Dr. David Wemmer graduated summa cum laude with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1978 from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore. He completed a US Public Health Service Residency in Seattle, Washington in 1978-1979 and participated in the Indian Health Service program at the Brighton Reservation in Florida from 1979-1981. Dr. Wemmer completed his studies at the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center in 1983 with special training in orthodontics. In addition, Dr. Wemmer attended Anne Arundel Community College and Towson State University as an undergraduate, earning a bachelors degree in psychology.
Dr. Wemmers goal as an orthodontist is to change peoples lives for the better by improving their smiles through the magic of orthodontics. He has practiced orthodontics since 1983, and he remains committed to participating in continuing education as often as he can.
Dr. Wemmer has been married to his wife, Patricia, for forty-six years and they have been residents of Okeechobee for the past 32 years. They have three daughters: Jennifer, who is an orthodontist, Ann, who practices as a general dentist, and Chrissy, who works as an attorney. Dr. Wemmer and his wife enjoy playing with their six grandchildren.
Dr. Jennifer Schoenfeld earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1998 and graduated from the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center for Orthodontics in 2000. Before attending dental school, she studied as an undergraduate at the University of Florida. Dr. Schoenfeld is dedicated to staying up to date in the dental field and she takes continuing education courses as often as possible.
Dr. Schoenfeld has been married to her husband, Heath for the past 12 years and they have twin eight year old sons, Jacob and Casey. Dr. Schoenfeld and her family have lived in Vero Beach for over 15 years.

I initially got my second set of braces completed here in 2019 and the service was phenomenal! They were very diligent in their care and attentiveness. After a couple of years I have managed to get some spaces between my teeth that has caused food to constantly get stuck in them but I can always go back and have that rectified; despite paying extra for permanent retainers and having the invisalign retainers. After going to today's visit I have decide its best I find a different location to get not only my third set but my son's first set... My permanent wire had fell off and come to find out it can't be replaced (Fully understood due to the kinks in the wire itself) but then I was informed that for them to remove the glue off of my the back of the top teeth and removing the wire that was only glued to 1 or 2 teeth was going to cost $95. Not including that if I wanted to replace the retainer it would be about $275. What a shock on the $95 office visit charge considering the appointment was less then 10 minutes in total. I even informed the receptionist had I known that I would have just went to my dentist to have the wire removed. The receptionist at the front has no sense of customer service nor any sense of compassion; from the moment I called, walked in, and even checked out. She literally could careless that I was wondering how last time I checked - office visits were $35 and now its suddenly $95. She had no explanation other than prices go up.Especially in this economy and the hardship people are going through. I drive from South Vero to their Sebastian location due to the care and attention they gave... but after today's visit (with the curtsy of them refunding 20 dollars for the confusion) I will not be returning again. I sent so many people I knew to them to only feel like it has become a huge money grab; Their staff didn't care cared and nor did they seem shocked by what they charged. Affordability no longer exists here, if you go here... expect to spend more than an average orthodontist... which is sad... Transparency should exist in their office with prices being accessible somewhere so people can make their choices BEFORE getting services and not after when they are stuck paying. Especially during price changes.

We appreciate Wemmer Orthodontics! Their staff is super friendly and the office is bright, cheery, and clean. Whenever we have had an issue with poky wires or a loose appliance they are quick to fit us in and correct the issue. The transformation in our sons's smile has been impressive. We have been pleased with our orthodontist choice!
