Dr. James Dickert is originally from Greenville, SC. He graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and then continued his education at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine.
Since his graduation in 2008, Dr. Dickert has been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry here in Charleston, SC. His passion for continued education has led him to pursue extensive post-graduate education in TMJ therapy, bite management, and cosmetic dentistry through The Dawson Academy. He has traveled all across the country learning from the leaders in comprehensive dentistry.
Dr. Lynn and Dr. Dickert are married with a daughter, Ella. They enjoy spending time as a family and restoring their historic Charleston home. They also love to spend time outdoors taking advantage of all the activities Charleston has to offer.
Dr. Agatha Lynn is originally from Aiken, SC. She attended the University of South Carolina where she earned a bachelor of science in Chemistry. After graduation, she received her dental training at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. Upon her graduation in 2007, she began practicing at West Ashley Family Dentistry.
Dr. Lynn is currently a member of the South Carolina Dental Association where she serves as a delegate for the Lowcountry area and the American Dental Association. Dr. Lynn served as a faculty member for the MUSC College of Dental Medicine until 2015 with an emphasis on dental implants and restorative dentistry. Dr. Lynn is a recipient of the Concept of Complete Dentistry Award from the Dawson Academy for her continued study in the area of occlusion and cosmetic smile design.

My appointment for a cleaning on Oct 18th from start to finish was excellent! Jennifer who clean my teeth, was very professional, easy to talk to, and offered great suggestions on what I can do to keep my teeth looking good. She did a great job! Thank you Jennifer! I've been coming to West Ashley Family Dentistry for about 2 years, and I have always been treated very kindly and with respect. Dr. Dickert is the consummate professional, but also is easy and engaging to talk with (Which is saying a lot, as it's usually pretty difficult to speak while dentistry is ongoing). Maria was amazing; in my 51 years of receiving dental care, it's been rare to find a hygienist who is as attuned with a patient's comfort and well being as she is. I hadn't had a cleaning with Maria before, but she had taken the time to really read my chart and definitely went above-and-beyond with her cleaning work to ensure I wasn't in pain or uncomfortable. I really appreciate her attention to detail!

I had a chipped molar, luckily I was able to get in the day after I called. I wasn't expecting a crown, but Dr. Dickert was able to take care of me the same day! So thankful I didn't have to wait a week to be seen and my issue was resolved quickly. Thank You to all the staff for the great care that you always give on every visit!

I was pretty disappointed to say the least when I went in for my appointment 5/26/2022 and was told I would be required to wear a mask. At this point In this pandemic I can only think this is a political flex for this office. I've been a patient with them around 7 years and while I really really liked dr Lynn I did not care for the work her husband did for me since she's been out on a leave of absence. The last time I was in office was for a series of things in 2020 and every time dr dickert would do something in my mouth I would have to go back within a couple days to have it adjusted or fixed. It was less than ideal considering I'm already terrified of any dental work. I found it tough to do anything but go with the flow bc the dentist is a really nice guy, I'm just not sure he is a great dentist. However his wife is both. Their front staff in the years I've been going has always been the most boring set of women I'd ever saw. Zero personality or warmth. I can remember always walking away feeling like I did something wrong. Even the girl who turned me away yesterday was like a robot. I feel really sorry for her. Anyways the mask Covid protocol is a little absurd at this point. I wish I had known before I had gotten to my appointment. The irony is I had a appointment a week earlier and I had to cancel bc I knew I had strep throat. You know the actual virus with symptoms every single time. I knew even if I went to the appointment and wore a mask that they were still going to be elbow deep in my spit and I didn't want them to get it bc strep throat sucks. I'd rather have Covid than strep throat.

I've had jaw issues for many years but never had any major problems until recently. One day, I suddenly developed intense pain, swelling and found my jaw immobile. I came across West Ashley Family Dentistry and was happy to see they specialized in TMJ therapy. I was in so much pain and desperate for help. I called to see if they accepted new patients and they were able to get me in to see Dr. Dickert that same day. After taking X-Rays and doing a thorough exam, he was able to tell me exactly what was wrong and had me on a treatment plan immediately. This team truly bent over backwards to do what they could to work me into their busy schedule. I was amazed at how quickly I was feeling better and am so thankful to have found them. Dr. Dickert truly saved me from some serious complications that could have developed had I not gotten treatment. I have felt so welcomed during each and every visit by the entire staff and look forward to continuing my care here!

Dr. Dickert is fabulous! I had only a limited time in town and reached out to cosmetically replace my veneers on two top teeth. Dr. Dickert explained the procedure each step of the way, talked through the different options, and was very accommodating. He took the time to make sure I understood each step and asked my opinion on the shaping and placement of the veneers, which was a relief! I can tell that Dr. Dickert and his staff are highly motivated and passionate about their work which made my time enjoyable. The team is extraordinarily knowledgeable, friendly, and lead me to a bigger and brighter smile! I would HIGHLY recommend WA Family Dentistry for any of your dental needs.

Best dentistry office I've ever been to. The staff are very warm and welcoming and go out of their way to make a great experience for you. They have even worked around my last-minute business meetings to get me in and taken care of. They are always super nice and positive. I've never had to wait more than 30 seconds to be seen. Dr. Dickert solves problems that other dentists can't seem to solve, and he has a network of specialists he works with that are great, too. Highly recommended!
