Dr. Adam grew up in the Reno/Sparks area, and graduated from Galena High School and the University of Nevada. He first joined Welmerink Orthodontics in 2004 as a lab and chairside assistant. Working alongside his father ignited a love for working with patients to improve their smiles and self-confidence, and solidified his decision to attend dental school at the University of Washington. He was blessed with the opportunity to practice with his father, Dr. David Welmerink, for over 9 years.

After dental school, Dr. Adam attended the University of Michigan to earn a masters degree in orthodontics in June 2012. In 2014, he became certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction only one in three orthodontists achieves. He is very excited to be fulfilling his dream of practicing alongside his father at Welmerink Orthodontics.

Dr. Adam has always had a passion for education, inspired by a family of teachers, librarians, and principals. He is a volunteer associate professor of orthodontics at the University of California, San Francisco. There, he supervises orthodontic residents in the clinic as they learn the practice of the specialty, and works with them in seminars on treatment planning and orthodontic practice. He has also tutored pre-dental and pre-medical students, served as a mentor for aspiring dentists, and participated in academic research. In 2010, he chaired a national conference for all orthodontic residents.

Dr. Adam also believes in giving back to our community and our profession. He has held many positions in organized dentistry to advance the mission of our dental societies to protect the public. He is past president of the Northern Nevada Dental Society, and a past Director on the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists Board of Trustees. He is a member in good standing of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the Northern Nevada Dental Society, the Nevada Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He participates as a member of the Northern Nevada Craniofacial Team through the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

When hes not practicing orthodontics, Dr. Adam enjoys a variety of activities, including basketball (playing and coaching youth teams), hiking, water sports, and spending time in the sun at Lake Tahoe. When the weather doesnt allow those, he loves playing board games of any type, and enjoys sharing time playing them with family and friends. He is married to Diana, who also has a love of education, and serves as an educational counselor for her alma mater. Together they have two wonderful children, Claire and Isaac.

Dr. Megan could not be more excited to join Welmerink Orthodontics! She is a transplant from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and completed dental school at the University of Michigan. During her time there, Dr. Megan uncovered her desire to pursue a specialty in orthodontics, which led her to the University of Iowa where she earned a masters degree in orthodontics in June 2021. She was Chief Resident of her program and earned high praise from her instructors and fellow residents for her outstanding orthodontic skill and compassion working with patients.

Dr. Megan isa board-certified orthodontist. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics, the Northern Nevada Dental Society, and the Nevada Dental Society. She is very passionate about giving back to the community and maintaining involvement in organized dentistry. Dr. Megan appreciates the art and science behind moving teeth, recognizing that each patient has their own needs. She enjoys getting to know patients and their families throughout treatment, while watching their teeth move and smile grow bigger.

Outside of practicing orthodontics, Dr. Megan enjoys almost anything outdoors. She spends her time hiking, camping, snowboarding, and enjoying time with her spouse and two dogs. Dr. Megan also likes to travel (when the world allows her to) and explore new cultures and experience foreign cuisines. She loves a good card game and puzzle with her family and friends.

Dr. Megan looks forward to collaborating with Dr. Adam and treating patients here in Northern Nevada. She is passionate about her work and cannot wait to share her love for patient care and orthodontics with our community.

Dr. David Welmerink is the founder of Welmerink Orthodontics, starting his practice in November, 1982. Over 39 years of practice, until his retirement in May of 2021, Dr. Welmerink (affectionately known as Doc) served the community of Sparks and Fallon. He participated in the lives of thousands of patients. He is a role model and inspiration to the many lives he touched over his years of practice.

Doc graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and practiced general dentistry for five years with the United States Public Health Service, Indian Health Division. He returned to the University of Michigan to continue his education with specialty training in orthodontics. After completing his residency and obtaining his masters degree in orthodontics, he rejoined the Public Health Service to practice in the seven Indian Health Clinics in the Arizona/Nevada area. Following completion of his Public Health Service, Dr. David Welmerink opened his private practice in Sparks.

He has served as secretary/treasurer, vice president, and president of the Northern Nevada Dental Society, and is a member in good standing of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and the Nevada Society of Orthodontists.

I joined the Welmerink Orthodontics team in December 2011. I also worked in the orthodontic field from 2000-2006, before I became a stay-at-home mom. During my orthodontic career, I have worked in the lab and assisted the doctors. You have probably seen me as the Treatment Coordinator or Financial Coordinator over my time here with Welmerink Orthodontics. I truly enjoy meeting all of our patients. Now, as the Administrative Lead I am more behind the scenes of the office making sure everything runs smoothly not only for all of our wonderful patients but for our amazing doctors and team as well.

Camping, skiing, traveling and spending time at the beach are some of my favorite hobbies. My husband, Ryan and I have three boys, Blaine, Logan and Mitchell. They keep us very busy watching them play sports. You can always find us at some sporting event around town. We love watching them discover and pursue their passions. We also have 3 dogs! Carson, Jax and Jiggs who are all Labs and keep us very entertained!

I have worked in the orthodontic field since 2006, after graduating from the TMCC Dental Assisting Program. My favorite things about my job are getting to know our patients and bringing them happiness by transforming their smile. I am a previous patient of Dr. Welmerinks: I had braces completed when I was in the fifth grade. I am so happy to work for such amazing doctors and give our patients the same great experience here that I had!

Some of my favorite things to do are ski, spend time at Lake Tahoe, walk my Goldendoodle Rosie, and spend time with my family and friends. I have two children: a daughter Adalyn and a son Cooper. My husband Matt and I were born and raised in Sparks.

I have been with the Welmerink Orthodontics team since 2012 and am very excited to be here! I truly enjoy working in the dental field, and especially love working with orthodontic patients. It is such a fulfilling job when you see the happiness a great smile brings our patients.

I moved here in 2003 from Northern California and I love all that Northern Nevada has to offer! My husband and I enjoy the outdoors and spend as much time as possible hiking, hunting, and exploring. I also enjoy spending time with my four sons, daughter-in-law, and beautiful grandchildren, Hayden and Miles.

I started working at Welmerink Orthodontics during the summer of 2018. I have truly enjoyed working with such an amazing team. Prior to working at Welmerink Orthodontics, I was at a pediatric dental office for seven years. It brings me great joy seeing each of our patients smiles grow throughout treatment.

I am the proud mother of three beautiful ladies. I truly enjoy being a mom and wouldnt change that for anything. I am a native Nevadan and most likely you will find me in the Nevada backroads having a great time hunting, fishing, and camping, all while working with my dogs. I live a very active life and enjoy each and every adventure.

I have been working at Welmerink Orthodontics since 2017, first as a Scheduling Coordinator and now as the Financial Coordinator. It is so rewarding getting to know our patients and watching them transform throughout treatment.

I grew up in the Bay Area in California and moved to Reno to attend the University of Nevada in 2011. I love this area and am always looking for opportunities to spend more time outdoors, especially backpacking and kayaking.

Hello, Im Jessica! I joined the Welmerink Orthodontic team in the Fall of 2016. I graduated from the dental assisting program at Milan and did my externship at Welmerink Orthodontics before being hired to join the team. It has been a great experience working with a fun, friendly and caring team. Thank you Dr. Welmerink for believing in me and my capabilities from the beginning. I loved how braces changed my smile, and it is an honor being able to help transform beautiful smiles and help make patients comfortable and confident about their smiles.

I was born and raised in Reno. I have been blessed with a son, Giovanni! In our spare time we enjoy going to the park, the lake and camping. I also love kickboxing and watching Netflix. I am very family oriented, having come from a family of six children.

I have enjoyed working at Welmerink Orthodontics for over 25 years. Truly my best job ever! I am a Native Nevadan. Born and raised in Reno. My family all lives here. My amazing daughter and son in law and my 1st granddaughter. My awesome son and my beautiful parents!

I have many hobbies. They include paddle boarding on beautiful Lake Tahoe, skiing, hiking and running. One of my biggest accomplishments was running the 1999 and 2000 Boston Marathon! I am the biggest Disney fan and I love to travel.

I practiced in general dentistry for 6 years before switching to orthodontics in 2015. I was hired at Welmerink Orthodontics in 2016 and have been loving every second since. I absolutely love my job; it is truly rewarding changing lives through creating beautiful confident smiles.

Outside of the office I am busy supporting my husband through his firefighting career and raising our 3 girls Brylee, Elyse and Everly. We love summer camp trips, paddle boarding and day trips to our surrounding lakes. We also love spending time with family and friends, watching movies and navigating our way through parenthood.

The best part about working at Welmerink Orthodontics is the amazing teamwork. I get to work with such awesome, fun, and caring staff. It definitely makes it worth coming into work knowing that I am in good hands, and even better, knowing that our patients are in good hands too. With the quality care and experience we give to our patients; I am so glad I get to take part in helping our patients achieve that perfect smile.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy doing arts and crafts, watching my kids play sports, and most of all spending time with my family, whether that be taking trips, playing games, watching movies, relaxing, listening to music, or having a good old family BBQ.

I am originally from New Mexico but moved to Reno in 2012. I attended TMCC and received my Associate of Science & Dental Assisting. Since then, I have worked in orthodontics and absolutely love it. The best part of my job is watching our patients confidence grow through the years. Each visit brings something new, not only with their smile but with their life as well.

Hello!! Im Alicia. I joined the Welmerink Orthodontic Team in the summer of 2021 and I am loving it. I have been in the dental field since graduating the Dental Assisting Program at TMCC in 2014. I found my passion for dental and especially in orthodontics while being a patient of Dr. Welmerinks when I was a kid. It is such a great feeling seeing our patients excited for treatment and so happy with their beautiful smile. I look forward to getting to know all of our amazing patients.

I was born in Tallahassee, Florida and moved to Sparks when I was 4 years old. Outside of the office I love being with my family. My husband and I have been married since 2019 and have a sweet, amazing son that we spend most of our time chasing after. During the summer you can find us camping and hanging around a fire pit cooking something good!
