residency and chief residency in pediatrics at the University of California at San Francisco. And then, he completed two fellowships with the IU School of Medicineone with the National Institute of Health-funded Pediatric Scientist Development Program; another with neonatal-perinatal medicine.
Michelle Janney is responsible for integrating the strategic plan into all operations and providing oversight for the delivery of high quality, cost effective and integrated clinical programs to ensure high quality care and service to patients.
A graduate of the Wharton Fellows Program in Management for Nurse Executives at the University of Pennsylvania, Janney was inducted as a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing in 2014 and is past-president of the American Organization of Nurse Executives. She serves on the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees and the Joint Commission Hospital Advisory Committee.
Maureen Bisognano is president emerita and senior fellow for Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). She previously served as IHIs president and CEO for five years, after serving as executive vice president and COO for 15 years. A prominent authority on improving healthcare systems, her expertise has been recognized by her elected membership to the National Academy of Medicine. Bisognano advises healthcare leaders around the world, serves as a frequent speaker at major healthcare conferences on quality improvement, and is a tireless advocate for change. She is also an instructor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and a research associate in the Brigham and Women's Hospital Division of Social Medicine and Health Inequalities. She serves on the boards of the Commonwealth Fund, Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center and Catalysis.
Quinn Buckner is the vice president of communications for Pacers Sports and Entertainment and serves as the chair of the Indiana University Board of Trustees. Buckner earned a degree in business from IU and after graduation played professional basketball in the NBA for 10 seasons, winning a championship in 1983-84 with the Boston Celtics. He was the head coach for the Dallas Mavericks. He serves on several not-for-profit boards including Center for Leadership Development, the Pacers Foundation, the YMCA, the Special Olympics of Indiana, the Indianapolis Zoological Society and the Indiana Youth Institute.
Scott Davison is the chair of the IU Health board of directors. He is chairman, president and CEO of the companies of OneAmerica and leads OneAmericas nationwide network of companies and affiliates. The OneAmerica companies offer a wide variety of products, including retirement plan products and services, individual life insurance, annuities, asset-based long-term care solutions and employee benefits. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant. Davison serves on the boards of the American Council of Life Insurers, Ascend Indiana, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, Indiana Chamber of Commerce and The American College of Financial Services.
Jim Davlin is retired from General Motors where he served as the vice president of Finance and Treasurer. Prior to GM, he worked at Deere & Company as the vice president of Corporate Strategy and Business Development and at Eli Lilly and Company and Procter & Gamble. Mr. Davlin now serves as an advisor for Torreya Partners, and is on the boards of Halite Partners, Wabash College and Menlo College, and the Duke Center for Finance. He earned a JD from Duke University, an MBA from the University of Chicago in finance and marketing, and an AB degree in economics and philosophy from Wabash College.
Tom Easterday is retired from Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (SIA) where he served as senior executive vice president, secretary and chief legal officer, and as a member of SIAs Board of Directors. He now serves as an executive advisor to North American Subaru, Inc. Easterday is active in various organizations, including service as a director of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, Indiana Chamber Foundation, Central Region of the Boy Scouts of America, Crossroads of America Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the SIA Foundation. He was the recipient of the 2009 Excellence in Manufacturing Innovation Award and a 2011 Champion of Diversity Award. Easterday holds a BS in business management and administration and a JD from Indiana University.
Kyle Grazier is chair of the Department of Health Management and Policy for the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan (UM) and a professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the medical school. She serves on the steering committee of the UM Comprehensive Depression Center, and is a member of the leadership group for the Institute of Health Policy and Innovation (IHPI). She also teaches graduate courses in corporate finance, insurance and payment systems, and develops case studies in healthcare management. Dr. Grazier holds a master's degree in engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and a master's in public health and a doctorate in administrative sciences from the University of California at Berkeley.
Jay Hess, MD, PhD, is the tenth dean of the Indiana University School of Medicine. During his tenure he has overseen a doubling in research funding from the National Institutes of Health and led the school through a comprehensive curriculum reform. He also serves as IUs executive vice president for university clinical affairs and provides strategic leadership for IUs health science programs and identifies opportunities for collaboration across educational, research, clinical and administrative areas.
Dr. Hess received his undergraduate, medical and doctoral degrees from Johns Hopkins University. He completed residency training in Anatomic Pathology and fellowships in Hematopathology and Surgical Pathology at Brigham and Womens Hospital. He has a certificate in business administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a masters degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
Kristin Mays-Corbitt is president and chief executive officer of Mays Chemical Company, Inc. where she has served for more than 20 years in progressive positions of leadership. She earned both a bachelors degree in business management and an MBA from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Kristin currently serves on the boards of Hamilton Southeastern High Schools Royal Pride PTO as treasurer, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, Indiana University School of Business Dean Council, the 16 Tech Community Corporation and the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee. She volunteers on the NBA All Star 2024 Board of Directors and volunteered on the Civic Advisory Council for NFL Super Bowl XLVI.
Alicia D.H. Monroe is an academic leader, educator and physician who is provost and senior vice president for academic and faculty affairs and professor of family medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She oversees four schools at the college as well as faculty development, faculty affairs, the Center for Professionalism, Institutional Diversity and Inclusion, and the Center for Educational Outreach (K-12 programs).
Dr. Monroe previously served as chief academic officer and vice dean of educational affairs at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, where she was professor of family medicine. She holds a bachelors degree in biology from Brown University and a medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dennis Murphy is president and chief executive officer for IU Health. He joined the health system in 2013 as chief operating officer. He came from Northwestern Memorial HealthCare in Chicago, where he served as COO and executive vice president. Prior to that Mr. Murphy was vice president of Ambulatory Services and Financial Planning for University of Chicago Hospitals, and before that held several positions at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Mr. Murphy earned a master of healthcare administration degree from Duke University and a bachelor of arts degree from University of Notre Dame. Murphy serves on the boards of the 500 Festival, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, Indiana Hospital Association, Indiana Health Information Exchange, Indiana University Health Foundation, Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, National Bank of Indianapolis and Riley Childrens Foundation. He is a member of the American Lung Association of Indianas Evening of Promise Gala Executive Leadership Team, serving as event chair in 2016 and 2017.
Anne Nobles retired from Eli Lilly and Company after a 22-year career, where she last served as senior vice president of enterprise risk management and chief ethics and compliance officer. She served as the chair of the IU Health board of directors for four years. Nobles holds a BA and MA in archeology from Harvard University, and a JD from Georgetown University Law School. Nobles is vice chair of the board of directors of Citizens Energy and serves as a trustee of The Nature Conservancy of Indiana. She is a member of the Committee of 200, an invitation-only membership organization of the worlds most successful women business leaders.
Robert Palmer is a pilot and the owner of IndyJet at Indianapolis Regional Airport in Greenfield, Ind. He is retired after 35 years with FedEx Express, where he served as vice president and general manager of air, ground and freight services. He serves on the boards of United Way of Central Indiana and University of Indianapolis. He has received the distinguished Eagle Scout Award and the Junior Achievement National Leadership Award.
Dr. Larry Stevens is the chief medical officer for IU Health Saxony. He is a native Hoosier who began his healthcare career as a volunteer EMT. After graduating from IU School of Medicine, he completed his general surgery residency at IU Health Methodist Hospital and then an abdominal transplant surgery fellowship at University of Chicago. His surgical practice includes a subspecialty in advanced minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Stevens has previously served as president of the IU Health North Hospital medical staff, medical director of perioperative services at IU Health Methodist Hospital, service line leader for general surgery, and as medical director of quality for IU Health Physicians. He also has served on the board of directors for IU Health North Hospital, IU Health Physicians, Timmy Global Health, the Haitian Academy Clinic & Medical School and Hearts & Hands for Haiti.
Bishop Trimble was assigned bishop of the Indiana Episcopal Area United Methodist Church in July 2016. Prior to that, he served eight years as the bishop of the Iowa Conference. Bishop Trimble was ordained a deacon and elder in the Northern Illinois Conference, where he served two churches and later served churches in the Cleveland area. He is a graduate of Illinois State University and earned his Master of Divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Chicago, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ohio. Bishop Trimble promotes faith-based response to domestic violence and has encouraged the establishment of mental health ministries. He is an advocate for social justice, faith-based initiatives to address gun violence as well as immigration reform.
Pamela Whitten is the president of Indiana University. She is a visionary scholar and accomplished educator and researcher. Whitten has held a variety of leadership roles, beginning at Michigan State University where she served as a dean for five years and most recently as president of Kennesaw State University.
Whitten holds a PhD in communication studies from the University of Kansas, a masters in communication from the University of Kentucky and a bachelors in management from Tulane University. She is an internationally recognized expert in the field of telemedicine. As part of her work in higher education, she additionally held leadership roles at the University of Georgia and the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Art Vasquez was appointed president of IU Health West Central Region in June 2021. Prior to this role, Vasquez was chief operating officer for the IU Health Indianapolis Suburban Region, he joined IU Health in 2016 as chief operating and financial officer of IU Health West and was promoted to president in 2018. Prior to joining IU Health, Vasquez served as the chief financial officer and vice president of finance for St. Catherines Hospital Inc. in East Chicago and prior to that as assistant vice president at Kaufman, Hall & Associates in Illinois.
Vasquez serves on the boards of Indiana Latino Institute, La Plaza, Inc. and the Indiana Health Fund. He holds a bachelors degree in finance from DePaul University, and a masters degree from Purdue University Hammond and is a certified public accountant.
Jeff Zeh joined IU Health as the president of IU Health White Memorial Hospital in February 2015. In November 2016, Jeff was named chief operating officer of the West Central Region. Prior to joining IU Health, Jeff had extensive healthcare leadership experience as the vice president of Navion Healthcare Solutions. Previously, he held several senior leadership roles with the now Franciscan Health at Lafayette St. Elizabeth Hospital, Home Hospital and St. Claire Hospital in Crawfordsville.
Jeff is originally from Frankfort but is a long time West Lafayette resident, where he graduated from Purdue University with a degree in communication and advertising. He also received his masters degree from Indiana University in health administration.
Prior to joining IU Health, Williams worked for Cardinal Health in financial and operational vice president roles. He spent time in Germany, where he successfully aligned cross-business and cross-functional teams to establish metrics to manage performance, measure progress, drive accountability and improve communication to key stakeholders. He was part of the leadership team responsible for the development of a refreshed organizational design, aiding in the development of key roles in the updated organizational structure.
Before that, he served as CFO for the Indiana Public Employees Retirement Fund and held various financial leadership and process improvement roles at Eli Lilly and Company. Williams has a bachelors degree in accounting and an MBA from Indiana University.
Christopher Mansfield, MD, is the vice president - chief medical officer (CMO) for the West Central Region of IU Health which includes IU Health Arnett, Frankfort and White Memorial hospitals. Mansfield began his career at IU Health Arnett in 2009 as a hospitalist. He has been an influential clinician and leader within the regions hospitals. Most recently, he played an integral role in developing the regions physician leadership structure and the regional response to the COVID-19 surge as interim co-chief medical officer.
Mansfield, a Lafayette native and Lafayette Jeff graduate, returned to the community from Denver, CO in 2009 to practice hospitalist medicine. He is married to his wife, Nicole, and together they have seven beautiful children. While maintaining his strong interest in fitness and athletics, Mansfield highly values time spent with extended family and friends. A proud Indiana University alumnus, Mansfield is nevertheless an enthusiastic Boilermaker fan.
Kishan Patel, MD joined IU Health Arnett in 2006 as a Family Medicine Physician. Over the years he has had impactful clinical and leadership roles within Primary Care and the Family Medicine Residency Program. Most recently, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, he stepped in with enthusiasm to serve as Associate Chief Medical Officer for Ambulatory Clinic Practice. He maintains his practice in Urgent Care.
Patel and his wife, Minal consider the greater Lafayette community home. Their son Kian and daughter Myka were born at IU Health Arnett Hospital. Patel is a fan of football and can be found cheering on the Colts and the Boilermakers. He enjoys golf and is willing to play anytime, any day.
Allison began her nursing career at IU Health in the Neuro Critical Care (NCC) unit at IU Health Methodist Hospital in 2004. Since that time, she has served in nursing roles in Neuro Critical Care and Intensive Care. In addition, Allison has a proven track record of success in a variety of leadership roles including: Nursing Associate Administrator, Manager of Clinical Operations in Cardiac Medical Critical Care, Administrative Director of Inpatient Services at IU Health Arnett Hospital, and interim CNO for IU Health Arnett and the West Central Region since August 2020.
Allison holds masters and bachelors degrees in nursing from the University of Indianapolis. In addition, she is an American Organization of Nursing Leadership member. During her career she has received numerous awards and recognitions including being nominated for the IU Health Values Leadership Award in 2017.
Koreen Kyhnell joined IU Health Arnett in June 1997 as director of human resources and was promoted to vice president in 2003. Previous to joining IU Health Arnett, Kyhnell had 10 years of experience in human resource management in manufacturing, distribution and retail. She holds a bachelor of science in retail management from Purdue University
