Dr. Marvin Wells is a Jacksonville native, having received his undergraduate degree from Jacksonville University. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. His residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery was completed at the Downstate Medical School / Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Wells opened his oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1980. He now maintains offices in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, enabling him to provide service to patients from divergent areas of Florida's First Coast, North Florida and South Georgia.
Dr. Wells has served as an assistant professor in the University of Florida's College of Dentistry, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He has also lectured extensively throughout Florida and nationally on various subjects relating to his specialty, including reconstructive and orthognathic surgery, dental implants, arthroscopic and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery, facial trauma, and surgery for the removal of impacted teeth.
He maintains staff privileges at the following Florida hospitals: Baptist Medical Center of Jacksonville, Wolfson Children's Hospital of Jacksonville, St. Vincent's Hospital of Jacksonville, Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville, Shands Hospital of Jacksonville, and Flagler Hospital of St. Augustine. Dr. Wells currently serves as Chief of the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Service at St. Vincent's Southside Hospital in Jacksonville.
Dr. Wells is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, National Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Florida Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has been a lecturer for all three organizations. He also holds membership in the American Association of Hospital Dentists, the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, and the American Dental Association.

Highly recommend Dr. Wells and his staff Ashley and Joelle to take care of your oral surgical needs! I had to have a badly decayed wisdom tooth removed, while waiting for my appointment Joelle was very kind to speak to and informative with helpful information, while getting ready and prepped Ashley was kind and helpful as well willing to help keep me comfortable with whatever I needed and Dr. Wells performed the surgery quick and efficiently. The entire process was smooth and successful. If your looking for an oral surgeon, Dr. Wells St Augustine office is the way to go! You won't be disappointed.

My primary dentist sent me to doctor wells in st Augustine fl and they would not accept payment until I saw the doctor and when I came out they told me it was 150.00 for a consultation and then asked how I wanted to pay for the procedure and I asked what portion will my ins. Cover and they stated I had to pay the full amt. so I paid the consult fee and declined the extractions. I called my ins. And they advised he is one of there preferred providers and that the extractions are covered 80%. I will find another provider that is ethical. Don't let his soft spoken easy going demeanor fool you. He made me wait 20 minutes like my time meant nothing.

I highly recommend Dr. Wells. I had to get all of my wisdom teeth out and every single person at Dr. Wells' office made me feel extremely welcome and comfortable. They were very patient with me, explained everything thoroughly, and were very professional. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Dr. Wells checked up on me after getting my procedure, and was very thorough in getting back to me anytime I had questions. Every single person I met at the office was amazing, including Joelle and Ashley! Thank you Dr. Wells and staff!

I went to Dr. Wells office to get done an oral surgery on 08/29/2020 and staff provided an exceptional experience for me. Mr. Joel (front Office manager) and Ashley (assistant) were very kind, professional, caring and friendly. I was well informed about the why's and how's of what to expect about the surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Marvin Wells and staff in St. Augustine,FL. In my opinion and experience Dr. Wells is the best Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon and God bless him. Ps. The office is very clean and nice.

Dr. Wells and his team were nothing short of exceptional. Each member of the office was very genuine and kind. Likewise, everyone was very professional, attentive, and informative. Dr. Wells was very thorough in explaining the procedure to me so I was educated every step of the way. Likewise, he checked in on me post surgery and offered his assistance at any point during my recovery. I was upset at first, due to my appointment being moved from 9:30 until 12:45. I must say Dr. Wells and his staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. I was very scared and anxious. God was in the plan the whole time and the procedure went well. I would definitely recommend him to pull out your wisdom teeth.
