Hi, I am Dr. John Divis. I have lived in Washington my whole life. I was raised in Brewster, not too far from Wenatchee. I graduated from high school there and then attended Eastern Washington University for undergraduate school. I attended the University of Washington School of Dentistry and graduated in 1991. After graduating from dental school, my first stop was in the Tri Cities area. I then moved with my family to Wenatchee to start our practice here.
I became interested in dentistry as a youngster. My childhood dentist was a WWll veteran who had fought on the beachheads in the Pacific. Having treatment done was always scary and uncomfortable as a child. Fortunately, his son became a dentist as well. I say fortunately because he changed my perception of going to the dentist. He listened to me and respected any signs of discomfort. He got me numb enough to have pain free dental treatment for the first time. That is a major reason why I chose dentistry as a profession. It is also why I have taken a special interest in learning to treat people with deep anxieties towards dentistry. The biggest step I took occurred in 1999 when I attended an in-hospital training program developed by the Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia in Dentistry, one of the oldest dental societies in the country. There I learned the science and art of sedation dentistry from experienced dentists and anesthesiologists. Through this training I became qualified to attain a permit to provide moderate levels of I.V. anesthesia. Since then, I have performed sedation dentistry for hundreds of people. If you are looking for someone who takes pride in their dentistry, and has extensive experience providing sedation dentistry, you are looking in the right place. I started working in dentistry while in high school and enjoyed it so much I went to dental assisting school and became a certified dental assistant. I worked in private practice, until I accepted a position at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where I met my husband while he was a dental student. After he graduated from dental school, we moved to Wenatchee to be closer to his family and we started our own family practice. We have raised 3 wonderful children and have enjoyed 28 years in the Wenatchee Valley. When I am not in the office, I enjoy quilting, fishing and camping, and exploring new places. We love the outdoors and hiking with our dog.
As your Financial Coordinator, I will help answer all of your treatment planning, insurance, financial and scheduling questions. I believe in the power of improved oral health and I want to assist you in HOW we can make that happen for you. I have been an administrator in the dental field since 2009. Prior to joining the dental field, I home-educated my children.I grew up in Southern California, but this valley is my home. In addition to working here at Wenatchee Dental Arts, I love playing with my grandchildren, camping, hiking, quoting lines from Disney movies and the Seahawks. Go Hawks!
Since I was 7 years old, I knew I wanted to be a dental hygienist. My dad was a dentist in Pendleton, Oregon (where I grew up) for over 42 years. I fell in love with his dental hygienist and she became my mentor through the years, I wanted 'to be just like her'. I did my pre-dental hygiene college at the University of Oregon in Eugene 1980-1982 (GO DUCKS!) and completed my hygiene college in Portland, OR in 1984. After all these years, I still am excited and blessed, to wake up and go to work in my career.
Central Washington has been my beautiful home for over 22 years. Longer than I have been in one place ever! I was a 'west coast dental hygienist gypsy' for many years, and have worked for many dentists in Oregon, California and Washington. None that compares to Dr. John Divis (well, except for my dad)! I am so grateful to a part of the great team at Wenatchee Dental Arts. Dr. Divis is an excellent dentist and wonderful caring person. I really look forward to meeting you soon, as my hygiene patient and taking care of your dental care, needs and wants. In my off time, I enjoy the outdoors, fishing (new to me), traveling, cooking, flower gardening and learning something new every day. I have my SCUBA diving certification and have enjoyed years of passenger riding on the back of a Harley Davidson motorcycle. I have one adult son who lives in the Seattle area, who has been a joy to raise and am so proud of the fine young man he is.
Hi Im Kastania but everyone knows me as Kassie I went to the Dental Assisting Training Center in Shoreline Washington and Im a Registered Dental Assistant. Ive been assisting since 2011 and have had the pleasure to work in a few dental offices. Im honored to be working at Wenatchee Dental Arts, its truly my second home and the staff are like my family. In my spare time I love hanging out with my family, traveling and portrait photography. Many of you may not know this but I'm a huge Harry Potter and Disney fan and my all time favorite Disney villain is Maleficent.
