At West County Dental, we provide several family oral health services including cosmetic and restorative dentistry. St. Louis dentist Dr. Spalitto utilizes his vast knowledge and experience to provide the Des Peres community with quality dental care.
Dr. Pete Spalitto has a varied background both in experience and education. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Truman State University before attending the University of Missouri at Kansas City Dental School. During his time at UMKC, he served as class Vice President and was involved with the Honors Endodontics Program. After graduating with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2000, Dr. Spalitto served as a Major in the United States Army. While in the Army, he participated in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program, which provides additional concentrated learning in specific areas, such as root canals, braces, oral surgery, and many other complex procedures. During his active duty, Dr. Spalitto was able to apply his knowledge in his treatment of soldiers worldwide, including Korea and Iraq.
This experience, in addition to his more recent work in private practice in Kansas City, MO, and continuing education through professional organizations, gives Dr. Pete the understanding and knowledge to treat most dental needs you or a family member might have. His approach is comprehensive- rather than specializing in one particular treatment or procedure, he has concentrated on developing the skills needed to treat the whole spectrum of dental health needs that arise throughout a persons life. Dr. Spalitto is also committed to continually learning about the most recent advances in the dental field. He participates in the St. Louis chapter of the Seattle Study Club, is a member of the Greater St. Louis Dental Association, Missouri and American Dental Association.
In his spare time, Dr. Pete enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan, and their children, Olivia, Anna and Henry. If he isnt working on one of his many household improvement projects, you can often find him out on the golf course or enjoying time at the family farm.

I actually look forward to going to West County Dental! Everyone there is so friendly and professional. I drive about 1 1/2 hours to get there and don't have a problem with that!

The West County Dental Team are the best hands down!! Dr. Spalitto takes his time to explain everything to me, answer any questions I might have, and explains every option you have to correct your situation. The WCD team are the best of the best. I have A LOT of dental work I need done personally, coming up soon. and I would not trust anyone other than Dr. Spalitto, and WCD team. The work I have had done here in the past, is done with care, professionalism & perfection every time, and WITHOUT THE PAIN!! I hated going to the dentist until I met Dr. Spalitto & the WCD team. I will continue to refer, and have recommended West County Dental to anyone talking about needing dental work done. I am so looking forward to the major dental work I need done very soon, and seeing the final results. I know for a fact, I will be so happy when all is completed. I would not trust any other than Dr. Spalitto & the entire WCD team with ALL my dental needs. I will be able to smile again, without the pain & embarrassment of having bad teeth and covering my mouth when talking or laughing. Dr. Spalitto and the entire WCD team always takes so much pride in their work, and makes sure you know every step to take when caring for your teeth at home afterwards. The professional, friendly employees that make up the WCD team always greet you with a smile. Knowing your needs are their main concern, means so much. Dr. Spalitto makes sure to take his time, and takes so much pride in his work, it definitely always shows when completed. More importantly Dr. Spalitto & the WCD team, always makes sure their patients are always comfortable, at ease and honestly answers any questions you might have before any procedure. Most of all, Dr. Spalitto always makes sure you are 100% happy and satisfied with the final results, as he is a perfectionist in his skills and work. There is no doubt in my mind, from my past & current experience (I have been with WCD for approximately 13-14 years) you will be happy too that you visited West County Dental. In my personal opinion, West County Dental is the best I have ever been to, and I will continue to go to and recommend to others. I hadn't been in a dentist chair in 30 years, not because I didn't need care, but because my previous experiences were so bad I was unwilling to. The last few years had gotten progressively worse...broken teeth, multiple cavities, I decided I needed to do something about it. I began researching and ended up choosing West County Dental, and it turned out to be a wise choice. It goes without saying that Dr. Pete is amazing at what he does, and I fully expected that and was not disappointed. What really struck me was his staff. Every one of them was incredible. Knowledgeable, personable, and truly excelled at everything they did. They made it easier to see it through, and I'm very happy I did! Thank you to all who helped me get through the work that I needed.

I had to have a gum biopsy recently. I was anxious when I arrived, but everyone- from the front desk, to the dental assistant, to Dr. Spalitto, intentionally did everything they could to put me at ease. They answered my questions, gave me headphones and netflix to distract me, and even a blanket so I wouldn't be cold! The procedure was quick and easy. I had no pain and have had no issues recovering. Dr. Spalitto followed up with me to make sure I was doing ok. I am so glad I found West County Dental!

Dr. Spalitto and Team are truly amazing. The entire staff is kind, compassionate, and experts at their crafts. All my appointments have been personalized to my dental and scheduling needs. Awesome dental practice. Have been going to Dr. Spalito for 4 years and I can't say enough about my experience. It took me several years to find a dentist I am comfortable with & I'm so happy Dr. Pete was recommended. His office is friendly & professional, I've never had to wait & most of all, he does everything in-house so all work can be done in one visit. No more temporaries!!! He is up to date and treatments are not painful nor uncomfortable. Everything is explained upfront and you can choose the level of care you want. Highly recommend .

Let me just start by saying I finally have relief from my tooth pain after coming here!! I didn't take care of my teeth for a while due to depression so going in I was very nervous, but everyone made me feel very comfortable and tried everything possible to accommodate me. All of the staff are extremely non-judgmental and they are truly knowledgeable about what they're doing. The nurses and Dr. Spalitto constantly check in to make sure you're doing alright while you're there which is so comforting. Everyone from Dr. Spalitto, the dental nurses, to even the people at the front desk are all absolutely wonderful! I'm finally taking care of my dental hygiene and they gave me the confidence to do so by helping educate me about routines and what I need to do for my teeth specifically. Dr. Spalitto is only a phone call away as well and the front desk is amazing at what they do, so never feel like you have to worry if you are having pain and need assistance! Someone will reach out :) Also, this review was written a few months after I started going to Dr. Spalitto so it's not like it was a one-off good experience. I've had a great experience every single time and my grandma even goes here too! Thank you to the caring people who work here for helping me and my grandmother. And to anyone reading this who's trying to find a new dentist, PLEASE try Dr. Spalitto out! I guarantee you'll have a good experience or else you can personally hold me accountable!

Dr. Spalitto was courteous and humorous throughout the process. He and his assistant repeatedly checked on me and made sure I was comfortable (as comfortable as a molar root canal can be...). He talked through the entire process and kept me updated on his progress. The whole staff was incredibly kind. Additionally, they were able to arrange a same day appointment to help alleviate the pain. While I'd rather not be forced to return on short notice for emergency pain relief, I'd happily reach out to West County Dental again!

My first impressions of this office is that they do not care to receive new patients. In most cases when you set up an appointment they will take some information and wait till you are in the office before billing you or your insurance. In this case this group set me up with an appointment for weeks down the road but as soon as I get off the phone with them they charge my card for full appointment price without seeing me. I am new to this town but in other places I have worked with this was never done. The billing was taken care of at the office not before they even seen the patient. I have cancelled my appointment and will take my money to a more honest dental practice.

I came in for a wisdom tooth extraction and a root canal. It took a mere 2 hours to process and complete the procedure. Doctor Spalitto and the staff were quick, knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this location for quality work.
