Werschky & Lewis Family Dentistry is proud to be led by Dr. Jay A. Werschky and his daughter Dr. Jori W. Lewis.

Dr. Werschky feels very fortunate to have fallen into dentistry somewhat by accident, having begun his studies in research before applying to dental school on the recommendation of a friend. He says that it has been a lifelong love affair and that he could not have chosen a better profession.

Founded in 1977, we have the experience to help all our patients, no matter what their issue. What sets our office apart from other dental practices is the passion we have for our profession and our patients. At Werschky & Lewis Family Dentistry, we are a family as many members of our team have been with us for decades. We treasure the camaraderie and teamwork that is fostered in such a welcoming environment.

We view our role in patients lives as being their biggest healthcare advocate. We are not salespeople, but educators and health care providers, and we do everything in our power to provide the highest standard of dental care. We have found that mutual trust and respect are critically important to a successful lifelong relationship with our patients. There are families Dr. Werschky has treated who have brought four generations to his practice, and it is just this level of trust that he finds most rewarding in his work.

Dr. Werschky is a native of Flint, Michigan. He graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1967 and received his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Michigan Flint. He continued his education at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, where he graduated with his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 1976. Our dentist is committed to continuing his education and he takes about a course a month. Dr. Werschky stays current with the latest in dental technology. Our dentists are trained in laser dentistry the use of digital radiographs, and we use CariVu to scan teeth for decay.

In July of 1976, Dr. Werschky returned to Flint to begin his dental practice. He is extremely involved in the dental community and served as President of the Michigan Dental Association from 1993-94. His involvement in the dental community also includes the American Dental Association Council on Dental Practice, state, and local peer review committees, and he has served as the Executive Director of the Genesee District Dental Society since 2007. In addition, Dr. Werschky is a fellow of both the American and International College of Dentists.

Since there is no cookie cutter approach to dental care where one size fits all, Dr. Werschkys goal is to provide personalized dental care in Grand Blanc. He would like everyone to attain and sustain a healthy mouth, whether it be through braces, cosmetics, or dentures, throughout their lifetime. In this day and age, there is no reason for a person not to have a great smile and a healthy mouth. We are also Certified Healthy Start providers which addresses Sleep Disordered Breathing and its oral ramifications on childrens oral development.

The success of an office starts at the top with an educated, engaged, and committed dentist. Dr. Werschkys practice has thrived because of the professionalism and skills of an energetic staff. We have a motto: Don't practice until you get it right, practice until you can't get it wrong.

Dr. Werschky resides in Grand Blanc with his wife Jan. They have been married since 1971. He has two adult daughters, Jill and Jori, who both work in the practice. Jill is our office manager and Dr. Jori is a dentist. Dr. Jori has been in practice with Dr. Werschky since 2007. He is the proud papa of four adorable grandkids: Avery, Grant, Emmett, and Duncan. When not at the office, Dr. Werschky enjoys golf and he loves to read and travel. What consumes most of his free time is serving as the Executive Director of the Genesee District Dental Society.

Dr. Jori Lewis is a Flint, MI, native and is Dr. Jays youngest daughter. A graduate of Carman Ainsworth High School, (1999), Dr. Lewis continued her education at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, where she earned both her Bachelor of Arts (2003) and D.D.S. degree (2007). Dr. Lewis served as Genesee District Dental Society President from 2018-19

Dr. Lewis is a strong believer of staying up-to-date on the latest advancements and dental technology and, as such, is a certified provider in laser dentistry and Invisalign and Healthy Start- cosmetic orthodontics. Her membership in professional organizations such as the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association allows Dr. Jori to continue learning, training and growing in the field of dentistry. Dr. Lewis is also involved at the local level of organized dentistry currently serving as President-Elect of the Genesee District Dental Society.

Recently Dr. Lewis has received the MDA Public Service Award! Dr. Jori exemplifies the qualities and traits of a dedicated dental professional. Perhaps that's no surprise, as she comes from a dental family. She has followed her heart and has gone above and beyond to conceive, develop and implement a very special health-related program for the under-served children in Genesee County, the Genesee District Diaper Drive, for which Genesee District Dental Society received the coveted ADA golden Apple Award.

Dr. Lewis services as co-chair of the Genesee District Dental Society health fairs, participates in the MI-DOOR program, Give Kids a Smile, the Donated Dental Services program, and serves as a Head Start Dental Care volunteer dentist. This 2018 MDA Public Service Award recognized her outstanding commitment and dedication to promote oral health to the greater Flint community.
