    In 2021, the CEOs of four local healthcare systems, including IU Health, committed to making changes to address healthcare disparities and provide equitable healthcare to all. Earlier this year, IU Health President and CEO Dennis Murphy joined those CEOs in an online forum to report on the progress theyve made toward providing more equitable care for all.

    Dennis Murphy is president and chief executive officer for IU Health. He joined the health system in 2013 as chief operating officer, overseeing the operation of IU Health entities throughout the system.

    Prior to joining Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Murphy was vice president of Ambulatory Services and Financial Planning for University of Chicago Hospitals, and before that he spent 10 years at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore in a variety of roles, from administrative fellow to administrator of the Department of Medicine.

    Murphy earned a master of healthcare administration degree from Duke University, and a bachelor of arts degree from University of Notre Dame. He is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health.

    Murphy serves on the boards of Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, 500 Festival, Indiana Hospital Association, IU Health Foundation, Riley Childrens Foundation, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), National Bank of Indianapolis and Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE). Murphy has chaired the American Hospital Associations (AHA) Transparency Task Force since 2019.

    Kevin Armstrong was named chief mission and values officer for IU Health in January 2016 to help integrate the mission and values into all aspects of the organization. A year later, he accepted the responsibility of chief of staff. Prior to these roles, he served as the president of Methodist Health Foundation.

    Armstrong began his career as associate chaplain at DePauw University and then pastor at three United Methodist congregations in Indianapolis. His ministry included global leadership in ministries of education, healthcare, housing, food sustainability and restorative justice.

    Armstrong graduated with a political science degree from DePauw University and a divinity degree from Duke University.     Christopher Mansfield, MD, is the vice president - chief medical officer (CMO) for the West Central Region of IU Health which includes IU Health Arnett, Frankfort and White Memorial hospitals. Mansfield began his career at IU Health Arnett in 2009 as a hospitalist. He has been an influential clinician and leader within the regions hospitals. Most recently, he played an integral role in developing the regions physician leadership structure and the regional response to the COVID-19 surge as interim co-chief medical officer.

He is married to his wife, Nicole, and together they have seven beautiful children.     Kishan Patel, MD joined IU Health Arnett in 2006 as a Family Medicine Physician.     Allison began her nursing career at IU Health in the Neuro Critical Care (NCC) unit at IU Health Methodist Hospital in 2004. Since that time, she has served in nursing roles in Neuro Critical Care and Intensive Care. In addition, Allison has a proven track record of success in a variety of leadership roles including: Nursing Associate Administrator, Manager of Clinical Operations in Cardiac Medical Critical Care, Administrative Director of Inpatient Services at IU Health Arnett Hospital, and interim CNO for IU Health Arnett and the West Central Region since August 2020.

    Allison holds masters and bachelors degrees in nursing from the University of Indianapolis. In addition, she is an American Organization of Nursing Leadership member. During her career she has received numerous awards and recognitions including being nominated for the IU Health Values Leadership Award in 2017.
