Weiand & Weiand - General dentist in Spokane, WA

Ron Weiand was born in Burke, Idaho: home to the silver capital of the World. Ron received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Idaho. He continued on to Marquette School of Dentistry. After graduation, he enlisted into the Air Force serving in Thailand, and afterwards was active duty at Fairchild Air force base for 8 years. Upon transferring to the guard unit, Dr. Weiand bought a practice in the Spokane Valley next to the public Library. Wanting a new modern facility, the practice was moved to its current location just east of the Valley Hospital. Ron has a grown daughter who lives in Spokane and provided two wonderful grandsons. His son, Dr. Marc, joined the practice in 1997 and gave Ron two grand daughters. Dr. Ron Weiand is grateful for the trust his patients have given him for their dental needs over the past 30 years.

Dr. Marc grew up in Spokane, and while still in high school, he worked at his fathers dental practice cleaning rooms and assisting when needed. It was there that he learned first-hand about how to care for patients and what it means to be a respected dentist. Deciding to follow in his fathers footsteps, Dr. Marc enrolled at the University of Washington, continuing to work his way through school at a local dental office.

After graduating from the Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1997, Dr. Marc returned to Spokane to join his father in the family business. Im very fortunate to have such a great mentor, he says, not only from who I can learn the finest in dental treatment, but to be able to carry on the pride of providing the finest of care in a comfortable and nurturing environment.

Dr. Marc also utilizes high-tech Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technology to create customized fittings of crowns, bridges, fillings and other dental restorations. The technology also delivers advantages when it comes to office visits traditional tooth restorations may take several days and multiple office visits, but with CAD/CAM, the procedure can be performed in a single-visit.

High-definition flat screen televisions in each operatory room help with individualized treatment planning. Patients get a dentist's eye view of their mouth to see exactly where treatment is indicated. This gives the patient the chance to co-diagnose with me, what I would do in my own mouth and for my family, explains Dr. Marc.

It's no secret that many people are so fearful of going to the dentist that they simply avoid the situation. But of course, dental problems don't go away just by ignoring them. The most important aspect of an office visit to Dr. Weiand and his staff is that patients are completely informed and feel comfortable with the treatment being provided. Dr. Marc has found that if patients are open about their anxieties, he can adapt treatment and relieve anxiety with calm, compassionate communication.
