Dr. Jake is a native of North Eastern South Dakota and received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Minnesota. After completing his undergraduate work, Dr. Jake served our country as an active duty Air Force Officer stationed primarily in Colorado and Mississippi.
Following his time in the military, Dr. Jake attended the University of Minnesota where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Outside of the office, Dr. Jake enjoys spending time with his family, the outdoors, hiking, biking, and running. Dr. Jake is committed to helping people achieve a healthy mouth and a happy smile as a member of the following organizations:

The new clinic is beautiful and spacious. All staff are friendly. Hygienist do a wonderful job cleaning and removing stains. Dr Olness is kind and caring. Highly recommend this dental clinic!

Our whole family goes here, we love Dr. Olness and his team! Abbey cleaned my teeth this week and she is always so kind. I had a sensitive area in the back and she used some numbing cream to help. All the hygienists and receptionists are great!

Dr Jake is the best! I'm a terrible dental patient, and all the staff is so caring and understanding. If you have anxiety about dental appointments, this is the place to go! Excellent dental work with great staff! Dr Jake is the tooth whisperer!

This is the place to go if you're looking for a Great dental place for yourself as well as for your family. We been with Doctor Ross sense he's been in town and never had any problems! Great person! Abby takes well care of myself as well as my family as far as in the dental cleaning!The rest of the Staff makes you feel very Welcome and comfortable during your vist. It's the place to go!

Needed to get in somewhere for pain caused by wisdom teeth and they were able to get me in quickly even though I was a new patient. I also suffer from anxiety and it has caused me to avoid the dentist for a long time. They were very kind and understanding. Mary Jo made me feel comfortable and gave me an amazing cleaning. I brought my children ages 3 and 2 to Dr. Jake at Olness Family Dental and had a great experience! Everyone was friendly, helpful, and made my kids feel at ease! I would highly recommend for adults and children!
