Originally born in Laramie, Wyoming, Dr. Brenna Christensen soon moved to Mobile, Alabama, where she grew up always wanting to be an orthodontist. She started her journey by graduating magna cum laude from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) with a major in biology and minor in art. Afterwards, she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she met her future husband, Jordan, who is also a dentist. She then went on to specialize in orthodontics, training for an additional two years at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and receiving her masters degree in dentistry.
Dr. Brennas special interests are in root resorption, short root anomaly and congenitally missing teeth. She believes that orthodontics is just as much an art form as it is a science, and she uses her background in art to help her design your new smile. Her training at both UAB and Louisville included utilizing state-of-the-art technology, including digital scanning, CBCT radiographs and virtual treatment setups, to help give patients the best and most convenient treatment possible.
Orthodontic treatment success depends on a collaborative effort between the patient and doctor, so Dr. Brenna emphasizes patient education and communication from the initial visit throughout treatment. She understands that for patients and parents, knowing what is happening during treatment and exactly why we are doing what we do is helpful to motivate and encourage them so that we can achieve the most ideal smile.
When not at the office, you can find Dr. Brenna playing with her Labradoodle puppy, Riley, practicing calligraphy, or painting. She loves to travel and try new restaurants with her fianc, Jordan, who is originally from Atlanta. A fun fact about Dr. Brenna is that she has been treated with three rounds of orthodontic treatment, including both braces and Invisalign clear aligners. So, along with being trained as an orthodontist, she has years of experience being a patient as well. She knows firsthand how important being confident in your smile can be and is honored and excited to be able to create beautiful smiles here at West Cobb Orthodontics.
Wendi joined the family here back in February 2014. She loves working with her friends and finds the work everyone puts in to make a beautiful smile incredibly rewarding. When she is not working, she likes to arrange flowers, plan parties and enjoy all things aviation. She is married and has two kids who have beautiful smiles created by West Cobb Orthodontics.
Brieanne has been a part of West Cobb Orthodontics since June 2016 and enjoys running our social media accounts. She is a graduate from the Kennesaw State University, where she originally studied music performance, with a bachelors degree in communication.
During her time at college, Brieanne was chosen to play at Carnegie Hall for two years in a row and was a part of the National Wind Ensemble. Mimi has been with us since the first day we opened back in April 2010. Her favorite part about working at West Cobb Orthodontics is interacting with patients and seeing them light up when they see their beautiful new smile without braces. She is also fascinated by the science of how teeth move and enjoys watching them change over time.
With an impressive educational background, Mimi has attended classes for orthodontic assisting, X-rays, OSHA, and Invisalign treatment. She is CPR certified and has also completed CE courses from AOA and AAO trade shows.
Mimi works very hard for our patients and the team and makes sure everyone is happy and satisfied. She takes care of any emergencies, and patients are often relieved to see her clip an archwire or fix a broken bracket. She has had some good times working here, where we have had ice cream parties, costume contests, pumpkin decorating, pool parties and more. She also loves being a part of a family that never takes anyone for granted and is never too busy for anyone.
Stephanie joined West Cobb Orthodontics in 2018 and helps make our office a happy place to be. She is a graduate from Brigham Young University with a bachelors degree in community health education and has worked at Northside as a nurse in the PICU and nursery. She loves welcoming our patients and answering any questions they may have. One of her favorite parts about working here is the camaraderie and support the team gives each other, as well as the family feel our practice offers to every patient.
When Stephanie is not in the office, she works with college students through a program at her church. She enjoys reading, going on nature hikes and visiting the beach. She has been married to her wonderful husband, Ron, for over 35 years and counting, and together, they have five children and three grandchildren.
