Your childs first visit should be an exciting and pleasant one. However, we do understand that the babies just dont understand why someone needs to be in their mouth and its OK. Over time, as your child grows with us, we seek to earn their trust.
For a first visit, we normally just shine their teeth and count them. We also may take pictures if and when indicated to check for bugs between their teeth. We like to keep it easy and fun so your child will look forward to future visits and will take an active part in taking care of their teeth.
The idea of a pediatric dentist having their own office is not new. Dr. Ahmed was employed by a pediatric dental group through the years of 2003 to 2006 but she wanted something new, something different. And thats when the idea of West County Pediatric Dentistry was first born.
Dr. Ahmed considered several options for her own office. One option was to purchase an existing pediatric dental practice in Creve Coeur, MO. While that had its advantages, Dr. Ahmed being an attention to detail type individual wanted to design and build her own practice and that lead to her next challenge: location.
West County Pediatric Dentistry started off as a project in Eureka, MO. After doing the demographic study, Dr. Ahmed thought owning Eureka pediatric dentistry would be the best move. But in looking for location and negotiating different contracts and locations including Wildwood and Chesterfield, Dr. Ahmed found her current location in Ballwin and that started the growth of West County Pediatric Dentistry. Ever since Dr. Ahmed strives to be the best pediatric dentist in Ballwin.
After securing the location (near Chesterfield, MO) in 2006, Dr. Ahmed started the design and construction of this new office. As you can see by these pictures, the design process was a step in itself. We started with the logo. Trains have always been a fascination and an interest of Dr. Ahmed and while she has dabbled in model trains, when it came to the office logo, the one word that came to mind was train. And from there we had the logo designed for a great pediatric dental destination that children would enjoy. Dr. Ahmed has filled her office with children friendly amenities to ensure that they feel comfortable throughout their stay in the office.
We understand that attending the dentist is not always the most exciting event for a child but we strive to make the visit as painless as possible. We are currently acceptingnew patientsand would love to see some new smiles.
The art work for the rooms came next. As much as Dr. Ahmed would like to take credit for the brilliant paintings on the walls, she hired an artist to do the work Carte Blanche and as you all can see, the results speak for themselves. Every room is a separate theme and every room is a dental adventure waiting to unfold.
A process that took a few months finally came to fruition on April 4, 2007 when we opened our doors to all patients, near and far, Ballwin, Chesterfield, Wildwood, Town and Country and those out far from Festus or even Washington, MO! We did not expect far to include other countries in other continents, but Dr. Ahmeds patients feel it worth to fly from Singapore and Saudi Arabia twice a year, for exceptional care and that is our most humbling moment.
Dr. Ahmed often says to her team, As long as we do our best and take great care of our patients and give them more than what they came for, then were doing our job! And thats the philosophy that started West County Pediatric Dentistry and thats the philosophy that keeps it going several years later.

We drive 40 minutes from St. Charles to see Dr. Ahmed for our two kids ages 11 and 6 and have done so for eight years. I would highly recommend her for multiple reasons. First, my kids have a unique enamel that requires extra care and thoughtful treatment. Second, not only does she make a point to come and talk to me after every appointment, but she is never in a rush, welcomes all questions and concerns and explains it all in terms I can understand no matter how long it takes. Finally, my kids love her and her jungle themed office.

My kids love Dr. Ahmed. She has a warm and playful personality that is comforting to kids. She's an awesome dentist too! She has provided routine dental care for both my boys as well as more complicated dental care. Both of of my boys have special needs and are often afraid of doctors, but she puts them at ease. She was able to pull two baby teeth for my oldest son in preparation for braces without causing him any discomfort or anxiety. My youngest son has a cranio facial syndrome wherein his jaw is shorter on one side. Dr. Ahmed was the recommended dental specialist on his cranial facial team and has provided my family with excellent advice in that regard. We couldn't be happier with her. As an added bonus, her office is very well run. Appointments are easy to make, wait times are short, and billing is accruate.

I don't want to get hated on but I took my child there and Dr Amed accused my child of spitting on her. Really? He coughed on her because they were putting stuff in his mouth.The Dr was impatient and rude to me and my child.(I recommend not bring your child there).

My 14yo daughter has been with West County Pediatric Dentistry since she was a toddler. On her last visit with Dr. Ahmed and staff, she was concerned that she would no longer be able to come to WCPD because she is starting HS. We love it there and have never had an issue. Dr. Ahmed and her staff are friendly, professional and efficient.

I have been taking my children here for over a few years now and we love it. They are always professional and on time. The entire staff are incredible children and special needs children. They make my special needs child feel at ease every time he walks in the door. I highly recommend West County pediatrics dentistry!!

My kids (2,4,7) actually enjoy going to the dentist. My 4 year old cried that it was not his turn when we took his brother. He was so sad that he did not get to go back.... Shows that it is awesome if my kids want to go to the dentist! My kids willing to to the dentist. The office is kid friendly.

My son has been going here for several years. He has a bit of anxiety with getting x-rays taken. She is so patient with him and helps ease his worries everytime. I highly recommend West County Pediatric Dentistry!

It's been about 4 years and we wouldn't go anywhere else! We appreciate the time Dr. Ahmed takes with each child making them feel special. The staff is fabulous and the waiting room is so fun! Our boys actually LOVE going to the dentist!

After a traumatic experience with another dentist in the area, Dr. Ahmed has made my daughters comfortable at the dentist again (They actually look forward to their appointment!). Dr. Ahmed is warm and friendly, as is the rest of her staff. Highly recommend!

Took my three year old here for the first time. Although the staff was very friendly, they have an office policy that doesn't allow parents back with their children. I understand for older children, but for a three year old? It made me very uncomfortable. We will not be going back and will find a more parent friendly dentist who can better relate to parents. The office was clean and adorably decorated.
