Dr. Michael Tumbarello grew up in New York and knew he wanted to be a dentist from the age of 4. He graduated in 1997 from the University of Connecticut Dental School. He moved to North Carolina in 1997 and immediately began his residency program at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC to further his education. In August 1998, he began his private practice in Dobson, NC where he solo practiced for 20 years. He enjoyed the small town practice and getting to know his patients and their families. After serious consideration, he decided to further his experiences and become the Associate Director of Clinical Services at one of the local East Carolina School of Dental Medicine clinics. He began mentoring 4th year dental students and 1st year residences completing their AEGD education. His experiences and the teaching of futuredentists has re-inspired him to treat patients in a small community again. When not working, he enjoys running, fishing on High Rock Lake, and relaxing with his wife and 3 wonderful children.

As a dental professional, Dr. Tumbarellostays up to date on the latest advancements in dentistry in order to provide the most current treatment options for my patients. As a doctor,he recognizes that his patients are unique individuals who have placed a great deal of trust in the dentist and the team. That is just one reason why he values each and every patient relationship.
Kristi was recently added to the dental team. She received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Guilford Technical Community College. She has been a Dental Hygienist for 17 years. She loves getting to know her patients and their families. Kristi lives in the North Davidson community with her husband and two children. In her spare time she enjoys watching her kids play sports, trips to the beach and spending time with friends & family. She looks forward to seeing you at your next visit at our new office!

My son and I finally found a dentist who made our first visit a very good experience! The dentist and office staffs are very down to earth which really helped calm my nerves down. My son said his hygienist was nice which is a plus. Looking forward to our future appointments.

So I just had my first appointment at Welcome Family Denistry and have definitely found a dentist office that I'll continue going to for the rest of my life! From the receptionist to Dr.T this is by far the best place I've ever stepped foot in. I would recommend anyone who is looking at these reviews. Thanks Christie for the great cleaning experience and to you Dr.T for coming in and meeting me and going over everything with me. See you all again in December.

Update after 2nd appoinment: DR.T and staff ae ABSOLUTELY the best at what they do!!!!!!! I am TERRIFIED of the dentists after a traumatic experience as a teenager. I went in to Dr.T's office after 10 years of no dentist and was treated so nicely! Robin was great and making me feel less anxious even over the phone before coming in. The dental assistance were both so patient and kind. Just making sure I was okay through the whole process. And Dr. Is the coolest, kindest, doctor I know. He is so good at making you laugh and feel comfortable! I truly thank welcome dentistry for making such a great experience for me! Highly recommend!

I am so blessed and thankful to be taken care by Dr. T, Joy, and Robyn. Everyone there was amazing! Not only did Robyn help me with the explanation, but she went beyond giving me more helpful information! I love all of them! I just changed dentist to Dr. T, and he is the best. If you need an honest dentist, please please this is the place you need to go. I have finally found a dentist that I can fully trust!

I highly recommend Welcome Family Dentistry!! I needed 2 extractions and more work to be done. However, due to horrible experiences in the past, I was scared to death. I was encouraged by Robyn (Receptionist) to come in for a consultation. I did go and Dr Tumbarello was so patient and kind. Everyone there is! He assured me that he would take great care with me and he set up a plan to get the work I needed done. I was sweating bullets but let me tell you! The extractions were done, I had no problems and that afternoon I enjoyed a great nap! Finally, a dentist I can trust to give me a beautiful smile again! THANK YOU ALL AT WELCOME FAMILY DENTISTRY!

Welcome Family Dentistry, WOW the best! Everyone is so kind, Dr Tumbarello is the best Dentist I have ever seen. A very kind and caring person, Dr Tumbarello also takes his time with you and no pain. 1st time going here & the staff were so nice and friendly they made me feel real comfortable . Today was my second visit & I had to get a tooth extracted normally I would be nervous going to a dentist but today when I went in I was fine they made me feel comfortable everything went very well .

Dr. Tumbarello is a wonderful dentist. My first visit here I was extremely nervous and he was so nice and helpful and made me feel so better and relaxed. He is professional and genuine. The office staff is just as well. I highly recommend this office to anyone

Some people really get nervous going to the dentist but we never find this to be the case when visiting Dr. Tumbarello. He puts his patients at ease while providing excellent care.
