Dr. Richard Weimar is a native of Minnesota raised in, as he says with a smile, the vacation wonderland of Fridley. He attended the University of Minnesota from which he received his BA degree in 1978 and his DDS degree in 1983. He opened his practice the following year and has provided exceptional dental care to the Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park communities for over 30 years. He holds memberships in the Academy of Osseointegration, International Congress of Oral Implantology, and the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology. He is accomplished in almost all phases of dentistry, with his mission to create a dental office where patients can receive almost all procedures in one office. He seeks to minimize the number of times patients are sent to specialty offices for treatment, thereby creating smoother, more efficient treatment for patients with complicated dental issues.
In 2003, Dr. Richard Weimar expanded his practice to include esthetic implant dentistry, and has placed 2000 implants since that time. He has received advanced implant and bone regeneration training at the world renowned Pikos Institute and Fugazzotto Institute. Dr. Richard Weimar is one of Minnesotas leaders in the use of CEREC one visit crown technology, and is one of the most senior CEREC practitioners in the world having practiced CEREC dentistry for over 20 years. He has been a featured expert on CEREC restorations for Channel 5 and 11, as well as radio 1570. He is a past president of the Minnesota Association for Computer Dentistry. Dr. Richard Weimar is also accomplished in cosmetic procedures and has placed thousands of porcelain veneers. He has received advanced training in ceramics and has an artists eye for creating beautiful smiles and restorations, with either restorations made by a laboratory and handmade by himself.
Dr. Richard Weimar is driven by his personal and practice philosophy of getting the best diagnostic evidence to give his patients an accurate analysis of their problems, giving multiple treatments with pros and cons of each and his honest appraisal, and letting the patients make their own decision on what will be best for them. Patients making their own informed decisions on treatment is one of the reasons his patients are always so satisfied with their treatment outcomes. Dr. Richard Weimar also has a particular affinity for patients in pain or who have high anxiety about treatment. Cherice graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1994 and received her anesthesia license from Lake Superior College in 1998. She has practiced as a dental hygienist for over 21 years and has been with Weimar Family Dentistry since November 2012.
I enjoy several things about Weimar Family Dentistry, the most important being my co-workers. Everyday coming to work is enjoyable and I am so thankful to work with such an amazing team. Next, is the technology we offer to our patients. Its such a wonderful benefit and has continuously helped me grow and stay up to date in my feild. Finally, of course is our patients. I enjoy seeing our patients, getting to know them and making sure their visit is pleasurable.
Gail received her degree at Lakeland Medical and Dental Academy in Minneapolis, MN in 1984. She has been a dental assistant for 31 years and a treatment coordinator for 15 years. Weimar Family Dentistry has had Gail on the team for 11 years.
My favorite thing about working at Weimar Family Dentistry is having the joy of being a part of changing a persons life either by improving the appearance of a smile, improving their health, or improving the whole dental experience for our extremely anxious patients.
Lara received her degree from the Minnesota School of Business/ Globe College from the Health and Science Division in 1998. She has been a dental assistant for 17 years and has been working at Weimar Family Dentistry for 9 years.
My favorite part about being a dental assistant is the variety I encounter everyday. Every person has their story and each situation is different. I truly love interacting with everyone here, from the patients, to the doctor, to the staff. There is never a dull moment! Melissa received her associates degree from Century College in White Bear Lake, MN in 2002 and has now been a dental assistant for 14 years. Weimar Family Dentistry welcomed her and her contagious laugh to the team in February, 2015.
Everyday is a new day, learning experience and is challenging. Even after being in the field for 14 years, we have such a variety of procedures we complete, that not one day has been the same. Cheryl received her degree from the Minnesota Institute of Medical and Dental in Minneapolis, MN in 1984. She has worked as both a Registered Dental Assistant as well as a Patient Services Specialist for 30 years and has been with the Weimar Family Dentistry team for 12 years.
