Dr. Wakeshi Benson is a native of Battle Creek, Michigan. In Junior High School Dr. Benson had orthodontic treatment to straighten her teeth, and this experience gave her the passion to pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Benson gained acceptance into Michigan State University and graduated with honor. She then attended dental school at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. While in dental school Dr. Benson became involved in several outreach programs such as, the Traverse City Migrant Worker Program, Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Future, and the Marshall Becker Dental Clinic.
Immediately following dental school she became a general practice resident in dentistry at the John D. Dingell Veterans Administrations Medical Center. This experience allowed her to receive advanced training performing dentistry on medically compromised patients in a hospital setting. After residency Dr. Benson worked as a general dentist for five years in the metropolitan area of Detroit, Michigan. She completed her specialty residency in orthodontics at Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington DC. During her orthodontic training she served as Chief-Resident. In 2004 Dr. Benson became the youngest President of the Detroit District Dental Society (Central Branch).

WB Orthodontics is amazing Dr.Benson is a perfectionist she will not take your braces off until she is satisfied with your smile and your teeth are straight to her liking.They do amazing work & the staff is so nice & polite so If you are looking for a orthodontics to go to as an adult or even if you want to take your kids I highly recommend them to any and everyone.

My daughters wire came loose on her braces they were so nice to get her in on the same day. The wire was really uncomfortable and hurting her cheek.We were from out of town and really appreciated them working her in. Thanks so much

I've been coming here since I was 16 and that was 5 years ago. They've always accommodative and nice, and I can't imagine having gone anywhere else! I'm so happy with how my smile turned out and couldn't ask for anything better. :)

My teeth look great after a loonnng 2.5 years. I love this orthodontic and Dr. Benson is very welcoming every time. Cole is the one who worked on my teeth 90% of time and he is great and very knowledgeable. Very nice atmosphere and clean environment, receptionists are great as well. I recommend 100%

Very unsanitary unfortunately. I found this office on a Google search then I thought wow okay a small business owner I'll try it and see. The first time I walked into the office I wanted to turn around (I should have followed my gut). This office never provides dental bibs, they never provide glasses when using tools, or doing any work, they never wipe equipment down after every use, the garbage can is always full and running over, the I guess dental hygienists have no licenses or at least there are none hanging up, all the chairs are made for children and not adults, I'm actually filling several complaints as I write. Even if you had a good experience please don't tell me I'm wrong because I had a horrible experience here. I think it's unsanitary, I think Dr Benson is very unprofessional, her clothes are not clean, the hygienist don't change their gloves and most importantly no one has a license there. She has young kids working for her that she can easily manipulate it seems. Go if you want but I don't recommend her to anyone not even my pet. I have a lot more to say but I'm saving it for my complaints. Good luck

Fast service and nice staff. Front desk staff is awesome. Anytime I needed to cancel or reschedule they was always understanding. Quick appointment.......overall excellent staff.
